Burqas Across Bavaria

Thanks to Vigilant Freedom:

This week Germans awoke to find many of their most famous statutes cloaked in Burkas and headscarfs, in a well coordinated move carried out by a group calling itself an, "Anonymous group for democratic and free thinking." The group carried out the simultaneous cover up of 14 statues in 7 cities across the country, followed by a press release on protecting freedom of speech and secular democratic societies, which read in part:

"In a religious system that promotes totalitarian ideas and demands submission of individuals, such an achievement can easily get under pressure. Therefore, there should be a public discussion on whether the European vocabulary and the vocabulary of certain religious systems share a common basis. For instance, the "house of peace" and the "house of war" have a different meaning in Islam and in our understanding. According to the Islamic view, the "house of peace" can only exist where Islam reigns."

It really is a great idea. There's a statue of the Little Mermaid (in Denmark) which was enshrouded in a burqa a few years back, so this isn't the first time this has been done. But the magnitude of this display is on a whole 'nuther level.

It may have been done before but the impact and comment is excellent....ironically here in the UK the Police would arrest me under anti terror laws...Ironic huh!

That is bitter irony. Much of Western Civilization is upside-down.
