Pakistan Raises State Of Alert Around Nuclear Facilities

From the BBC:

Pakistan has raised the state of alert around its nuclear facilities amid concerns they could be targeted by Islamist militants.

But a senior Pakistan military official said there had been no specific threat to the sites, and insisted that safeguards in place were fool proof.

The official was speaking in a rare press briefing on the issue.

It followed Western media reports warning that Pakistan's nuclear weapons could fall into the wrong hands.

The Pakistani authorities have been angered by Western media reports speculating that the country?s nuclear arsenal could fall into the hands of al-Qaeda militants.

The senior military official briefing foreign journalists said that the weapons were protected by an elaborate command and control system, and multiple levels of security.

'No collusion'

He acknowledged that Islamic militants had begun to attack army personnel in recent months, and that nuclear sites may also become a target.

He said the state of alert around nuclear facilities had increased, but there had been no specific threats against them.

The official said there was no way the Taleban or al-Qaeda could take over Pakistan?s estimated 50 nuclear warheads.

And he dismissed the possibility of collusion from within the system, saying all personnel dealing with sensitive material had been carefully monitored.

Despite fears raised by US media and politicians, the official said the US administration had not shown any recent concern about the safety of Pakistan?s nuclear weapons.

He also said any foreign intervention over the issue would be disastrous for the intruder.

Hitler And Muhammed

Andrew Bostom

Cliff May deserves credit for his National Review Online column of Thursday (1/24/08) which dares to associate—however indirectly, and in the end, I am afraid, inadequately—those he terms, using layers of prophylactic rhetorical separation from orthodox Islam, either “militant jihadists,” or “Islamists,” and their movement as “militant Islamism,”—with Hitler, and his “movement,” i.e., Nazism.

May’s inchoate effort, should be applauded for its attempted illustration of any possible ideological nexus between Hitler’s Nazism, and Islam. But ultimately, the associations he makes—the “ability to nurse grievances and stoke ambitions,” Germans/Aryans as a master race, and the concordant supremacism of “militant Islamism,” and generic “fanaticism”—ignore much more intimate, if uncomfortable to acknowledge, doctrinal and historical connections between ancient Islam, and modern Nazism, which I have elaborated, below.

Islam, Nazism, and Totalitarianism

During an interview conducted in the late 1930s (published in 1939), Karl Jung, the Swiss psychiatrist and founder of analytical psychiatry, was asked “…had he any views on what was likely to be the next step in religious development?” Jung replied, in reference to the Nazi fervor that had gripped Germany,

We do not know whether Hitler is going to found a new Islam. He is already on the way; he is like Muhammad. The emotion in Germany is Islamic; warlike and Islamic. They are all drunk with wild god. That can be the historic future.

Albert Speer, who was Hitler’s Minister of Armaments and War Production, wrote a contrite memoir of his World War II experiences while serving a 20-year prison sentence imposed by the Nuremberg tribunal. Speer’s narrative includes this discussion which captures Hitler’s racist views of Arabs on the one hand, and his effusive praise for Islam on the other:

Hitler had been much impressed by a scrap of history he had learned from a delegation of distinguished Arabs. When the Mohammedans attempted to penetrate beyond France into Central Europe during the eighth century, his visitors had told him, they had been driven back at the Battle of Tours. Had the Arabs won this battle, the world would be Mohammedan today. For theirs was a religion that believed in spreading the faith by the sword and subjugating all nations to that faith. Such a creed was perfectly suited to the Germanic temperament. [emphasis added] Hitler said that the conquering Arabs, because of their racial inferiority, would in the long run have been unable to contend with the harsher climate and conditions of the country. They could not have kept down the more vigorous natives, so that ultimately not Arabs but Islamized Germans could have stood at the head of this Mohammedan Empire. [emphasis added] Hitler usually concluded this historical speculation by remarking,

“You see, it’s been our misfortune to have the wrong religion. Why didn’t we have the religion of the Japanese, who regard sacrifice for the Fatherland as the highest good? The Mohammedan religion too would have been much more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness?”

