More On Khalid al-Mansour

YouTube link

More information on one of Obama's early backers, about whom Pastorius asked here on August 27, 2008, "Why Would A Rich, Connected Muslim Reach Out To Help Obama In 1987?"

Excerpts from this September 4, 2008 essay by Kenneth R. Timmerman
Although many Americans have never heard of Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour (his full name), he is well known within the black community as a lawyer, an orthodox Muslim, a black nationalist, an author, an international deal-maker, an educator, and an outspoken enemy of Israel.

A graduate of Howard University with a law degree from the University of California, al-Mansour sits on numerous corporate boards, including the Saudi African Bank and Chicago-based LaGray Chemical Co. LaGray, which was formed to do business in Africa, counts former Nigerian President General Abdusalam Abubakar on its advisory board.

He also sits on the board of the non-profit African Leadership Academy, along with top McCain for President adviser Carly Fiorina, and organized a tribute to the President of Ghana at the Clinton White House in 1995, along with pop star Michael Jackson.

But his writings and books are packed with anti-American rhetoric reminiscent of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s disgraced former pastor.

[...]

In the 1960s, when he founded the African American Association in the San Francisco Bay area, he was known as Donald Warden.

According to the Social Activism Project at the University of California at Berkley, Warden, a.k.a.Khalid al-Mansour, was the mentor of Black Panther Party founder Huey Newton and his cohort, Bobby Seale.

Newton later had a falling out with Warden, who was described in a 1994 book as “the most articulate spokesperson for black nationalism” at the time.

The falling out wasn’t purely political, according to author Hugh Pearson.

[...]

Al-Mansour’s more recent videotaped speeches focus on Muslim themes, and abound with anti-Semitic theories and anti-Israel vitriol.

“Today, the Palestinians are being brutalized like savages,” he told an audience in South Africa. “If you protest you will go to jail, and you may be killed. And they say they are the only democratic country in the Middle East. ... They are lying on God.”
He accused the Jews of “stealing the land the same way the Christians stole the land from the Indians in America.”

The Saudi Connection

But al-Mansour’s sponsorship of Obama as a prospective Harvard law student is important for another reason beyond his Islamic and anti-American rhetoric and early Black Panther ties.

At the time Percy Sutton, a former lawyer for Malcolm X and a former business partner of al-Mansour, says he was raising money for Obama’s graduate school education, al-Mansour was representing top members of the Saudi Royal family seeking to do business and exert influence in the United States.

In 1989, for example — just one year after Obama entered Harvard Law School — The Los Angeles Times revealed that al-Mansour had been advising Saudi billionaires Abdul Aziz and Khalid al-Ibrahimin their secret effort to acquire a major stake in prime oceanfront property in Marina del Rey, Calif., through “an elaborate network of corporate shells in California, the Caribbean and Europe.”

At the same time, he was also advising Prince Alwaleed bin Talal in his U.S. investments, and sits on the board of his premier investment vehicle, Kingdom Holdings.

[...]

Although al-Mansour glosses over his ties to the Saudi mega-billionaire in some of his public talks, he has represented the Saudi’s interests in the United States, in Britain, and in Africa for more than a quarter century, according to public records.

He told Newsmax that he has personally introduced Prince Alwaleed to “51 of the 53 leaders of Africa,” traveling from country to country on the Saudi prince’s private jet.

He knows virtually every black leader in America, from the business community, to community activists, to the worlds of politics and entertainment.

When Michael Jackson was on the ropes in the mid-1990s following a series of lawsuits by the parents of children accusing him of sexual abuse, al-Mansour introduced him to Prince Alwaleed, whose Kingdom Entertainment signed a joint venture with Jackson in 1996.

“Jackson and Alwaleed became pals in 1994, when a mutual friend from Alwaleed’s college days in California arranged a lunch meeting aboard the prince’s yacht in Cannes,” Time magazine reported about the new partnership in 1997.

The mutual friend was al-Mansour....

[al-Mansour]". . . also sits on the board of the non-profit African Leadership Academy, along with top McCain for President adviser Carly Fiorina"

which continues

" . . .writings and books are packed with anti-American rhetoric reminiscent of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s disgraced former pastor."

ahem . . .that needs to be addressed immediately as well. Paging Baracuda.

Anonymous,
along with top McCain for President adviser Carly Fiorina

I included that portion in this posting, although it didn't pertain to the thesis statement.

A Google search of fiorina + islam yields some interesting results, but I haven't read the many hits. One can also Google search "Carly Fiorina" (with the quotes).

The phrase "anti-American rhetoric" in this posting's cited article refers to al-Mansour, not to Fiorina.

Thanks AOW . . .notice that HF is ahead of us with this question . . .

"He [Khalid al-Mansour] also sits on the board of the non-profit African Leadership Academy, along with top McCain for President adviser Carly Fiorina."

Was she on that board when she wrote that awful piece , soon after the 9/11/20001 attacks, about how wonderful Islam is? I'd like to know.

And since she is now billed as a "McCain adviser" I think others would like to know as well about Carly Fiorina, because it is clear that now that her business career is over (it ended with her being forced out, for she made a mess at Hewlett-Packard), she has political ambitions that need to be looked at, in the light of her background and her seeming indulgence toward Islam.

Contrast the above comment with this:

McCain was advised to pick a female VP. Two names were given: Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska and Carly Fiorina.

