Is He The One?

Barack Obama, Superstar, do you think you're who they say you are?

Oprah Winfrey famously proclaimed that he is the One. And, indeed, Barack Obama's following does sometimes behave as if they have found their messiah:

Obama supporter Kathleen Geier writes that she's "getting increasingly weirded out by some of Obama's supporters. On listservs I'm on, some people who should know better – hard-bitten, not-so-young cynics, even – are gushing about Barack…

Describing various encounters with Obama supporters, she writes, "Excuse me, but this sounds more like a cult than a political campaign. The language used here is the language of evangelical Christianity – the Obama volunteers speak of 'coming to Obama' in the same way born-again Christians talk about 'coming to Jesus.'...So I say, we should all get a grip, stop all this unseemly mooning over Barack, see him and the political landscape he is a part of in a cooler, clearer, and more realistic light, and get to work."

Joe Klein, writing at Time, notes "something just a wee bit creepy about the mass messianism" he sees in Obama's Super Tuesday speech.

"We are the ones we've been waiting for," Obama said. "This time can be different because this campaign for the presidency of the United States of America is different. It's different not because of me. It's different because of you."

Says Klein: "That is not just maddeningly vague but also disingenuous: the campaign is entirely about Obama and his ability to inspire. Rather than focusing on any specific issue or cause — other than an amorphous desire for change — the message is becoming dangerously self-referential. The Obama campaign all too often is about how wonderful the Obama campaign is. “
The always interesting James Wolcott writes that "(p)erhaps it's my atheism at work but I found myself increasingly wary of and resistant to the salvational fervor of the Obama campaign, the idealistic zeal divorced from any particular policy or cause and chariot-driven by pure euphoria. I can picture President Hillary in the White House dealing with a recalcitrant Republican faction; I can't picture President Obama in the same role because his summons to history and call to hope seems to transcend legislative maneuvers and horse-trading; his charisma is on a more ethereal plane, and I don't look to politics for transcendence and self-certification."

Then there's MSNBC's Chris Matthews who tells Felix Gillette in the New York Observer, “I’ve been following politics since I was about 5. I’ve never seen anything like this. This is bigger than Kennedy. [Obama] comes along, and he seems to have the answers. This is the New Testament."

When people stop believing in God, they don't believe in nothing -- they believe in anything.

Wasn't the anti-Christ supposed to be charismatic and charming? Doesn't he come from nowhere? Is Obama THE ONE?

Ray, I have often read descriptions of the Anti-Christ which go along the following lines:

"This coming powerful religious leader will look like a "lamb." In Revelation 14 we see that Christ is described as the "Lamb." So this coming religious leader will appear to be like Christ! But, John writes, he "spoke like a dragon." And in Revelation 12:9, John was inspired to write: "So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."
Satan the Devil is clearly identified as the "dragon" right here in the book of Revelation. This coming false prophet, therefore, will appear to billions of human beings to be a Christ-like figure. But his message will be that of Satan the Devil! Yet this charismatic leader will perform "great signs" and even make fire come down from heaven! He is also described in 2 Thessalonians 2 as the "man of sin" who "opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God" (vv. 3–4). This coming religious leader, your Bible says, will be worshiped by his followers! "

Hey, I stopped believing in God over 40 years ago, Pastorius, and I certainly don't believe in the Anything that is Barack Obama. It seems to me he fits the concept of anti-Christ nicely, but this old atheist will settle for RINGER.

He is sympathetic to Islam and is a black racist supremacist and he will sell us down the river to the Islamists with a smile as soon as he gets the chance. But the Obama freaks are oblivious to the danger he represents and will attack anyone who harshes their Obama mellow.

Obama is nothing like Jack Kennedy, who had more political charisma that anyone else I've ever seen. Like it or not, you knew what Jack stood for because Jack told you. Obama is a chimera. These followers of his think a man who joins a "Christian" church filled with hate for white people is going to "unite" us all in some fluffy multicultural utopia. These are sheeple running frantically from the danger they sense around the edges of their vision and hearing and deluding themselves that they have found, to use someone else's term, the "magic negro" who is going to make everything all right.