A similar ambivalence characterized Nazi Germany’s support for Arab Muslim causes in the World War II era. Hitler for example, in December 1937, even proposed omitting his “racial ladder” theory—which denigrated the Arabs—from a forthcoming Arabic translation of Mein Kampf. And a Berlin Foreign Ministry spokesman, during a November, 1942 press conference reported in the New York Times, took “great pains” to assure Arabs that Nazi antisemitic policies were directed at Jews, exclusively. The spokesman elaborated:

The difference between Germany’s attitude toward Jews and Arabs has been clearly shown in the exchange of letters between the former Prime Minister of Iraq, Rashid Ali, and the German Institute for Racial Problems. We have never said the Arabs were inferior as a race. On the contrary, we have always pointed out the glorious historic past of the Arab people.

Although now, inexplicably, almost ignored in their entirety, writings produced for 100 years between the mid-19th through mid-20th centuries, by important scholars and intellectuals, in addition to Carl Jung—for example, the historians Jacob Burckhardt and Waldemar Gurian, philosopher Bertrand Russell, Protestant theologian Karl Barth, sociologist Jules Monnerot, and most notably, the renowned 20th century scholar of Islamic Law, G.H. Bousquet—referred to Islam as a despotic, or in 20th century parlance, totalitarian ideology.

Being imbued with fanaticism was the ultimate source of Muhammad’s great strength, and lead to his triumph as a despot, according to the 19th century Swiss historian Burckhardt:
Muhammad is personally very fanatical; that is his basic strength. His fanaticism is that of a radical simplifier and to that extent is quite genuine. It is of the toughest variety, namely doctrinaire passion, and his victory is one of the greatest victories of fanaticism and triviality. All idolatry, everything mythical, everything free in religion, all the multifarious ramifications of the hitherto existing faith, transport him into a real rage, and he hits upon a moment when large strata of his nation were highly receptive to an extreme simplification of the religious.

The Arabs, Burckhardt emphasizes, Muhammad’s henchmen, were not barbarians and had their own ingenuities, and spiritual traditions. Muhammad’s successful preaching among them capitalized upon an apparent longing for supra-tribal unification, “an extreme simplification.” Muhammad’s genius, “lies in divining this.” Utilizing portions of the most varied existing traditions, and taking advantage of the fact that “the peoples who were now attacked may also have been somewhat tired of their existing theology and mythology,” Muhammad

…with the aid of at least ten people, looks over the faiths of the Jews, Christians, and Parsis [Zoroastrians], and steals from them any scraps that he can use, shaping these elements according to his imagination. Thus everyone found in Muhammad’s sermons some echo of his accustomed faith. The very extraordinary thing is that with all this Muhammad achieved not merely lifetime success, the homage of Arabia, but founded a world religion that is viable to this day and has a tremendously high opinion of itself.

Burckhardt concludes that despite this achievement, Muhammad was not a great man, although he accepts the understandable inclination,

…to deduce great causes from great effects, thus, from Muhammad’s achievement, greatness of the originator. At the very least, one wants to concede in Muhammad’s case that he was no fraud, was serious about things, etc. However, it is possible to be in error sometime with this deduction regarding greatness and to mistake mere might for greatness. In this instance it is rather the low qualities of human nature that have received a powerful presentation. Islam is a triumph of triviality, and the great majority of mankind is trivial…But triviality likes to be tyrannical and is fond of imposing its yoke upon nobler spirits. Islam wanted to deprive distinguished old nations of their myths, the Persians of their Book of Kings, and for 1200 years it has actually prohibited sculpture and painting to tremendously large populations.

University of Notre Dame historian Waldemar Gurian, a refugee, who witnessed first hand the Communist and Fascist totalitarian movements in Europe, concluded (circa 1945) that Hitler, in a manner analogous to the 7th century precedent of Muhammad, had been the simplifier of German nationalism.

A fanatical simplifier who appeared as the unifier of various German traditions in the service of simple national aims and who was seen by many differing German groups—even by some people outside Germany—as the fulfiller of their wishes and sharer of their beliefs, with some distortions and exaggerations—such, as long as he had success, was Adolf Hitler.

Based upon the same clear understandings, and devoid of our era’s dulling, politically correct constraints, Karl Barth, like Carl Jung (cited earlier), offered this warning, also published in 1939:

[Karl Barth] Participation in this life, according to it the only worthy and blessed life, is what National Socialism, as a political experiment, promises to those who will of their own accord share in this experiment. And now it becomes understandable why, at the point where it meets with resistance, it can only crush and kill—with the might and right which belongs to Divinity! Islam of old as we know proceeded in this way. It is impossible to understand National Socialism unless we see it in fact as a new Islam [emphasis in original], its myth as a new Allah, and Hitler as this new Allah’s Prophet.

