Some Points Regarding Moussaoui

I didn't have time to post this earlier, but I think that these points are very salient regarding the verdict handed down in the Moussaoui case. I also think that Judge Leonie Brinkema (above, sort of) should get an award for her reaction and smack-down of the would-be jihadi during the sentencing. Her comments in reaction to Zacarias Moussaoui's continued rantings were more eloquent than I can imagine anyone else under the circumstances could have managed.

Brinkema firmly refused to be interrupted by the 37-year-old defendant as she disputed his claim that his life sentence meant America had lost and he had won.

“Mr. Moussaoui, when this proceeding is over, everyone else in this room will leave to see the sun ... hear the birds ... and they can associate with whomever they want,” she said.

‘Absolutely clear who won’
She went on: “You will spend the rest of your life in a supermax prison. It’s absolutely clear who won.”

And she said it was proper he will be kept away from outsiders, unable to speak publicly again.

“Mr. Moussaoui, you came here to be a martyr in a great big bang of glory,” she said, “but to paraphrase the poet T.S. Eliot, instead you will die with a whimper.”

“You will never get a chance to speak again and that’s an appropriate ending.”

Brinkema sentenced Moussaoui to six life terms without the chance of parole.

She informed him of his right to appeal the sentence and said she would ask his court-appointed lawyers to file the required notice as a precaution before relieving them from the case. “I believe it would be an act of futility,” she said of an appeal, “but you do have a right.”

I'm all for what Judge Brinkema said, personally. I'm glad that this idiot didn't get to become a martyr, and I'm glad that he escaped the denial of no "cruel and unusual punishment". Had he been sentenced to death, would any of us really have been happy with a simple lethal injection death? I wouldn't have, just as I thought it too kind for Tim McVeigh. He's going to be in 23-hour-a-day ISOLATION. He won't be able to prosyletize or do little. The only worry I have, though I don't see it going anywhere, is the upcoming French actions and legal maneuverings now set into motion by Moussaoui's mother, Aicha El Wafi:

Aicha El Wafi, speaking on French radio, said Moussaoui's conviction by a U.S. jury over the Sept. 11 attacks was "the worst thing that could happen to a mother."

"I feel nothing. I am dead, because my son was wrongly convicted," El Wafi said in brief comments to France-Info radio after the ruling came down.
El Wafi's lawyer, Patrick Baudouin, said she planned a news conference on Thursday in Paris, where she had returned recently from a trip to the United States.

Baudouin expressed delight that the jury did not hand down a death penalty for Moussaoui, a Frenchman of Moroccan descent and the only person charged in the United States over the Sept. 11 attacks.

Baudouin vowed a legal battle to bring Moussaoui home.

"We will pursue unrelentingly a request to French authorities that they demand a return of Zacarias Moussaoui to France," he told The Associated Press. "So the fight isn't over — far from it — it is only beginning."

While a death penalty "would have only added barbarity upon barbarity," Baudouin said that the life sentence was also "extremely severe and disproportionate."

"That said, I can't be happy with the sentence handed down — life in prison is extremely severe and disproportionate to the acts that can really be attributed to Zacarias Moussaoui," he said.

This is a typical view of "punishment" in modern Europe, unfortunately

Meanwhile, the French Embassy in Washington said France is offering Moussaoui the consular protection he deserves as a French national, but so far he has not asked for it.

In a press communique, the embassy said it had dispatched the consul general from Washington and an embassy official to every session of the trial.

"We repeat our complete willingness to meet once again with Mr. Moussaoui, as part of the exercise of his consular protection, should he express the wish for such a meeting, which he has not done thus far," the communique said.

OK, so the French want him extradited and subject to their justice system, though they are respecting our justice system's decision as one of a "sovereign state". At least someone has officially commented that we are a sovereign nation, to me THAT'S big news. We should send that statement to the folks at MECHA, aka the fans of the mythical land of "Aztlan".

The extradition, as we all know, will never happen. But with Ahmadinejad running around and alliances neeeded, I don't relish any fight over someone like Moussaoui. He IS technically a French citizen, but he left France to travel far and wide in his quest to become a jihadi. Had he been foreign born and returned to France, they probably would have deported him, as they actually do to many of the jihadis who land in their countries. But as for this bad pilot who didn't even want to LEARN how to land, we know he's staying right here. But why add more fuel to the fire, especially with the NPR crowd here in the US who can't stop kissing up to any nation across the pond to save their lives? I don't want to start seeing Liberal columnists and pundits arguing on the side of the French or Moussaoui's mother on this one, and we know how fast perception of news stories in the mainstream press here and abroad.

Let's hope that ALL of this "dies with a whimper". And on that note, I'm going to make my plans to go and see "Flight 93" tonight at last.

Washington State Diversity Calender Honors Isoroku Yamamoto, Lenin, Karl Marx and Ho Chi Minh

According to the Yakima Herald-Republic:

A "diversity calendar" published by the state Department of Corrections that lists the birthdays of several controversial historical figures, including the Japanese commander who planned the attack on Pearl Harbor, has angered at least one employee and Sen. Jim Honeyford, who called it a "personal affront to veterans."

Honeyford, R-Sunnyside, wrote Corrections Director Harold Clarke requesting an explanation for why the April and May calendars recognize Isoroku Yamamoto, Lenin, Karl Marx and Ho Chi Minh.

The monthly calendars are a part of the department's "workplace diversity program" and are sent to agency employees only. Many state agencies have diversity programs to promote tolerance and understanding of different races, cultures, religions and ethnicities.

When questioned about why these particular individuals were included in the calender Gary Larson, at the Department of Corrections, fell back on the position that "diversity" means "value free:"

"Basically, the purpose of this calendar was meant to be an instructional tool that just lists people who had an impact on the world and provoke thought. The intent was certainly not to be offensive to veterans or anyone else," he said. "One of the goals of diversity is that we co-exist in the world with people we disagree with."

Another figure who was included was Eva Peron. Since honoring fascist demogogues is also diverse, it's surprising they didn't include Adolf Hitler. Hitler's birthday was on April 20 and he certainly had "an impact on the world."

However, even the diversity amoralists have limits. In complaining about the calender Holbrook hit the "reply to all" button. Withing half an hour the "diversity" Gestapo arrived at his office:

"In a half hour, a supervisor showed up at my desk and said my e-mail was an inappropriate use of e-mail."

Holbrook, a union shop steward, said he's not worried about being fired. Larson declined to comment on Holbrook's reprimand.

"Co-existing in the world with people we disagree with," unless the "people" in question are real Americans.

A Day of Mourning

Today is the anniversary of the murder of Pim Fortuyn, murdered four years ago in Hilversum, Netherlands by Far-Left activist Volkert van der Graaf. I have tried checking all of the news, but there is of yet no mention of the annual march held in memory of him. I will be getting pictures and details of the march from a Dutch friend soon, and will post more fully on my site later. But I think it important to remember what happened to a rare and brave European politician who opposed Islamic encroachment in his country as a threat to the rights of Dutch citizens.

Fortuyn was himself not a right winger, as the media has smeared him constantly, but an openly gay reformed Marxist. His concern lay in the fact that Muslims in his country had no tolerance at all for women, homosexuals, or the tolerant society that the Dutch had worked so hard to create, which he loved. I'm sure that the irony is lost on the far-lefters in Europe that it was a product of their OWN intolerance which led to the murder of one who was risking his life to fight intolerance itself. Theo van Gogh, it must also be remembered, made a film about this black day in Dutch history prior to his film Submission, and both led to the ire of the Muslim community, members of which later killed him even more savagely. Pim at least did not suffer as he was shot numerous times, but mainly to his head.

Still we cannot forget that he is the man who would be the current Prime Minister and a quite revolutionary leader in Europe at the present time had he not been murdered. This would have been a tremendous change in the European political landscape, and though The Netherlands was shocked out of its complacency by his murder, his memory is increasingly being swept under the proverbial rug.