Forthalovvagawd, when you encounter these people throw a bucket of cold water on them. Give them the website address of Obama's church (it's http://www.tucc.org/home.htm , and tell them to go to the "About Us" page). This thing is assuming the form of a mania, all right. I live in Massachusetts and I see far more OBAMA stickers and buttons than for anybody else except Ron Paul, and there is NOT a good combination. Maybe at this point all we can do is find a core of sane people who will know something about what to do when Obama or Hillary or McCain have thoroughly effed things up and we are staring at a nuclearized Jihad.

RRA,
In my opinion, Barack Obama is an incredibly charismatic human being, and he possesses brilliant political and PR skills.

According to his record, he is not completely empty of values. However, his values don't square with the church he belongs to.

This is frightening stuff. In Australia, a fine, principled Prime Minister was defeated by a campaign that was little more than a glitzy PR exercise and young people climbed aboard because it was simply the latest craze, no more than that.
What we're looking at here is a couple of generations which are largely ignorant of history, indoctrinated by leftist teachers and capable of nothing more than clicking on the latest YouTube sensation by way of political awareness. It fills the void left by their lack of faith, their lack of analytical ability and their lack of principles.
Obama is riding a wave of ignorance, stupidity and selfishness all the way to the White House.

There's a lot of that in the current U.S. election campaign as well. Video: America needs change. The audacity of...endorsing . . . change...? WTF?

It would be difficult to overstate how ignorant a lot of these kids are. KG hit it right on the head.

With Obama actions must speak louder than any fine-soudning words. I firmly believe he is not what he seems and that he's a dangerous man who if elected will at the very least set us up if not sell us out.

It's a sickening GHOST DANCE

Wait until the evil opposition begins to puncture the story line with valid claims of weakness, venality, and support of racist goals and groups

You are all trying too hard. Just relax. Let go of your minds. Let your hearts lead the way. You are special. Obama is special. He is the one. You know what you need to do....

OT but related . . .found this interesting tidbit at The Jawa Report:

Multiculturalism vs. Math: Why America's Yoots Are So Stupid

City Journal did an interesting exercise in which they examined (using data from US News and World Report's Top 50 education programs) the ratio of the number of times the words "multiculturalism," "diversity," and "inclusion" appeared in a curricula versus the number of times the word "math" appeared.

Guess which words appeared more often. And then guess why a sizable portion of yoots these days have little or no understanding of economics, number-crunching and arithmetic (hence, why most youths support Democrat candidates who advocate socialist policies).

Oprah is the "John the Baptist" to [anti-christ] Obama

Oprah is ushering in the New Age - with her newest promotion; a world wide class room on the world wide web featuring New age guru Eckhart Tolle, and her pick for the new world leader Barack Hussein Obama.

The self proclaimed "Anti-Christian" Talk show host, just up her profile as a messianic forrunner with her new status as "spiritual teacher". She will be co-teaching a web class online for her millions of viewer - to tune in and be instructed on the New Age paradigm.

Not only is she at this time promoting a political candidate who as of this date seems to have taken up a cult-like following in the United States, she also has a "spiritual" doctrine to go along with the new world regime, meant to gain some serious followers. Hand in hand it's a double take over of people's minds and over the state -complete control. This duo of Oprah and Obama - An unstoppable "spiritual" and Political leader- is the same team perhaps mentioned about in the book of revelation as the false prophet and the antichrist. This rising influence seemingly over night has taken over America. If it continues, it may solidify this hypothesis I present here.

At the same time that Oprah has chosen the New World leader, she is also anoucing her plan for a New Earth in her book club selection : A New Earth by Eckart Tolle. This is the doctrine of the new world order to be made a world religion.