And after interviewing Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna himself, who “preached the doctrine of the Koran in one hand and the sword in the other,” Carlson observed:

It became clear to me why the average Egyptian worshipped the use of force. Terror was synonymous with power! This was one reason why most Egyptians, regardless of class or calling had admired Nazi Germany. It helped explain the sensational growth of the Ikhwan el Muslimin [Muslim Brotherhood]

In a brilliant, dispassionate contemporary analysis, Ibn Warraq describes 14 characteristics of “Ur Fascism” as enumerated by Umberto Eco, analyzing their potential relationship to the major determinants of Islamic governance and aspirations, through the present. He adduces salient examples which reflect the key attributes discussed by Eco: the unique institution of jihad war; the establishment of a Caliphate under “Allah’s vicegerent on earth,” the Caliph—ruled by Islamic Law, i.e., Shari’a, a rigid system of subservience and sacralized discrimination against non-Muslims and Muslim women, devoid of basic freedoms of conscience, and expression. Warraq’s assessment confirms what G.H. Bousquet concluded (in 1950) from his career studying the historical development and implementation of Islamic Law:

Islam first came before the world as a doubly totalitarian system. It claimed to impose itself on the whole world and it claimed also, by the divinely appointed Muhammadan law, by the principles of fiqh [jurisprudence], to regulate down to the smallest details the whole life of the Islamic community and of every individual believer… the study of Muhammadan Law (dry and forbidding though it may appear)… is of great importance to the world of today.

Storm Track Infiltration: US Wildfires and Terrorism

A little while back, the bloggospher was discussing the idea that the many wildfires set off last summer could be the work of eco-terrorists of the Jihadist kind. Such a terrorist attack was openly discussed on Jihadist websites.

U.S. officials monitoring terrorist web sites have discovered a call for using forest fires as weapons against “crusader” nations, in what may explain some recent wildfires in places like southern California and Greece.

A terrorist website was discovered recently that carried a posting that called for “Forest Jihad.” The posting was listed on the Internet on Nov. 26 and reported in U.S. intelligence channels last week.

The statement, in Arabic, said that “summer has begun so do not forget the Forest Jihad.”

Among the discussion was some evidence that cellular phones may have been used to ignite the wildfires. Very plausible and a very smart way to set a fire by exploding an incendiary device while being miles away from the event.

Now an undercover Op has found busting a California theft ring revealed remote detonated bombs.

First They Came For Piglet

Maybe, if I play dead, the Muslims will leave me alone.
From the great Mark Steyn:

My favorite headline of the year so far comes from the Daily Mail in Britain:

"Government Renames Islamic Terrorism As anti-Islamic Activity' To Woo Muslims."

Her Majesty's government is not alone in feeling it's not always helpful to link Islam and the, ah, various unpleasantnesses with suicide bombers and whatnot. Even in his cowboy Crusader heyday, President Bush liked to cool down the crowd with a lot of religion-of-peace stuff. But the British have now decided that kind of mealy-mouthed "respect" is no longer sufficient.

So, henceforth, any terrorism perpetrated by persons of an Islamic persuasion will be designated "anti-Islamic activity." Britain's Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, unveiled the new brand name in a speech a few days ago. "There is nothing Islamic about the wish to terrorize, nothing Islamic about plotting murder, pain and grief," she told her audience. "Indeed, if anything, these actions are anti-Islamic."

Well, yes, one sort of sees what she means. Killing thousands of people in Manhattan skyscrapers in the name of Islam does, among a certain narrow-minded type of person, give Islam a bad name, and thus could be said to be "anti-Islamic" – in the same way that the Luftwaffe raining down death and destruction on Londoners during the Blitz was an "anti-German activity."

But I don't recall even Neville Chamberlain explaining, as if to a 5-year-old, that there is nothing German about the wish to terrorize and invade, and that this is entirely at odds with the core German values of sitting around eating huge sausages in beer gardens while wearing lederhosen.

Still, it should add a certain surreal quality to BBC news bulletins: "The prime minister today condemned the latest anti-Islamic activity as he picked through the rubble of Downing Street looking for his 2008 Wahhabi Community Outreach Award. In a related incident, the anti-Islamic activists who blew up Buckingham Palace have unfortunately caused the postponement of the Queen's annual Ramadan banquet."

A few days ago, a pretrial hearing in an Atlanta courtroom made public for the first time a video made by two Georgia Tech students. Syed Haris Ahmed and Ehsanul Islam Sadequee went to Washington and took footage of key buildings, and that "casing video" then wound up in the hands of Younis Tsouli, an al-Qaida recruiter in London. As the film shot by the Georgia students was played in court, Ehsanul Islam Sadequee's voice could be heard on the soundtrack: "This is where our brothers attacked the Pentagon."

"Allahu akbar," responds young Ahmed. God is great.

How "anti-Islamic" an activity is that? Certainly, not all Muslims want to fly planes into the Pentagon. But those that do it in the name of their faith. And anyone of a mind to engage in an "anti-Islamic activity" will find quite a lot of support from leading Islamic scholars. Take, for example, the "moderate" imam Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who once observed that "we will conquer Europe, we will conquer America. Not through the sword, but through da'wa" – i.e., the non-incendiary form of Islamic outreach.

What could be more moderate than that? No wonder Mr. al-Qaradawi is an associate of the Islamic Society of Boston, currently building the largest mosque in the northeast, and is also a pal of the present mayor of London. The impeccably moderate mullah was invited to address a British conference sponsored by the police and the Department of Work and Pensions on "Our Children, Our Future." And, when it comes to the children, Imam al-Qaradawi certainly has their future all mapped out. "Israelis might have nuclear bombs," he said, "but we have the children bomb, and these human bombs must continue until liberation."

As Maurice Chevalier used to say, thank heaven for little girls, they blow up in the most delightful way.

The British home secretary would respond that not all moderate imams are as gung-ho to detonate moppets. Which is true. But, by insisting on re-labeling terrorism committed by Muslims in the name of Islam as "anti-Islamic activity," Her Majesty's government is engaging not merely in Orwellian Newspeak but in self-defeating Orwellian Newspeak. The broader message it sends is that ours is a weak culture so unconfident and insecure that if you bomb us and kill us our first urge is to find a way to flatter and apologize to you.

Here's another news item out of Britain this week: A new version of "The Three Little Pigs" was turned down for some "excellence in education" award on the grounds that "the use of pigs raises cultural issues" and, as a result, the judges "had concerns for the Asian community" – i.e., Muslims. Non-Muslim Asians – Hindus and Buddhists – have no "concerns" about anthropomorphized pigs.

This is now a recurring theme in British life. A while back, it was a local government council telling workers not to have knickknacks on their desks representing Winnie-the-Pooh's porcine sidekick, Piglet.

As Martin Niemoller famously said,
first they came for Piglet, and I did not speak out because I was not a Disney character and, if I was, I'm more of an Eeyore. So then they came for the Three Little Pigs, and Babe, and by the time I realized my country had turned into a 24/7 Looney Tunes it was too late, because there was no Porky Pig to stammer "Th-th-th-that's all, folks!" and bring the nightmare to an end.

Just for the record, it's true that Muslims, like Jews, are not partial to bacon and sausages. But the Quran has nothing to say about cartoon pigs. Likewise, it is silent on the matter of whether one can name a teddy bear after Muhammad.

What all these stories have in common is the excessive deference to Islam. If "The Three Little Pigs" are verbotenwhen Muslims do not yet comprise 10 percent of the British population, what else will be on the blacklist by the time they're, say, 20 percent?

Elizabeth May, leader of Canada's Green Party (the fourth-largest political party), recently spoke out against her country's continued military contribution to the international force in Afghanistan. "More ISAF forces from a Christian/Crusader heritage," she said, "will continue to fuel an insurgency that has been framed as a jihad."

As it happens, Canada did not send troops to the Crusades, mainly because the fun was over several centuries before Canada came in existence. Six years ago, it was mostly the enemy who took that line, Osama bin Laden raging at the Great Satan for the fall of Andalusia in 1492, which, with the best will in the world, it's hard to blame on Halliburton. But since then, the pathologies of Islamism have proved surprisingly contagious among Western elites.

You remember the Three Little Pigs? One builds a house of straw, and another of sticks, and both get blown down by the Big Bad Wolf. Western civilization is a mighty house of bricks, but who needs a Big Bad Wolf when the pig's so eager to demolish it himself?

The Muslim siege of Liverpool hospital, Sydney.

Warning: If you follow this link, Google may put up an "Offensive site: Do you wish to continue? hurtle....go ahead. Who cares what Google finds offensive. They are known as "The Great Firewall of China" because they rat out freedom-loving Chinese bloggers to the Thought Police.

From the Anglo-Australian
or, Why we need bloggers, because the press isn't about to cover this.

Our law enforcement officials have NO IDEA how to battle this. We are not talking about crime, but a foreign invasion and war being waged on us by immigrant Muslim cab drivers, engineers, doctors and teachers.

"Featured here are some illustrations as to how Australia is being irrevocably changed, this transformation isn't taking place because of immigration per se, it's occurring because an Islamic Shari'a Template is being indelibly drawn slowly though assiduously across the Australian landscape, Australian law and custom it would seem can't stand up to Islam, it's erroneous to say otherwise, as a boldly encroaching de facto Islamic Shari'a Law surfaces,. Suffice to say multi culturalism is the poisoned chalice plied by an empowered Islam, ensuring them success upon success that leaves an apprehensive populace in complete bewilderment.

The Cronulla protest, rally that turned nasty was a huge wake up call to Australians, the drunken yobo's who hijacked the rally gave the worlds media the chance to portray Australians as racist, neglecting in their news items the legitimate claims of the protest organisers who were demanding action from the authorities to protect their young against premeditated attacks by roaming packs of Muslim men, sexual harassment on young women, a ruse at times to set up their male companions (the real targets) for vengeful assault, it is public knowledge that these forays had been going on for a number of years and culminated with the attempted protest rally. The revenge attacks by the Muslims in contrast, were conducted in military fashion by armed Muslim men. It was a miracle that no lives were lost as they blitzed the Eastern seaboard suburbs through to Cronulla in convoy, two men were feloniously injured and the property damage was immense, houses and cars damaged, innocent citizens were attacked and fled for their lives when they attempted to venture out to see what the commotion was about, it was not unlike and approaching the scale of the Paris intifada uprisings.

Now however another Islamic induced maelstrom, Jihad albeit staged as a demographic sortie, this Islamic action is unprecedented within Australia, we might call it the "Siege of Liverpool Hospital"it's indicative of where all Muslim societies have an obligation to live by divine law Shari'a, to push for that outcome, with an added bonus that it predisposes the rights of all others, displacing the existing order of the infidel, to heel in conformity as to Allah's will."

This is simply beyond belief. The police have surrendered their responsibilities and are now in CYA mode. How else can you describe this war on civilization?

Tim Priest, Aussie cop, explains it all in this report.

I wonder how long it will take before this begins to happen here on a regular basis. And when it does, will the press willingly ignore it, as seems to be the case in Europe and Australia?

I thought Israel was the canary in the coal mine, but maybe that canary is so far gone, such a tiny, little country, after all. The world thinks itself better off without this bedrock of civilization.
Welcome to the consequences of your Jew Hatred, world.

Ooh, look, someone in Brussels plugged the alarm clock back in

EU establishing detention camps in Africa to thwart wave of illegal immigration

GERTZ:The European Union has been quietly building detention camps for illegal immigrants in North Africa.

The detention camps were meant to stop the flood of illegal migrants from North Africa to Western Europe. So far, detention centers have been established in Libya, Morocco and Tunisia.

Italy and Spain have been the biggest sponsors of the North African detention centers. Italy plans to build at least one detention camp and intends to fund another two such facilities.

The detention centers were ordered after EU states concluded that they were unable to block the flow of Africans through the Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean to southern Europe. Until recently, some North African countries, particularly Libya, refused to cooperate with EU countries.

I have asked this before, WHY DOES ITALY HAVE A NAVY?

The USS America, and Italian Carrier Garibaldi (click for larger image)

Today, Libya has taken a 180 degree turn and was destroying immigrant shantytowns and deporting illegal en masse.

The use of detention centers has aroused anger in North Africa. In Algeria, dozens of families have filed suit against the Spanish and Moroccan embassies. The families said Spain has detained their children and kept them incommunicado.

The families said at least 40 Algerians who left their country for Spain from September 2006 through January 2007 were missing. They said they were urging Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to intervene.

Despite increased efforts, Africans continue to flood Europe. Officials said 17,000 illegal immigrants arrived in Spain in illegal boats during the first 11 months of 2007, most of whom landing on the Canary Islands. A total of 37,647 illegal migrants arrived in Spain in the same period of 2006.
Hmmm..... just imagine for a moment the world reaction if america established DETENTION KAMPS in Mexico for illegal aliens.

Monte Carlo Hotel On Fire In Las Vegas

UPDATE: The fire is contained now.
Hopefully, no one is hurt.

This is not really news which I would typically post on Infidel Bloggers Alliance, but it seems there might be something strange going on here.

Drudge has a post up (which is not accessible for some reason) claiming that the Bellgaio and the New York New York are both being evacuated.

I don't think they are that close to each other. Look at the photo.

Free Republic also notes this:

Why evacuate Bellagio? It’s a mile away - north of the huge CityCenter construction site.
LAS VEGAS -- A spectacular fire is raging atop the landmark Monte Carlo Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas strip, consuming large portions of the complex's top floors and sending plumes of thick black smoke into the air.
Fire crews on top of the 3,000-room hotel at
3770 Las Vegas Blvd. S.re trying to contain the blaze, which broke out shortly after 11 a.m.
Four workers are trapped on the roof. There is no word yet on what happened to them.
Four hotels have been evacuated -- Bellagio; New York, New York; MGM and City Center.
The blaze began at the top of the hotel and has spread down into four different parts, including the roof, top corner and a couple of floors down. There are 32 floors and about 3,000 people staying at the hotel.
Guests were spotted looking out of hotel windows, and guests were gambling up until a recent evacuation.
Guests who are attempting to check in are being turned away.
Debris is falling from the blaze, and it is catching other parts of the hotel on fire.
Las Vegas Boulevard is closed from Harmon to Tropicana avenues.
There is no word on the cause of the blaze or whether or not there have been any injuries.

"The World Knows This"

They're at it again.

TheUN Human Rights Council voted 30-1 to condemn Israel for "grave violations."
With all the problems in the world, the Sudan, the Congo, Kenya, etc., the UN chooses to go after Israel? For God's sake.

The world knows that Hamas, a murderous terrorist organization, was elected by the people of Gaza to murder and terrorize the Jews of Israel. The world knows that the UN's condemnations of Israel are a sham. The world knows that it is looking the other way other to give itself plausible deniability in the perpetration of another Holocaust.

From Atlas Shrugs:

An emergency session today of the UN’s 47-nation Human Rights Council condemned Israel for “grave violations of the human and humanitarian rights of Palestinian civilians,” for “undermining” the peace process, “incessant and repeated Israeli military attacks,” and causing “loss of life and injuries among Palestinian civilians, including women and children.”

The resolution, which made no mention of Hamas rocket attacks or their Israeli victims, was adopted by 30 votes to 1 (Canada), with 15 abstentions from European Union and other countries.

UN Watch's spokesperson Hillel Neuer spoke out against this travesty before the members of the Human Rights Council. Here's video:

And, here's a transription of part of his speech which is truly epochal:

Mr. President,
The nations assembled in this special session on the Gaza Strip, convened by the Arab and Islamic states, face an immediate question. On the proposal to condemn Israel, for the alleged crime of targeting civilians, should they vote for, or against?

Let us consider the proposed resolution. To understand its purpose we are guided best not by the science that studies the conduct of governments, but that which studies the mind.

In psychology, attributing one’s own malicious impulses to others is known as projection. Mr. President, the resolution before us constitutes a classic case of such projection.

It is, after all, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the other Palestinian terrorist organizations, who deliberately fire rockets—over 200 in the past week alone—at innocent civilians in Sderot and other Israeli towns. It is they who attack from populated areas, using their fellow Palestinians as human shields. It is they who reject the very notion of a distinction between combatants and civilians.

Israel, like the rest of the civilized world, does the opposite. In exercising its right and obligation under international law to defend its citizens from such attacks, Israel risks the lives of its own soldiers to avoid harming civilians. To Israel, causing a civilian casualty is an unintended tragedy; to Hamas, it is a cause for celebration. The world knows this.

The supporters of those who fire rockets at nursery schools summoned us here to accuse Israel of violating international humanitarian law, when in reality it is they who deny—in word and deed—the very premise of that code.

Let us also consider who initiated this session: Syria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan—each of whom just received the lowest possible rating, Not Free, in the annual world survey by Freedom House. Another is Cuba, which just held an election where the ballots had only one candidate. Are these to be the world’s arbiters of human rights?

The truth is that this session was fixed from the start. Those who sponsored it could introduce a resolution declaring the earth to be flat, and it would be assured of the same automatic majority.

The real question we face is something deeper. Can civilization survive—the values of democracy, freedom and basic humanity—when its basic ideas are, in such high forums, everywhere under assault?

That will not be decided here today, but every international declaration has its influence.

Those countries who genuinely care about the future—of the Middle East, of a credible UN, of civilization—will vote No.

Thank you, Mr. President.

Joyride: Teen Arrested In Hijack Plot Had Mock Cockpit In His Bedroom

Authorities are not sure whether he planned to crash the plane. And, of course, being that he is a teenager, we will not hear his name, even if it was Mohammed:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A teenage passenger from California was arrested in Nashville for plotting to hijack a plane from Los Angeles to Nashville, the FBI said Friday.

FBI spokesman George Bolds told The Associated Press the 16-year-old boy was removed from Southwest Airlines Flight 284 Tuesday night by authorities at Nashville International Airport and found with "suspicious" items.

Bolds said the teen had handcuffs, rope and duct tape in his bag and was believed to be traveling alone. The juvenile's name has not been released.

"His plan had a low probability of success," Bolds said.

Bolds said it has not been determined if the boy was trying to crash the plane. He said authorities searched the teen's home in California and found a mock cockpit.

The teen is believed to be suicidal, Bolds said. Bolds said he could not comment further on the teen's mental condition because he is a minor.

Interesting that authorities can say he was suicidal, but can not comment futher on his mental condition because of his minor status.

That is bullshit.

To say someone is suicidal is a profound comment on their mental condition.

I hate it when the "authorities" lie to us. Maybe I wouldn't hate it so much is they at least gave us the dignity of telling us believable lies.

Storm Track Appeasement: What You Get When Appeasing Islamists

“Appeasers believe that if you keep on throwing steaks to a tiger, the tiger will become a vegetarian. Heywood Broun

So, Spain? How’s that appeasement working out? No so good, huh?

It seems that appeasers never learn. Spain sided with the Islamists when they voted in a government that withdrew Spain’s support for the war in Iraq and other dreamed up crimes against the dominance of fundamentalist Islam.

Like the appeasers of the 1930s, they fed the crocodile hoping it would eat them last. But it seems the crocodile’s appetite has grown considerable and Spain is once again on the menu.

Muslim Invocations In State Legislatures

(All emphases by Always On Watch)

For centuries, state legislatures all over the United States have opened with prayer, sometimes offered by a man of the cloth. In the past few decades, legislatures have invited in Christian priests and ministers, Buddhist priests, and, especially since 9/11, imams.

According to Radio Iowa, an imam in that state opened the House of Representatives 2008 legislative session with a four-minute prayer, which has led to some controversy:
The 2008 Iowa Legislature has convened and the opening prayer in the Iowa House of Representatives was delivered by a Muslim. Imam Muhammad Khan of the Islamic Center of Des Moines spoke first in Arabic.

"I seek refuge in God against the accursed Satan in the name of God, most gracious, most merciful," Khan said in English at the beginning of his prayer. Khan made no specific mention of the war in Iraq or foreign affairs, but he called God the "master of the day of judgment" and asked for "victory over those who disbelieve."
"Refuge in God against the accursed Satan"? What could that mean? The Pilot Tribune provides a different wording for that phrase:
"Protection from the great Satan"
Also according to the Pilot Tribune,
Pastor Steve Smith of the Evangelical Free Church in Albert City is among those concerned about the Muslim prayer. Rev. Smith admits that he doesn't know about all the levels of Muslim but knows that the Jihadists believe those in the U.S. are the great Satan.