Clearly, we dodged an unpleasant bullet there. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal during her book tour, Fiorina said she is considering a political career or some other form of "public service". She was also open to becoming CEO of another public company.
"She also stated then that she would additionally be a point person for the McCain campaign as related to business and economic affairs"

"Fiorina has along with Bill Gates been actively promoting expansion of H-1B visa guest worker visas."

Let's hope this bottom feeder likes bling . . .
wearing shiny objects is discouraged as barracudas are quite attracted to things that glint and shine.

al-Mansour’s sponsorship of Obama as a prospective Harvard law student may have to do with this:

Obama's Years at Columbia Are a Mystery:He Graduated Without Honors NYSUN

Wasn't Obama "Barry Obama" at CU, but "Barack Obama" at Harvard?

When Barry Became Barack via Newsweek:

The way his half sister, Maya, remembers it, Obama returned home at Christmas in 1980, and there he told his mother and grandparents: no more Barry. Obama recalls it slightly differently, but in the same basic time frame. He believes he told his mom he wanted to be called Barack when she visited him in New York the following summer.

NY indicates he changed his name while at Columbia.

Thanks, Anonymous.

I couldn't recall the exact timeline on that name change.

That Barry became Barack during his stay at Columbia conveniently coincides with his aspirations to attend Harvard here:

via Newsmax:

Sutton, the founder of Inner City Broadcasting, said al-Mansour contacted him to ask a favor: Would Sutton write a letter in support of Obama’s application to Harvard Law School?

al-Mansour secured the financial need while Sutton secured the recomendation letters - and voila ~ Barry became Barack.

And now I think that we have a pretty good idea as to why.

BTW, I sprang the info in this posting on a conservative friend of mine earlier today. He said, "Why isn't this in the media?"

I told him, "Get onto the web, and learn the stories the msm are keeping from you."

Incidentally - according to the Obama campaign, In 1981 — the year Obama transferred from Occidental College to Columbia University — Obama visited his mother and sister Maya in Indonesia. After that visit, Obama traveled to Pakistan with a friend from college whose family was from there.

the name change, Sutton/al-Mansour connection to funding & recommendation letters for Harvard, the funding & sudden interest re: trip to Pakistan . . . timing is verrrrrry interrrresting.

Change that incidentally link to the real source - Jake Tapper of ABC News

From the comments at his blog:

Pakistan was in turmoil in 1981 and ruled of martial law. Millions of Afghan refugees were living in Pakistan, while the Afghan Mujahedeen operated from bases inside Pakistan in their war with the Soviets. One of the leaders that based his operation in Quetta, Pakistan was Usama Bin Laden (The Sheik).

Pakistan was on the banned travel list for US Citizens at the time and all non-Muslim visitors were not welcome unless sponsored by their embassy for official business.

Did al-Mansour find a sponsor for this trip to Pakistan?

Obama, DNC Served Yesterday Afternoon

Illinois Sen. Barack Obama was served with papers yesterday connected with the lawsuit filed more than two weeks ago in federal court in Philadelphia questioning his constitutional eligibility for the American presidency. Service was made at his Washington, D.C. Senate office at approximately 1:00 p.m.

It was not dismissed after all . . .Heh . . .pass the popcorn.

Hillary's defenders are taking this lawsuit seriously. Here's some of the talking points mentioned on their blogs:

1. Clinton supporters want to know how meeting with friend's family in Pakistan gives more experience than meeting with leaders of those countries. Or, did his Pakistani friend's family have political influence or make diplomatic decisions on behalf of the country? It was after all Obama who said, it was important to not only know the leaders, but also to know the people of these countries. In '81 Obama traveled to Pakistan on an Indonesian passport

2.At age 20, he was still using his Indonesian passport. Neither prior to that time nor in the subsequent 1 year he had to swear the Oath of Allegiance in front of a qualified official is there any record he did so. At age 22, the window closed. So his only active remaining citizenship is Indonesian. Such implies he held dual citizenship at best and perhaps only Indonesian citizenship in which case he will never be eligible to be president.

3. We need to examine Obama's Illinois bar application - unfortunately, it's missing -- supposedly.

4. Why don't you research why is it Barack Sr. is listed on that bogus live birth certificate as AFRICAN when the legal term in 1961 was NEGRO just like Stanley Ann Dunham was listed caucasian according to race.
Why don't you ask what a political correct term from 1980 is doing on a legal document from 1961.
Why don't you invest the time in researching Stanley Ann Dunham's passport and ASK YOURSELF just why was it Clinton people were breaching Obama passport files begging the press to investigate what is found there, as the story was false in McCain and Clinton did not have their files breached too. Clinton was the year before and no one said anything and a rival Obama corporation breached McCain's files to make it look like all were breached to hide what is in Obama's.

5. As it stands, a hearing for a restraining order to prevent the Obama candidacy from moving forward, is scheduled for October 21, 2008. The Democrat National Committee and the U.S. Federal Election Commission are also defendants in this case.

This is not your average election. Buckle up - it's going to get bumpy.

If you don't want a president who's friendly with Saudi Arabia, you better hurry and impeach Bush and Cheney, BFF of the Saudis, to the point of getting the Bin Ladin family our own military jets to get them out of dodge after our towers were destroyed. You've got nothing to say about any candidate being BFF with the Saudis while you let that truly-chimpish "president" and his "vice" hand our country to the Saudis - 7 years and counting.