I will have more later, probably on my own site, though I will post pictures of the march here as well. I would like to invite you all to view a lovely memorial film about Pim made by a Dutch Fortuynist friend of mine. The page is in Dutch, and the video of Pim is at the very bottom. Just scroll down and click on his picture. The short film begins with an interview with him in Dutch, but continues on with numerous clips of him from television in life set to music. I love getting to see this charismatic hero of mine as he was in life, as he made the news here only a few times before his murder.

For the video, please go here and scroll to his picture: Pim Fortuyn Video

Divide Jerusalem? Liberalism bespoils everything it touches

Can Israel be saved from itself? I am still trying to figure out the election. But this? Jerusalem? Is nothing sacred to the Israeli leftists? Liberalism, as the US and most countries of the world, bespoils everything it touches.

Israel's new government has outlined the clearest picture yet of how it plans to divide the holy city of Jerusalem and abandon much of the West Bank in its move to separate from the Palestinians.

The Jews are victims of their own "enlightenment." This road to hell may very well be paved with good intentions but leftist Jews are suicidal. The following proposal is TERRIBLE. I strongly urge my readers to campaign vigorously against dividing Jerusalem here. Woe is me.

Israel Offers Outline to Divide Jerusalem

JERUSALEM - Israel's new government has outlined the clearest picture yet of how it plans to divide the holy city of Jerusalem and abandon much of the West Bank in its move to separate from the Palestinians.

Otniel Schneller _ an architect of the plan _ said in interviews this week with The Associated Press that his blueprint would give most of Jerusalem's Arab neighborhoods to the Palestinians while keeping the predominantly Jewish areas for Israel.

"Those same neighborhoods will, in my assessment, be central to the makeup of the Palestinian capital ... al-Quds," Schneller said, calling Jerusalem by its Arabic name. "We will not divide Jerusalem, we will share it." hat tip Michael

Up his meds.

UPDATE: American Thinker has more on this land for foolish self delusion here;

Caroline Glick, columnist for the Jerusalem Post, has written a serious paper exposing the risks inherent in Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s “Convergence “ plan for the West Bank. That plan calls for an Israeli withdrawal from most (90% or more) of the West Bank (all but the areas encompassed by the new security barrier), with some continued IDF presence in the Jordan Valley (at least in the short term).

Less clear is what Olmert plans to do in Jerusalem.

Glick argues in her paper published by the Center for Security Policy in Washington D.C., that the Gaza withdrawal has been a security disaster for Israel, and for its ostensibly pro-American neighbors (Egypt and Jordan, in particular). A terrorist final four of Al Qaeda, Hizbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad are now all operating freely in Gaza, and more advanced weaponry is pouring across the Egyptian/Gaza border crossing in Rafah. The same scenario would almost certainly play out after an Israeli withdrawal from most of the West Bank, putting major Israeli population centers and its international airport within range of enhanced Palestinian rocket capability.

Glick argues that this second Israeli disengagement, from an area almost 20 times the size of Gaza, would be viewed and broadcast by the jihadist forces as a huge victory over both Israel and the United States. It would also serve as a major recruiting tool for their efforts to destroy Israel, overthrow Arab governments in the Middle East, drive the US from Iraq, and undermine Western nations in Europe, and other continents.

The Gaza withdrawal was carried out in August 2005 by Prime Minister Sharon when the Palestinian Authority was led by Mahmoud Abbas, the hoped for Palestinian moderate who was hailed as the Israeli peace partner that Yassar Arafat never was. Abbas, while still around, is more of a figurehead today in the Hamas-run Palestinian Authority regime, who can be trotted out to Western nation donors as evidence that the PA is still functional, and deserves new money. Sharon is in an irreversible coma, with Ehud Olmert having replaced him, and now heading a coalition government largely dependent on other parties, (Kadimah won fewer than a quarter of the seats in the recent Knesset election).

Unlike the removal of 8,000 settlers from Gaza, Olmert’s plan for a West Bank disengagement would require the destruction of dozens of settlements and the transfer of as many as 65,000 settlers to the area within the Israeli security barrier.

Read it all. It ain't good. But MarcH is, thanks for the tip. And Glick is a national treasure.

What The Hell Are You Talking About, Reform Islam? Are You Fucking Nuts?

Robert Spencer has a post up this morning about the possibility of reforming Islam:

Everyone is looking for Islamic reformers and attaching massive hopes to Islamic reform. The thirst to find such people is so great, and the ignorance of Islam so widespread, that Westerners are ready to embrace and trumpet anyone who says some reassuring things -- even if he has no following, or only a tiny following, in the Islamic world, or if he is hounded and hunted as a heretic by the adherents of various Islamic orthodoxies, or if his prescription for reform is self-contradictory and unworkable.

Chebel's other recommendations are excellent. I hope they are adopted. But will a return to the original Islam really result in an intellectual flowering and enable the idea of violent jihad to be discarded? The Qur'an considers death "not a noble thing"? Yet it instructs Muslims to "kill the unbelievers wherever you find them" (9:5), promises Paradise to those who "kill and are killed" for Allah (9:111), and taunts the Jews that if they are really chosen of Allah, they will love death: "Say (O Muhammad): O ye who are Jews! If ye claim that ye are favoured of Allah apart from (all) mankind, then long for death if ye are truthful" (62:6).

And Muhammad, of course, was a warrior. He fought in battles, he ordered the assassinations of his enemies, and he blessed those who carried out his wishes by killing those enemies. This is all readily established from Islamic sources -- and you can't get any more "original" in Islam than the example of Muhammad himself.

I have discussed here before the fact that I am considering writing a biography of Muhammad. I set it aside for awhile, but now I have a proposal in with a publisher; they're considering it. More and more I think such a book is necessary, since we hear from good people like Chebel that a return to original Islam will solve the problems of the Islamic world, and yet we also hear from the jihadists that it is they who are following the mandates of true, original Islam. Accordingly this is a question that needs to be resolved, and has large implications for public policy.

There's no way the Shia and Salafi Freaks will work together right?

The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, also known as the Hitler-Stalin Pact or Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact or Nazi-Soviet Pact and formally known as the Treaty of Nonaggression between Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, was a non-aggression treaty between the German Third Reich and the Soviet Union. It was signed in Moscow on August 23, 1939, by the Soviet foreign minister Vyacheslav Molotov and the German foreign minister Joachim von Ribbentrop. The mutual non-aggression treaty lasted until Operation Barbarossa of June 22, 1941, when Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union.

Although officially labeled a "non-aggression treaty", the pact included a secret protocol, in which the independent countries of Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Romania were divided into spheres of interest of the parties. The secret protocol explicitly assumed "territorial and political rearrangements" in the areas of these countries. Subsequently all the mentioned countries were invaded, occupied or forced to cede part of their territory by either the Soviet Union, Germany, or both.

New Russian comedians make debut..."Cheney reignites Cold War"

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A speech by Vice President Dick Cheney strongly critical of the Kremlin marks the start of a new Cold War that could drive Moscow away from its new-found Western allies, the Russian press said on Friday.

200px-Crains.jpgIn shocked reaction to the harshest U.S. criticism of Moscow for years, commentators said Washington had created an anti-Russian cordon of Western-aligned states stretching from the Baltic almost to the Caspian Sea.

The Kremlin, in a reaction within hours of Cheney's delivery in Vilnius, said the speech, which was full of accusations that Moscow was limiting human rights and using its energy riches to blackmail the world, was "completely incomprehensible."

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov declined to comment directly on Friday when asked about Cheney, but said the meeting of former communist satellites that the vice president had addressed appeared to be "united against someone."

Sudan is the most vulnerable country in the world

Sudan is the more vulnerable country in the whole world. Then comes 2nd. Congo, 3rd, Ivory Coast, 4th Irak, 7th Afghanistan. Le Monde is very interested in underlining the bad situation in Iraq and Afghanistan, but does not really make any real mention to the situation in Ivory Coast, in which France has taken a very important part, and the French army has been "affected" by the violent deaths (that is murders) of innocent people by members of it. But no, let blame America ONLY, not first....

