What the hell is his problem?

[UPDATE001] Apparently we've all been had by the KUNA agency that posted the below. Via Dhimmi Watch here's what the Prince of Wales really said. With my apologies.

It really is astonishing, the below bears no relation whatsoever to what the prince actually said. So this is what goes for responsible reporting in the Arab world?

--- Original post ---

Dear British reader,

What has gotten into your Crown Prince and future King (presumably)? Look at what he is claiming in a speech he made in Islamabad:
ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (KUNA) -- Prince Charles Tuesday said that the world problems could be resolve by following Islamic teachings, as Islam is a religion of peace and brotherhood.

Prince Charles while addressing a ceremony during his visit to Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) stressed on better relations between Islam and other religions.

He said that clash of civilizations could be averted by following the teaching of Islam and Quraan.

Are the rumors as to his secret conversion true after all?

If Charles becomes king, one hopes he suffers the same fate as James II, whose loyalties were suspect leading to his replacement in the Glorious Revolution.

However, I’m sure some will wish that Charles III (as he’ll be known) will suffer the fate of Charles I.

Rexie,
What if he keeps his conversion a secret until after he is crowned?

I'm beginning more and more to believe that that is indeed what he is doing.

Who will be Cromwell?

If that yutz has converted and is keeping it a secret .. perhaps we should expect an accident of some kind .. maybe a few peers would 'rid us of this meddlesome' prince.

Epa, That would mean others on the inner circle would have to actually take their responsibilty to the Church seriously. Do you think any of them do?

Defender of the faith my a**

Apparently, the question of Charles' conversion was raised back in 1997.

Check out this Daniel Pipes's article.

Aha! Thanks Watcher, I've been looking for that link to put in the post I made.

Wasn't there talk of changing the laws pertaining to Charles as Defender of the (Anglican) Faith? I seem to remember some proposal being made to change that to Defender of the Faith*s*, or some such.

Kleinverzet,
I think Charles said that's how he wants to be intro'd in his coronation.

Kleinverzet, you're welcome.

I just did a quick search on the "faiths" issue and guess what I found?

CHARLES: I've been trying, you know, to convince Tony that when I, when my mother, when it's my turn, we should do something really quite radical, and show those wretched Anglican bishops who's in charge. What I've been proposing is that we, I, should be Defender of the Faiths, not just the Faith. Because there are so very many diverse ways of believing, you know, of celebrating one's faith in a deity - or perhaps, as some would have it, in several deities, possibly even a large number - and one doesn't wish to exclude. I had such a fruitful, encouraging discussion, you know, with an imam who helped me come up with the design for my Islamic tiles at Highgrove. It makes one realise that they don't all, you know, want to blow themselves up.

Here's more:

Various reports have appeared in London and Arab newspapers over the last few years, claiming that Charles has converted to Islam. This supposedly took place when he met with the mufti of Cyprus Shaykh Nazim Adil (in 1993). Now while there's no actual evidence to prove that he has converted to Islam, there is no evidence to prove that he hasn't. In fact his lecture delivered in February 1994 at Oxford extolling the virtues of Islam, his frequent visits to Islamic holy places, his dedication of a South London mosque, outfitted in traditional Sunnah attire; and his 1993 trip to see the Quran of Sayiddina `Uthman (in Tashkent, Uzbekistan) with Shaykh Hisham Kabbani, only lend credence to the claim. Of course, this is just the sort of tactic to expect from the antichrist. That is to say, if he were to openly come out and say that he had converted to Islam, this would make many Jews wary of him. Whereas, if he were to spread rumors that he was a Muslim and not publicly deny them, then he could get Muslims on side whilst not alienating Jews.

Whether he has committed the ultimately treason or not, Charles' should be declared persona non grata in the UK.

(WHISPERING: Well, actually he ought to end his days hanging from a rope in front of Westminster, but you can't say that loudly.)

Pastorius said...

Well, I don't think you made it clear whether it ought to be he who hangs himself, or if it ought to be the people, so I think you're ok.

And after they cut him down, he ought to spend some quality time with his head stuck on a pike outside Traitor's Gate at the Tower. Sometimes you just can't beat the old customs for getting the point across. No wonder his mother can't retire is right -- I hope she outlives him.

First rumors about Barak Obama and now this clown. I didn't think Charles could look any sillier than he usually does until I saw that picture of him in Sunnah robes. The only silver lining is imagining him trying to persuade Camilla to let him take 3 more wives.

Rexie,
I'll answer you the same way I answered Epa. That would mean others in the inner cirlce would have to take their responsibilty to the Church seriously. Do you think any of them do?

Pasto,
I believe there are some peers who might in fact take it as if it were actually real life, and as if they actually existed in real life, and as if what they do affects real life...someone or two who wouldn't fear that later they would be regarded as some kind of radical christian 'kharjarite' clique. I would imagine this would take the form of enforced abdication, but if not, who knows. I doubt if it would take the form of rebellion by the anglican churchgoers, after all...that would make it a CRUSADE.

Otherwise, just emigrate, and get it all over with.

North Dakota and eastern Washington are mostly empty.

Thanks for clarifying. Guess I gotta take back my criticism's of good ole' Charles.

Sorry, old chap.

When Charles (pbuh) becomes 'Supreme Governer of the Church of England', he'll presumably start by beheading the Bishop of Rochester:
