NYC Cartoon Protest Yesterday (17 Feb. 06)

Here is a brief story on the "peaceful" protest in NYC yesterday at the Danish Consulate. This protest was also hyped on CAIR's website (www.cair-net.org) as well as other muslim activist sites, including the ITS. I will include more reports as I find them, but here is the story from the AP as well as their photo (above). Notice how peaceful the protesters appear in this photo, as well as the sentiment on the sign held up.

"A group organized by a Muslim leader protests cartoons published by a Danish newspaper, outside the Danish consulate in New York, Friday, Feb. 17, 2006. Jyllands-Posten, first printed the prophet pictures by 12 cartoonists in September. The newspaper has since apologized to Muslims for the cartoons, one of them showing Muhammad wearing a bomb-shaped turban with an ignited fuse. Other Western newspapers, mostly in Europe but also some in the United States, have reprinted the pictures, asserting their news value and the right to freedom of expression.