27 Propositions For Reforming Islam

North African anthropologist Malek Chebel has some ideas on how to reform Islam, and he's speaking out on them (via Memri):

In his Manifesto for an Enlightened Islam (Manifeste pour un islam des lumières), Chebel puts forth 27 proposals for extensively reforming Islam. He turns to the values of the 18th-century European Enlightenment for guidance, when rationalism and secularism guided the drive towards cultural, social and political progress.

Chebel’s first two propositions set the principles of reform: a new interpretation of the Koran, and the preeminence of reason over creed. However, he dismisses atheism, noting that “nothing very important is achieved outside the framework of religion.” [1]

Chebel calls for putting an end to violence in the name of Islam; for renouncing Jihad, which is, in his eyes, immoral; for abolishing all fatwas calling for death; and for abolishing Islamic corporal punishment.

Chebel stands against female genital mutilation and for banning slavery and trafficking in human beings in the Arab world; for strict punishment of the perpetrators of honor crimes and for promoting the status of women.

Most of Chebel’s propositions deal with politics: He advocates an independent judiciary, the preeminence of the individual over the Islamic nation, and the struggle against political assassinations in an effort to promote democracy in the Arab world. He also advocates fundamental cultural changes, such as turning freedom of thought into a Muslim value, renouncing the cult of personality, respecting the other, and fighting corruption.

His other propositions address technology, bioethics, ecology, and the media. The last one reaffirms the preeminence of human beings over religion. Chebel’s propositions aim at providing keys to a modern, reformed, enlightened Islam.

Should Reformists Use Apostasy?

One of the comments here earlier got me thinking about the question of apostasy and whether reformist Muslims should begin using apostasy to target the jihadists and terrorists in the faith.

I'm doing a sort of survey on it on my blog. Feel free to contribute.

The Rebellion Against Reason

From The Brussels Journal and it's excellent:

Arguably, the success of Western Civilization and of its derivates can be attributed to the triumph of reason over irrationality in the course of its development. This process had its modest beginnings in the Middle Ages (at the outset of which Europe had a “traditional civilization,” meaning that it resembled all other previous and contemporary cultures). The movement then accelerated, and so it transformed its original environment through the Enlightenment and the eras that followed it. All through this there evolved a parallel and contrary trend. Its modern phase harks back to Rousseau. It continued with the “racialists” and scored with the Leninist version of Marxism and National Socialism as well as Fascism.

Nowadays the tradition of applying reason to find the best path leading to reasonable goals is being threatened. Worse, the patient polishing of positions while striving to evaluate ways and means regardless of where the conclusion might take one, is frowned upon. Just think of how the rational is depicted as “insensitive” and how facts that challenge someone’s doctrine which supersedes proof is qualified as an insult. How often do you hear arguments that are the equivalent of proclaiming: “The earth is flat. This my opinion. You say it is round. That is your opinion. We are equals. Thus my opinion is as good as yours.” Preempting discourse, arbitrary assertions abound. Challenging them is taken as an offense and the disapproval of it is demonstrated by staging extortionary protests spiced by riots.

Iran Is Going Down

Atlas has a post up this morning about President Bush's statement of "unshakable faith":

America will never desert the state of Israel, President Bush said last night, sending an unambiguous signal to the ruling mullahs in Iran - who are developing a nuclear weapon capability in the teeth of international pressure - that their threats to destroy Israel will be fiercely resisted.

"America's commitment to Israel's security is strong, enduring, and unshakable," Mr. Bush said in a speech to the American Jewish Committee, which was celebrating its centennial at Washington's National Building Museum, and while sitting alongside the German chancellor, Angela Merkel.

He said America and Israel were "natural allies and these ties will never be broken."
In his first major foreign policy speech for some time, Mr. Bush made clear his words were intended to be heeded by the Tehran regime and its president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who declared in October that the Jewish state should be "wiped off the map."

America would be unflinching in its commitment to defend Israel's right to exist and to ensure that the mullahs would not gain possession of a nuclear weapon. Iran already has obtained missile technology from the North Korean communists capable of reaching the capitals of Europe.

Mr. Bush said he was concerned by the direction Iran is heading. "We are concerned because the Iranian regime is repressing its people, sponsoring terrorists, destabilizing the region, threatening Israel, and defying the world with its ambitions for nuclear weapons," he said. "America will continue to rally the world to confront these threats."

The president also reiterated his determination not to deal with terrorists, including the Palestinian Arab government dominated by the Hamas terrorist group. New York Sun

At the same time as America is expressing "unshakable faith" in Israel, Israel seems to be losing faith in itself. The plan to divide Jerusalem strikes me as a frightening turn of events.

Reminds me of the Roman centurions who cast lot for Christ's clothes as he hung on the cross. I wouldn't want to carry such Karma, but Olmert seems to think he can bear it.

6M African Muslims convert to Xtianity annually

Symposium Report: Part Two

Brigitte Gabriel
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

At the April 29, 2006 America's Truth Forum, the first speaker (online bio) was Brigitte Gabriel, a tiny woman who spoke with convincing passion. She brought the attendees to tears as she spoke of her experiences during the Islamic revolution in her native land of Lebanon. Ms. Gabriel maintained that the worldwide Islamic revolution began in Lebanon, some four years before the 1979 revolution in Iran.

Before the takeover, sometimes referred to as a civil war, Lebanon was a republic, often referred to as "the Paris of the Middle East," and a nation of multiculturalism and diversity. Multicultural and diverse — Sound familiar?

In 1970, Lebanon took in various Muslim refugees. These welcomed refugees, who never intended to assimilate and who had another agenda, became a majority, and in Ms. Gabriel's words,

“Outside and inside Muslims put their heads together."

Ms. Gabriel went through her 9/11 when she was ten years old:

"I knew I was wanted dead because I was born a Christian."
From the ages of ten through seventeen, she and her family lived in an eight-by-ten bomb shelter underground—no bathrooms, no light—and ate grass to stay alive; to bring water back to the shelter where she and her parents were hiding, Ms. Gabriel, just a child, had to crawl under snipers’ bullets. In the middle of the night, Israelis would come to bring real food and to minister medical aid; Ms. Gabriel believes that if not for these Israelis she and her family would have perished in that hole in the ground.

Many of the monstrosities committed during Lebanon's takeover were never reported by the media. For example, the revolutionists would capture a family with a small baby and kill them in a horrifying manner: one of a baby’s legs tied to the father and the other leg to the mother, then the parents forced apart, thereby pulling apart their own child and watching themselves kill their baby.

When Ms. Gabriel was thirteen years old, shortly after they took shelter in their hole in the ground, her family got word that they would most likely die the next day. In preparation for her death and burial, and so as to look good for her own funeral, the young girl dressed in her best dress—her Easter dress, blue with white flowers—and her mother put a matching ribbon in her hair. The family waited to die. The attack didn’t come, and in 1982, Israelis entered Lebanon and rescued Brigitte Gabriel.

Excerpt from Ms. Gabriel's web site:

"We are facing an enemy that uses children as human bombs, mothers as suicide bombers, and men driven by the glory of death and the promise of eternal sexual bliss in heaven. We are fighting an enemy that loves death more than we love life....So many times in history in the last 100 years, citizens have stood by and done nothing allowing evil to prevail...[N]ow it is time to stand up against the terror of religious bigotry and intolerance."

Read more about Brigitte Gabriel at American Congress for Truth.

And if you ever have the opportunity to hear this lady speak in person, go! Ms. Gabriel speaks with passion and, as a survivor of Islamic terrorism, gives unique and unforgettable insights.

The same geopolitical ideology which led to what Ms. Gabriel described has a strong base in today's Western world. The followers of Allah really believe that they have the religious duty to bring about the establishment of the worldwide caliphate, Islamic utopia. In that regard, radicals and "moderates" have the same goal.

Stop The Dangerous "Christian Missionary Octopus": 16,000 "Apostates" Per Day

A Libyan Islamic scholar says Muslims are converting to Christianity at the rate of 16,000 per day:

This translation of a televised conversation reveals a rare glimpse into the outlook of Muslim scholars who are concerned about Christianity’s growth. The invited guest is Sheikh Ahmad Al Katani; the president of The Companions Lighthouse for the Science of Islamic Law in Libya, which is an institution specializing in graduating imams and Islamic preachers.

Katani starts off describing the overall problem:

Islam used to represent, as you previously mentioned, Africa’s main religion and there were 30 African languages that used to be written in Arabic script. The number of Muslims in Africa has diminished to 316 million, half of whom are Arabs in North Africa. So in the section of Africa that we are talking about, the non Arab section, the number of Muslims does not exceed 150 million people.

When we realize that the entire population of Africa is one billion people, we see that the number of Muslims has diminished greatly from what it was in the beginning of the last century. On the other hand, the number of Catholics has increased from one million in 1902 to 329 million 882 thousand (329,882,000). Let us round off that number to 330 million in the year 2000.

As to how that happened, well there are now 1.5 million churches whose congregations account for 46 million people.

In every hour, 667 Muslims convert to Christianity. Everyday, 16,000 Muslims convert to Christianity. Ever year, 6 million Muslims convert to Christianity. These numbers are very large indeed ...From what I have heard from reliable sources, six million may be too low. Reliable accounts say that one hundred thousand Africans convert to Christianity per day, though not all of them come from Islam.

Then Katani says Muslims should build schools before mosques, in order to build the worshipper (Muslim) before the building. Why? To stop the the dangerous “Christian missionary octopus.”

Hey Mo, A Dozen Jihadis Are On Their Way To Kill The Danish Cartoonists

World Net Daily reports:

WASHINGTON – A dozen young terrorists have departed Afghanistan, bound first for Iran and then Europe, where their mission will be to hunt down the Danish cartoonists responsible for drawing anti-Muhammad sketches, according to a report in Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.

The report was passed on by Hamid Mir, the Pakistani journalist who has interviewed al-Qaida leaders Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri and who just visited the no-man's land along the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

While there, he was told by Taliban sources in south Waziristan that 12 young men – nine Afghans and three Pakistanis – are on their way to Europe to kill the Danish cartoonists. While some carry Afghan passports and others carry Iranian passports, all will travel through Iran on their way to Europe, he reports.

All 12 have recorded the video messages that will be aired publicly if they hit their targets.
In his most recent audio communiqué, aired on Al-Jazeera last week, Osama bin Laden called for a global Muslim boycott of American goods similar to the recent boycott of Danish products after the publication there of caricatures of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad.
He also said the artists who drew those offending cartoons should be handed over to him for trial and punishment.

Days before that television broadcast, Mir predicted an imminent communiqué from bin Laden to be released on the Arab television network.

Earlier this year, 12 cartoons depicting Muhammad were published in Denmark's Jyllands-Posten newspaper. Within weeks, the cartoons became an international controversy resulting in embassies being torched, Christians being slaughtered and fatwas being issued against those responsible.

Morocco Names 50 Female Muslim Preachers

Morocco is making a somewhat noble attempt to moderate Islam:

RABAT, Morocco - Fifty women have graduated as Muslim preachers, part of a concerted effort by authorities in Morocco to promote moderate Islam in a country grappling with extremism.

Another 150 men graduated Wednesday as imams, or prayer leaders. The 50 female religious guides, or morchidat, won't lead prayers in mosques, which is reserved for men, but will be sent around the country to teach women — and, occasionally, men — about Islam.

While Moroccan officials said the appointment of female state preachers was a rare experiment in the Muslim world, others said it was unprecedented in Morocco and the majority of other Arab countries.

"Your duty ... is to prevent intrusion by foreign agents trying to violate our values and traditions," Ahmed Taoufiq, minister of Islamic Affairs, told the graduates Wednesday.

"You must be committed to the faith and politics of the state which the people have chosen. This choice includes the policies of the Amir al Moumenin (Commander of the Faithful) who runs deep in our veins," said Taoufiq, referring to the religious title of King Mohammed VI.

The training of the preachers is part of a campaign launched by the young king, a descendant of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad, to strengthen state-controlled mosques while undermining radical clerics who preach Islamic extremism. He has vowed that no foreign religious doctrine would be tolerated in the North African kingdom, which is a close ally of the United States and a partner in its war against terrorism.

As is true with any good news coming out of the world of Islam, it is probably not a good idea for me to get my hopes up. How long before there is a pyre with fifty female heads piled in a pyramid?

Dubya approves of Dubai's buying Doncasters

I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more attention, in sharp contrast to the attempted port deal Bush wanted to approve of with Dubai. But now, while everyone was focusing their attention on the illegal immigration problem, Dubya went along and approved of Dubai's buying the army weapons manufacturer Doncasters.

RightWinged.Com says it well:
I find it hard to believe that briefing lawmakers is the only reason this thing seems to be going off without a hitch. Just seems weird after the shocking amount of outrage and media coverage of the ports deal.
Yes it does. This can't be allowed to go by without any outrage either.

The problem with the BBC

The BBC just completed a third-party study on how impartial its coverage is of the Israeli/Palestinian Arab conflict.

There seems some disagreement as to what the conclusions are (the Times claimed the study concluded that BBC coverage favored Israel, which does not seem to be quite true.) There was one welcome recommendation that the BBC use the word "terrorism" when appropriate.

From reading the report itself, it is obvious that the authors tried very hard to ensure that the BBC's coverage was "balanced." In fact, that was one of the purposes of the report:
...[T]he BBC [is] committed, as our terms of reference make clear, to fairness, impartiality and balance. (While fairness and impartiality are legal requirements, balance is a concept adopted by the BBC in seeking to give effect to them.)

And much of the report details suggestions on how exactly to get balanced reporting out of an asymmetrical conflict.

The problem is that the premise is wrong.

The other border and security

maine-canda_border.jpg From Statfor:

Last week, the U.S. State Department released the 2005 edition of its annual "Country Reports on Terrorism" document, and the chapter dealing with the Western Hemisphere provides some interesting insights when the entry on Canada is compared to that for Mexico. For example, the report states: "Terrorists have capitalized on liberal Canadian immigration and asylum policies to enjoy safe haven, raise funds, arrange logistical support, and plan terrorist attacks." There is nothing even vaguely resembling such an indictment in the section on Mexico, which notes: "The Mexican government worked closely with the United States on all aspects of counterterrorism security and prevention."

Well, well ... the urge to throw up one's hands along with feeling the gorge rise continues. However, this is not an option.

"20th Hijacker" Zacarias Moussaoui Gets Life in Prison

(No 72 raisins for him)

This was the best possible outcome, and I'm proud of the jury and the relatives of the victims of 9/11. The relatives of the victims almost unanimously agreed that life in prison is the most appropriate punishment. Kudos from a Brit to the American people.

"America you lost, I won" he said as he left the court, and clapped his hands. Call me cynical, but I think he would have said that regardless.

Update: Check out the BBC's biography of Moussaoui

Zacarias Moussaoui was frustrated in France. He felt that his Moroccan Muslim origins were preventing him from achieving his ambitions; he would often complain to his brother that he was the victim of racial discrimination.

The BBC gets to the root cause of this jihad.

His only aim when he first arrived in the UK was to improve his English and further his education. He enrolled at South Bank University where he studied for an MA in International Business Studies.

Bless. He was such nice guy, I'm sure.

The Koran Vs. Mein Kampf

Joshuapundit compares the ideas contained in Hitler's book with those in the Koran:

Mein Kampf- States that Germans are the superior race of mankind and that Germany is destined to rule the world , and dominate all other races and nations.

Q'uran-States that Islam and Muslims are the superiors of mankind and that Islam is divinely mandated to rule the world and dominate all other races, creeds and nations.

Mein Kampf-Says that the German State is to have control over every aspect of life. Says all individuals must submit to the State

The Q'uran-Says that Islam and Sharia is to have control over every aspect of life. Says all individuals must submit to Islam.

Mein Kampf-Says that Germans have the duty to claim their divinely appointed place in the world by whatever means necessary. Puts loyalty to the Volk(the race)above all other ethical considerations.

The Q'uran-Says that Muslims have a duty to wage Jihad and to advance Islam's domination over the world (Dar Islam and Dar Harb) by any means necessary. Places loyalty to fellow Muslims(Umma)and Islam above all other ethical considerations.

There's more, much more. Go read the rest.

Jihad Bumper Sticker: If You Can't Beat Them, Join Them

Thanks to Stogie at SaberPoint, for creating this for me. (Click image to enlarge).

Stogie says:

CAIR may want to order a few thousand of them; if so, I'll split the proceeds with you, Pas!

Sure, Stog. Might as well make a few bucks while Western Civilizations goes down in flames.

But seriously (?), I'm thinking of putting this bumber sticker on my own car. Why? Because, I just think it would trip people out to see a white guy in a nice car making such a statement. In fact, I think it would scare them. And, people need to be scared a bit these days.

Tell me, is this a completely insane idea, or is there some bizarre logic to it?

What do you think will happen? Will my car get keyed up? Will people try to run me off the road? Will a cop stop me every five minutes and ask me, what the fuck is wrong with me?

Me: Oh, Officer, I'm just trying to get the message out that Radical Islam is dangerous.

Policeman: Well then, why don't you have a bumber sticker that says, "Radical Islam is Dangerous."

Me: Because, I've been saying that for years, and no one is fucking listening, so I thought I'd use a little reverse psychology.

Policeman: I don't get it. I'm taking you in for Islamophobia. You have the right, no, you are required to remain silent. Anything you say, or don't say from now on will be held against you in a Poltically Correct Court of Sharia. If you wish to have an attorney present, we will cut off your head. If for any reason, you do have an attorney present, we will cut of his head too.

Me: But, I do (heart) Radical Islam. I do. I do.

Sweden And France Tell Hamas, No Visas For You

They did the right thing:

HELSINKI (AFP) - Swedish Prime Minister Goeran Persson has said two leading Hamas officials hoping to visit Sweden this month would not be allowed entry after France denied them a visa.

Sweden and France are signatories of the so-called Schengen accords between EU members and others, which grant freedom of travel within their borders to visitors having obtained a visa from any other member country.

Hamas parliamentary group spokesman Salah Muhammad al-Bardawil and Hamas official Mohammad al-Rantissi were to visit Malmoe in southern Sweden on May 16 following an invitation by a local association.

Kinder, Gentler Islamo-fascism!

What is written on the white-board behind revolutionary guard commander Talaii (in larger black font)

If you see women with thick lipstick, don't use a razor blade to slash their faces (as has been permissible and very much done by the disciplinary forces patrolling the cities), use Kleenex.

If you see too much makeup on women's faces, don't spray their faces with acid (as has been permissible and very much done by the disciplinary forces patrolling the cities), use rosewater.

If women are wearing too short of a dress, give them a free chador (veil).

If their scarves is too short, don't use the slogan of: "yaa roo sari, yaa too sari" (which means "either wear a scarf, or get smacked on the head"... this has been one of the regime's most disgusting comments to Iranians women since the very early days of the revolution). Either cover their entire hair or gently cut their hair off.

The caption, in the bottom of the photo reads: The head of the police force of Tehran said: "The Irshad (guidance) Patrols should not treat people with an antagonistice approach."

This is their attempt at a kinder, gentler Mullacracy!

The New York Sun, of course!

From today’s New York Sun: Three Myths About Islam, by Edward N. Luttwak.

Many people know many things about Islam and its history. Unfortunately, much of what they know happens to be untrue. The great Jewish Orientalists of the 19th century, such as Gustav Weil and Ignaz Goldziher, can be blamed for myth no. 1: that Islam is especially tolerant of other religions. Their scholarship was immense but they were too eager to praise Islam to remain objective. …”

Nevertheless, sections on Islam in American college texts are full of fantasies about Islamic tolerance, often featuring a mythic Andalusia where all was wonderfully multicultural until the wicked Christians arrived. Absurdly, some of those same texts celebrate, as yet another example of tolerance, the welcome that the fleeing Maimonides received in Fatimid Egypt: He had fled from Andalusia, of course, then the scene of one of Islam's recurrent outbursts of murderous fanaticism; we are living through another. It is perfectly true that until quite recently, Christians were even more intolerant than Muslims, …”

Myth no. 2 is that Muslim extremists are not attacking us, but only counterattacking, so that if non-Muslims would only stop provoking them, all would be well. … Islam has been on the attack from its birth in the seventh century. … The only reason the continuity of Muslim aggression is news to some is because until recently almost all Muslim countries were under European colonial rule or subjected to European protectorates. … With de-colonialization, the violence resumed. It has now reached virtually all places where Muslims are in contact with non-Muslims, so that there are almost daily reports of outrages from Nigeria, Sudan, and Egypt in Africa; from Iraq (Christians are fleeing the country), Israel, and Lebanon in the Middle East; from India, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia.”

“But Muslims certainly cannot be faulted for Myth no. 3: that Islam is a religion of peace. That myth is strictly the creation of Western liberals and especially American educational administrators, librarians, and academics determined to invent their own peaceful Islam, in which even Jihad is always or at least mostly an entirely nonviolent spiritual struggle. … None of the three myths can survive the light of competent scholarship, and the author of "Islamic Imperialism: A History" … Efraim Karsh, of King's College, London, is much more than merely competent.”

See also “An Unholy Alliance” in the Sun where Fred Siegel reviews the latest book by Melanie Phillips. “Like American universities and with similar results, much of Europe has been in the grip of a self-defeating multiculturalism in which liberal ideals are turned toward the illiberal ends of Islamic extremism. …”

Wait! The Sun has more … on Ayaan Hirsi Ali! I’ll let Atlas explain.

I also have an article on the denial of the Islamic threat. The New York Sun is a rare exception. During previous threats, such as the rise of communism in the 1930s, there were a few brave people and publications that could face the ominous threat amidst the general willful blindness of most intellectuals and major publications. Today, we find writers of integrity in the New York Sun.

Jeep jihadist now indicted

News 14 Carolina (via Confederate Yankee and Michelle Malkin) reports that Mohammed Taheri-Azar, the Iranian Muslim student who attacked people at Chapel Hill Unversity with a Jeep Cherokee, has now been charged:
Mohammed Taheri-Azar, a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, also was indicted on four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Taheri-Azar is accused of driving through the gathering spot, known as the Pit, on March 3, hitting nine people. He has said his actions were in retaliation for the deaths of Muslims throughout the world caused by the United States.
Like Confederate, I too wonder if Chapel Hill would be willing to stoop as low as providing money for that creep's defense, when there are much better things it can be spent upon, like University security.

Why Israel's creation is a "naqba" for Arabs

I wrote this last year for my blog and it is worth posting here on Israel's Independence Day.

Among all of the events of Arab and Muslim history, the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 appears to be unique.

Muslims have suffered defeats in war beforehand. Christians in Spain defeated the Muslims in the 15th century, Napoleon conquered Egypt, European nations occupied most of North Africa, and the Ottoman Empire kept losing territory and influence from the 17th century until its total disappearance after World War I.

Yet only one event, involving a tiny amount of territory that was all but abandoned by the Arab world for centuries, gets the moniker "naqba", catastrophe.

In what sense is it so important? By any objective measure (number of Muslims killed, number of Muslim refugees, amount of territory involved, the margin of victory), Israel's War of Independence is barely a skirmish in the vast history of Muslim conquests and defeats. (Kuwait expelled more Palestinians in 1991 than Israel did in any war, for example.)

So, what is unique about the establishment of the State of Israel that makes Arab and Muslim blood boil so disproportionately to the actual damage done?

