My favourite quote re. radical elements within Muslim populations is “…most Muslims are liberal, peace-loving souls and Islamic radicals (undoubtedly misguided youths) are only a ‘marginal minority’”…
Which sounds great until you realise that even if just 1% (which is pretty marginal in my maths book) fall in the misguided youth category, we have about 15million radicals raring to go to “jihad” (of which at least 20% - or 3million - are in India’s neighbourhood).

India. Sigh. Enduring a brutal history of bloody Islamic conquest up to and through the last century . . .the most recent tragedies fully witnessed by many contemporary politicians. . .yet the same ignorant one-sided appeasment and 'land for peace' negotiations continue. Baffling.
According to the CIA World Factbook, the United States has a growing muslim population currently listed at one percent of 298,444,215 (July 2006 est.).
In full agreement with Jai, that the common resounder "marginal minority" of 'mis-understanderers' of islam is empty rhetoric.
However, I do not believe the number of jihad ready followers is limited to one percent in the US. Witness the organizations with memberships in most universities and in every state - MSA, ISA, CIE, CAIR, MAS etc. leads one to suspect the ratio significantly higher.
There is no negotiating with this entity without resound defeat.
No Islam = KNOW PEACE
Know Islam = NO PEACE