Only one answer makes sense. It is not that the Muslims were defeated, it is who defeated them.

Animosity between Jews and Arabs is as old as the Bible, where the descendents of Ishmael and Isaac always had problems with each other. But as is well known, for many centuries Jews did prosper under Muslim rule more than under Christian rule.

It is important to understand that as a tiny minority in Muslim and Arab countries, Jews posed no threat (and were indeed more similar to the Muslims than the Christians were.) They were clearly second-class citizens, dhimmis. There were still blood libels and other nastiness, but comparatively Jews were well off - as long as they kept their place as dhimmis.

Israel and Zionism changed everything. All of a sudden, the uppity Jews were saying that they had a right to own and control land in the Middle East - equal to the Muslims. The Arab nations could not fit that into their worldview of Jews as naturally second-class citizens, and therefore they attacked the Jews, both in Israel and in their own countries.

What's worse, the Jews had the audacity to be able to fight and win! Muslim pride could not handle such an affront. The weak Jews didn't know their place and this was what caused the Arabs to expel hundreds of thousands of Jews from their midst in the '40s and '50s - an extreme example of pure bigotry that gets next to no mention in the press nowadays.

In some ways, the 1967 war was even worse for Arab pride. They could almost, almost come up with excuses why the hated Zionists beat their combined armies in 1948, but in 1967 they all but guaranteed their people a swift and complete destruction of the Jewish state - and they were routed, by only Jews, with no help from any other country.

More attacks on Arab pride followed: Israel, in a few decades, built a modern and wildly successful society - in the very middle of the failing Arab League nations. They built farms in deserts, they created universities, they became a high-tech powerhouse, they successfully integrated Jews from all over the world. And they did this without any real natural resources. In a short time, Israel's very success at building a nation hurt Arab pride as much as its military successes.

There are two parts of the (specifically) Arab psyche that are at play here. One, as mentioned, is pride. Extreme pride precludes the possibility of admitting mistakes, or adjusting strategy. Even Sadat said that he could not have considered peace with Israel unless Egypt managed to wage a more successful war that 1967 - the Yom Kippur war was a war for pride. (Losing in war is an even bigger deal to Arabs because so much of Arab history revolves around the sword, romanticizing the best warriors.)

The second, related part that needs to be understood is that Muslims in general, and Arabs in particular, seem to have a big inferiority complex. This comes, I believe, from the rise of the West since the Middle Ages. The Arab world went from being leaders in science and art to also-rans, and the Western superiority in all secular areas kept increasing. Now, as long as Westerners stayed West, it is possible to ignore this widening gap. Excuses could be made. But when Israel came about, where a land that had been a wasteland became a modern high-tech mecca (so to speak) in such a short time, it was no longer possible to ignore the obvious lifestyle differences between the West and the Arab world. Everything that the Arab leaders told their people to keep them in place was being shown to be wrong on a daily basis - women could be successful, democracy works, the free market creates prosperity, individualism allows flexibility, Jews are smart and strong, and freedom is a better social model than despotism. Arabs who live in Israel enjoy a higher standard of living and more freedom than any Arab population in the Middle East.

This is why the creation of Israel is a "catastrophe." The threat to the Arab world is not territorial, it is existential - because freedom is not compatible with what Arab leaders want for their subjects. As long as Israel is demonized, they have a chance of convincing the people that Israel is an aberration of history, a speed-bump on the road to eventual Muslim triumph. But the freedom that Israel represents and the quality of life that Israel enjoys is a poke in the eye of Arab pride.

And the fact that it is Jews who managed to perform these miracles makes it all the more painful.

I mean, why bother at all then? "The Taliban and Al Qaeda are everywhere"

"The Taliban and Al Qaeda are everywhere," a shopkeeper, Haji Saifullah, told the commander of American forces in Afghanistan, Lt. Gen. Karl Eikenberry, as the general strolled through the bazaar of this town to talk to people. "It is all right in the city, but if you go outside the city, they are everywhere, and the people have to support them. They have no choice."

The fact that American troops are pulling out of southern Afghanistan in the coming months, and handing matters over to NATO peacekeepers, who have repeatedly stated that they are not going to fight terrorists, has given a lift to the insurgents, and increased the fears of Afghans.

Are we capable of finishing the job or are our politicians more afraid of losing elections to democrats or vice versa, or getting bad press, than they are of being patriotic while in govt service? Or is this incompetence? This is disgusting.

Primitive Justice

I have mentioned previously the appearance of shari’ah courts in Somalia, particularly Mogadishu, and their growing influence in the chaotic political environment with its warlord-based culture.

Now we have this story from the BBC about the execution of harsh Koranic justice by one of these courts:

A teenage Somali boy has stabbed to death his father’s killer in a public execution ordered by an Islamic court.

Large crowds gathered at a Koranic school in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, to watch Mohamed Moallim, 16, stab Omar Hussein in the head and throat.

Hussein had been convicted of killing the boy’s father, Sheikh Osman Moallim, after a row about Mohamed’s education.

Islamic courts have brought a semblance of order to Mogadishu, imposing Sharia law after years of rule by warlords.

However there is some opposition to the courts. A group of warlords has been fighting a militia loyal to the Islamic courts, which they accuse of links to al-Qaeda.

What I want you to notice is the approving tone with which the BBC describes the social effects of Koranic justice:

Residents in the nearby area have reported a drop in robberies, murder and general lawlessness since the court began its work, Radio HornAfrik said.

Do you think the BBC would have written so approvingly if the fathers of Swedish girls had taken the law into their own hands and dispatched the rapists of their daughters?

Do they applaud the “vigilante” Minutemen in the southwestern United States as they exercise their rights as citizens, and keep illegal aliens out of the country?

Want to take bets?

Vigilante justice is appropriate when illiterate non-white Thirld World folk administer it to each other. A little throat-cutting here, a beheading there — that’s just the way they do things in those heathen parts.

It’s a cultural thing; no need to be judgmental.

Speaking Truth To Evil: "Your Only Connection To Widows And Orphans Is That You Create Them"

The judge in the Sami al-Arian trial gave little Sami quite a lecture today:

TAMPA - U.S. District Judge James Moody imposed the maximum sentence on Sami Al-Arian Monday, calling the former university professor a "master manipulator'' who led a double life in the top ranks of Palestinian Islamic Jihad. ...

"Your only connection to orphans and widows is that you create them," Moody said. ...

Then Moody delivered the blow: "Dr Al-Arian, as usual, you speak eloquently,'' Moody said . "I find it interesting that here in public in front of everyone you praised this country ... but that's just evidence of how you operate. ... You are a master manipulator.''

Moody said Al-Arian lied about his leadership role with Palestinian Islamic Jihad and criticized him for calling the work "charity for widows and orphans."

"This trial exposed that as a lie. ... The evidence was clear in this case that you were a leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad. You were on the board of directors and an officer, the secretary,'' Moody said.

Echoing a paid government informant who testified at the trial, Moody told Al-Arian: "Your children attend the finest universities this country has to offer while you raise money to blow up the children of others.'' ...

The judge concluded his words to Al-Arian by saying that "anyone with even the slightest bit of human compassion would be sickened'' by a double suicide bombing at Beit Lid, Israel, in January 1995 that killed 22 people. But, he said Al-Arian "saw it as an opportunity to solicit more money to carry out more bombings," and wrote a letter to a Kuwaiti legislator. ...

When the courtroom emptied, Moody signed an expedited order of removal for Al-Arian, which means he will be deported as soon as he completes his sentence.

The goals of the Ikhwan (Muslim Brotherhood)

Over the last few days various contributors to the CT Blog have debated the real aims of the Muslim Brotherhood, especially in the West. Another indication of what the Ikhwan really want came just a few days ago from Sweden, where the country’s largest Muslim organization, the Brotherhood-linked Sveriges Muslimska Förbund (SMF), published a serious of demands addressed to all Swedish political parties (note the text-in Swedish only- “we demand,” not “we ask” or “we suggest”). nn_kod_egypt_050327.300w.jpgAmong its many demands, SMF stated Swedish Muslims should be given time off work for Friday prayers and Islamic holidays and that imams should approve all divorces between Muslim couples. Basically, SMF is asking for a partial introduction of sharia law in Sweden and the creation of a separate legal system for Swedish Muslim, something politicians from all sides of the Swedish political spectrum and moderate Muslim organizations have immediately condemned as completely unacceptable.
The Swedish case is hardly unique, but mirrors the demand of Brotherhood-linked organizations throughout Europe. For example, in Germany, the Islamische Gemeinschaft Deutschland (IGD), the country’s largest Muslim organization, has stated in its official publication Al Islam (here, page 48): “In the long run, Muslims cannot be satisfied with the acceptance of German family, estate, and trial law. … Muslims should aim at an agreement between the Muslims and the German state with the goal of a separate jurisdiction for Muslims.” In Great Britain, the UK Islamic Mission, has the stated goal of conducting a “continuous campaign for the establishment of Muslim family laws,” and to “establish Islamic social order in the United Kingdom in order to seek the pleasure of Allah.”

Mexican Anthem

If the video does not display properly
click here to upgrade to Flash 8

Well, folks, here I am ranting off the cuff about the immigration protests, the National Anthem being translated into Spanish, "Aztlan", etc. Once I get the hang of the editing software these will get better. But if you've been wondering where I've been the last few days, it took a LOT of work to get my little old computer to be up to this task! Anyway, here I am and another greeting on video especially to my fellow IBAers is over on my main site. Oh boy, oh boy, I'm out of the closet now, eh? Well now everyone will know what an Ionian Greek looks like! Ok, tell me if I should scrap the idea of "Vlogging", and remember, I REALLY treasure honesty. Really.

Iran says Russia and China will not back sanctions

Why worry?

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's foreign minister was quoted on Tuesday as saying that Russia and China had officially informed Tehran they would not support sanctions or military action over the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.

U.N. ambassadors from the United States, Britain and France are expected to introduce a resolution this week to legally oblige Iran to comply with U.N. Security Council demands it halt all uranium enrichment work.

When asked how far Russia and China, veto-wielding permanent members of the council, would support Washington, Manouchehr Mottaki told the Kayhan newspaper:

"The thing these two countries have officially told us and expressed in diplomatic negotiations is their opposition to sanctions and military attacks."

"At the current juncture, I personally believe no sanctions or anything like that will be on the agenda of the Security Council," he said in the interview.

Western diplomats say China and Russia will probably back a U.N. resolution demanding a halt to Iran's fuel work, but are not yet ready to back moves toward sanctions.

Further to Pastorius ..When in doubt about a course of action, always kill the jews first

Anyone in doubt about how this all ends???? I have a prediction set ...

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Israel will be Iran's first target in response to any "evil" act by the United States, a senior commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards said on Tuesday.

"We have announced that wherever America does something evil, the first place that we target will be Israel," Revolutionary Guards Rear Admiral Mohammad-Ebrahim Dehqani was quoted as saying by Iran's student news agency ISNA.

Oil climbs above $74 on Iran, fund-buying

By Barbara Lewis

LONDON (Reuters) - Oil rose above $74 a barrel on Tuesday, pushed higher by persistent fears about supply disruption, especially from Iran, and aggressive fund-buying across the commodities sector.

U.S. light, sweet crude rose 54 cents to $74.24 a barrel by 1045 GMT, while London Brent crude gained 45 cents to $74.34.

Both contracts climbed more than $1.80 a barrel on Monday.

Prices are close to the record high of $75.35 for U.S. crude touched in April, which was largely driven by concern Iran's ongoing stand-off with the West over its nuclear program could lead to disruption of its oil output.

U.N. ambassadors from the United States, Britain and France are expected this week to introduce a Security Council resolution to make Iran, the world's fourth biggest oil exporter, comply with demands to halt uranium enrichment.

Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Mohammad Hadi Nejad-Hosseinian said on Tuesday there was "some possibility" of a U.S. attack on his country over its nuclear weapons program.

He also warned crude oil prices could exceed $100 a barrel by winter as supplies cannot be increased in the short term.

hmmm I wonder what else they could be saying...

Abdullah Attacks His Teacher

In France, high school student Abdullah attacks his teacher, while his friend videotapes.

And, in Germany:

A TALL woman of 36 with long, dark hair, Greta Sommer dreads going to work each day at the Rütli school in Berlin where she teaches English. The only English words that her unruly pupils seem prepared to remember are obscenities that they shout out during class.

During a break on Wednesday she admitted: “I’m not sure how much longer I can go on.

“They turn up without pens or books,” she added of her pupils, most of them the children of immigrants from Turkey or the Arab world. “They fight, they set off fireworks, they kick in doors. There’s no point in trying to teach. If you hang up a poster, they tear it down.”

Her fellow teachers — all native Germans — feel the same way and have begged the government to close the Rütli school. “We’re completely exhausted,” they wrote in an open letter. “More teachers are off sick than students. This is a sign of unbearable pressure.”

Their plight has pushed the subject of Germany’s immigrant community to the top of the political agenda.

Angela Merkel, the chancellor, has convened an “integration summit” for this summer. On the agenda is whether the “naturalisation tests” being pioneered by two German states should be adopted nationwide.

An exam for immigrants in Hesse has prompted accusations that it is hostile to Muslims. The test includes questions such as: “In your eyes, were the perpetrators of 9/11 and the 2004 Madrid attacks terrorists or freedom fighters?”

So, in other words, the German authorities are already bending over into a prone and inviting position for the "immigrants", but all that prompts them to do is stick it in.

Wow, what a surprise.

Oh Boy, Here We Go

Top of Drudge this morning, Russia and China have officially informed Iran they will not back sanctions,

Iran says the United States is "dangerous."

Iran has strongly criticised the US at the United Nations, accusing Washington of threatening to launch a military strike against its nuclear facilities.

In a letter delivered to Secretary General Kofi Annan, Iran said the US was "openly" planning to attack Iran in breach of international law.

Officials from the five permanent members of the UN Security Council will discuss Iran in Paris on Tuesday.

In the letter to Mr Annan, Iran's ambassador to the UN criticised US President George W Bush, who has refused to rule out even a nuclear strike on Iranian targets.

US rhetoric amounted to "illegitimate and open threats to use force against the Islamic Republic of Iran," the letter said.

"These are in obvious contravention of international rules and the principles of the United Nations."

The letter referred specifically to a report in the New Yorker by journalist Seymour Hersh, which suggested US military planners were considering a "bunker-busting" nuclear strike.

The amazing thing about this is you just know the UN Security Council will take this letter with the utmost seriousness, even though Iran has been threatening to wipe Israel off the map for several months now.

Palestinian Arab "Humanitarian Crisis" continues

The poor, starving and cash-strapped Palestinian Arabs know where their priorities are.

You can almost hear their conversations....

"Do we buy food for our people? Do we pay their 'salaries'? Do we put money into venture capital, or our universities, or R&D?

"No, in a time of severely limited budget problems, we need to buy telescopic sights with infrared markers for our M-16s first."
Hundreds of combat support items were found Tuesday morning in a shipping container sent from China to the Gaza Strip. Customs officers at the Ashdod Port made the discovery while scanning the container.

The container's importers said their shipment includes sewing notions, hats and clocks. Customs officers however confiscated 300 telescopes, some of which have sights and infrared markers for long-range targets.

"We are speaking of a quantity that could upgrade the fighting capability of a whole brigade in the Palestinian Authority security forces. A telescope of this kind, fitted on an M-16 rifle, for example, improves the death ability of the weapon," customs officials said.

Muslim College Student Complain: We Are Being Taught Islamic Radicalism - British Authorities Snore

Yes, that's right, a group of Muslim studentsat Hawza Ilmiyya of London have complained that they are being taught a radical brand of their religion in an Islamic Law class:

The Times has obtained extracts from medieval texts taught to the students in which unbelievers are likened to pigs and dogs. The texts are taught at the Hawza Ilmiyya of London, a religious school, which has a sister institution, the Islamic College for Advanced Studies (ICAS), which offers a degree validated by Middlesex University. The students, who have asked to remain anonymous, study their religious courses alongside the university-backed BA in Islamic studies. They spend two days a week as religious students and three days on their university course.

The text that has upset some students is the core work in their Introduction to Islamic Law class and was written by Muhaqqiq al-Hilli, a 13thcentury scholar. The Hawza Ilmiyya website states that ‘the module aims to familiarise the student with the basic rules of Islamic law as structured by al-Hilli’. Besides likening unbelievers to filth, the al-Hilli text includes a chapter on jihad, setting down the conditions under which Muslims are supposed to fight Jews and Christians.

The text is one of a number of books that some students say they find ‘disturbing’ and ‘very worrying’. Their spokesman told The Times: ‘They are being exposed to very literalist interpretations of the Koran. These are interpretations that would not be recognised by 80 or 90 per cent of Muslims, but they are being taught in this school.

British writer, Melanie Phillips, comments:

Here are Muslims who are themselves complaining that they are being fed religious bigotry and hatred – and yet the Britsh authorities, including the Charity Commission, are nevertheless simply refusing to take any notice! So responsible Muslims are themselves being abandoned to the jihad because the British establishment simply refuses to acknowledge the true nature of the problem.

Has Britain simply got a death-wish?

Jihadi Beefcake Of The Week

Alright, I've got an announcement to make. This is something I've been dealing with for a long time. It has implications which reach into every nook and cranny of my life and being. I've been trying to push it down, down, down, but I just can't help it, it keeps coming back up like a nightmare.

Sometimes, it's better to just face that which you are afraid of head on. Even if it is shameful, and gruesome in its own way.

As many of you know I am a married man. I love my family. I love my station in life. However, I have come to the realization that I am turning gay. You may say, "You Pastorius? The guy who started the Infidel Babe of the Week? No, it could not be. "

But, alas, I'm afraid it is.

I think I will be able to hold it together for my family. I believe I will still be able to do my husbandly duty, after all, if I close my eyes and do it in certain positions, there isn't that much difference between a man and a woman.

Maybe, I'm just telling myself that.

Anyway, you are probably wondering what brought me to this place, and I must admit, it is actually the counter-Jihad work I do here at the Infidel Bloggers Alliance. You see, I keep doing these stories about these various Imams/Preachers of Hate, and there is just something about them.

You know the saying, "I love a man in a uniform"? Well, I find that I love a man in robes and headress, especially if he looks like ...

Followup on Google News

A week ago on my blog I mentioned that an Arab joke group blog, KABOBfest, was being indexed by Google News as a legitimate news site. The posting got picked up in a number of blogs and Google decided to act.

Of course, Google News could not bring itself to take away the site itself - bowing to Zionist pressure and all sets a bad precedent - so now when Google News references KABOBfest it adds "(satire)" to its name.

Which of course begs the question: Where on Google News are Scrappleface or The Onion?

If a bunch of Arabs who think the Holocaust is a hoot , who make up Jewish sounding names for their "reporters" and who don't even know how to get their own domain name separate from Blogspot can be considered something worthy of being indexed by Google, why not Infidel Bloggers Alliance? Why not Jihad Watch or Little Green Footballs?

Emailing Google does not usually get an answer, but the history of Google News choices almost invariably show that their editors have quite a leftist slant on what is considered legitimate.

Complaints and comments can be sent to Google News, where they will ignore them unless the MSM picks up on it.

Armageddon? Great, bring it on

OF ALL the threats that our messy world faces, nuclear weaponry ranks right up there. Put the Bomb together with anti-Semitism and you’ve got a combination that should make any reasonable person recoil.

No wonder the otherwise soft-spoken human rights activist Elie Wiesel recently described President Ahmadinejad of Iran as “pathologically sick”. I wish it were that simple. The problem is, the ballistic Ahmadinejad is entirely rational from the perspective of a religious fanatic.

As a zealous Shia Muslim, he is eagerly awaiting the return of the “hidden imam”....

Maybe Ahmadinejad is reactivating his country’s nuclear enrichment program precisely to incite resistance, and thereby hasten the kingdom of the messiah. “We must prepare ourselves to rule the world,” he mused recently, “and the only way to do that is to put forth views on the basis of the Expectation of the Return.” Allah’s final ambassador can’t be too far away now. Scary? Yes. Pathologically sick? Depends. To that fringe of true believers, doomsday politics makes complete sense.

The weapons of mass destruction have been found. They’re people with unshakeable faith in the coming showdown between good and evil. Left in their hands, the world is heading for a clash of Armageddons.

Read the rest. Go on, you know you want to.

Hey Dhimmis! This One's For You!

The following is a speech given by Libyan leader Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi in which he declares that Muslims are currently taking over the west from within and will soon declare an Islamic continent of Europe [MUST WATCH VIDEO - click the picture for the clip] :

Extract From Transcript :

Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi: Some people believe that Muhammad is the prophet of the Arabs or Muslims alone. This is a mistake. Muhammad is the Prophet of all people. He superseded all previous religions. If Jesus were alive when Muhammad was sent, he would have followed him. All people must be Muslims.

The Muslims were enraged by the defamation of their Prophet. But the people who defamed Muhammad were defaming their own prophet, because Muhammad is the prophet of the people in Scandinavia, in Europe, America, Asia and Africa. But since the holy texts that they read in Scandinavia are forged and call for hatred, they believe Muhammad is not their prophet.

We expect to see a picture of Jesus with nuclear bombs over his head, because the nuclear bomb was developed by the followers of Jesus.

They drew Muhammad surrounded by veiled women, because of the veil worn by Muslim women. We expect them to draw Jesus surrounded by naked women, because the followers... because Christian women are naked. In Scandinavia women are naked.

In any case, the holy texts of the West, of Europe and America, call for hatred, there is no doubt about it. This text is corrupt and inhumane.

The so-called Old Testament and New Testament are neither Old Testament nor New Testament - because both testaments were superseded, and they are forged. They were written by hand hundreds of years after Jesus.

In the Bible there are things that are inappropriate for both Jesus and Moses. If we want to mend the state of humanity, and live in a global village, because of the globalization, we must search for the true Bible, because the Bible that exists today is a forgery. Today's Bible does not mention Muhammad, whereas our Lord's Bible mentions Muhammad repeatedly.

We must search for the Gospel of Barnabas, of St. Barnabas, because this is the true gospel. This gospel explicitly mentions that Muhammad would come after Jesus.

Today, we are correcting human history from here, in Timbuktu.

We have fifty million Muslims in Europe. There are signs that Allah will grant Islam victory in Europe - without swords, without guns, without conquests. The fifty million Muslims of Europe will turn it into a Muslim continent within a few decades.

Allah mobilizes the Muslim nation of Turkey, and adds it to the European Union. That's another 50 million Muslims. There will be 100 million Muslims in Europe. Albania, which is a Muslim country, has already entered the EU. Bosnia, which is a Muslim country, has already entered the EU. 50 percent of its citizens are Muslims.

Europe is in a predicament, and so is America. They should agree to become Islamic in the course of time, or else declare war on the Muslims.

All people have the right to make a pilgrimage to Mecca, and to circle the Ka'ba.

The verse says that polytheists are impure, hence they are forbidden from coming near the Haram.

If the American president comes to make a pilgrimage, they will say to him: You are impure, a polytheist. But he will reply: I am not a polytheist. Nor am I impure. How can you make such serious allegations against me? If I am impure, how come you shake my hand and break bread with me?

He will pull out the one dollar bill that we use, and he will say: Go ahead, read what's written on it.

Translator: "In God we trust."

Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi: It says what the translator said: "In God we trust." Here, we have a dollar. Where is it? Read it... "In God we trust."