Rev. Smith also wants to point out the mention of "victory over those who disbelieve." He feels "this is a request in the Iowa Legislature for God to grant the Muslims victory over every non-muslim. Not a request for salvation." Smith takes it as a gesture not of prayer but more as a political statement...
Here is another excerpt from the imam's prayer:
"...We ask that you guide our legislators and give them the wisdom and knowledge to tackle the difficult problems that face us today in order to eliminate the senseless crimes on humanity...."
Let's be fair here. Maybe "the great Satan" is an incorrect translation. And maybe that last excerpt has nothing to do with the ummah. However, according to Hot Air, there seems to be no controversy over this particular phrase:
“victory over those who disbelieve”
Could that victory be a reference to jihad and Dar al-Islam?

Hot Air also reminds readers of the following:
[I]t’s not the first time an imam has taken the opportunity of a convocation to turn the rhetoric up to 11.
The same posting at Hot Air states the following:
Remember that radical-tinged imam who prayed a noxious prayer at the Democrats’ winter meeting a while back? Well, he has an ally who graced the Texas Senate with similar incantations this week. His name is Imam Yusuf Kavakci of the Dallas Central Mosque, and he was invited by a bi-partisan pair for the invocation. Follow the link; he’s a Khomeini apologist among other things.
Hot Air also has the audio of Imam Yusuf Kavokci.

If you are in America, maybe you should check to see what's been going on in your state legislature.

1) Anne Frank in a kaffiya..racist genocide chic?
What kinds of idiots are breathing AND walking on this planet?
2) Martin Fletcher confuses freedom and murder
Don't miss the excitement as MSNBC concludes mass murderers are just like Sam Adams and Ben Franklin
3) Imam Khan tells off the Iowa legislature in form of a convocation
Some jihadi morons really and truly love to rub other's faces in shit.

Mrs. Clinton, I don't think Sandy Berger is the guy for this, Mr. McCain, Jim Baker IS Condi Rice in your movie (altho if we can get you pissed off, you'll do,,,)....maybe Mitt and Rudy get it. Rudy has SEEN IT.
ASIA TIMES:The Gaza 'tea party'
DAMASCUS - The Arab world is infuriated by the continued blockade and seizure of Gaza by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Anti-Americanism is on the rise, even in capitals that are loyal to the United States, like Amman, Riyadh and Cairo.

"This is the doing of America," most Arabs believe, in harmony with its "war on terror" against Hamas, the military group that has been in control of the Gaza Strip since June 2007. The Americans have decided to wipe out Hamas, via Israel, while the Arab world is watching. That is the feeling in Arab capitals from Casablanca to Baghdad.

sderot.jpgWell. Let's see then. HAMAS, the freely elected ..sort of like Jefferson Davis, govt of "Gaza-stan", has decided with the support of the people to engage in a daily policy of bombarding it's neighbor, because they believe that god gave them that land, and not only that, but that as such a gift, no man can negotiate it away in order to create a peace that can't be as long as the sons of apes and pigs are there anyway.

These morons dream on in their delusion they are the progeny of Sam Adams...

For one thing, the Gaza events were a rude awakening for the Arab street, after sugar-coated promises for regional peace were made at the Annapolis "peace" conference in the United States last November. To understand the magnitude of what is currently happening in Gaza, and how it backfires on the reputation of the US throughout the Arab and Muslim world, Americans must look back in history, searching for a certain injustice - done to them - that mirrors what is currently happening to the 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza who are being collectively punished for being in the wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong people.

The Gaza 'tea party'
On December 16, 1773, angry Americans destroyed many crates of tea bricks on British ships in Boston Harbor. This event, known as the Boston Tea Party, helped spark the American Revolution. The British responded with brute force in 1774, issuing what came to be known as "Intolerable Acts", and closing down the port of Boston via blockade, until the East India Company was repaid for the damaged merchandise. Gaza is the Massachusetts of 2008. The "Intolerable Acts" of 1774 are a child's birthday party compared to the "Intolerable Acts" of 2008, committed by Israel. The Crossing of Rafah is the Port of Boston, 234 years later.

Americans objected back then; claiming the law was collective punishment for all of Boston rather than the individuals who had destroyed the tea. Boston was a major port for the people of Massachusetts, and its closure sparked public outcry and an emotional outburst that spread as far as South Carolina.
The PEOPLE themselves are responsible. This NOT collective punishment it is the conscious result of the war being conducted every day by the freely elected govt of HAMAS on the people INSIDE Israel. This not the result of some rebels acting on their own. It is HAMAS which is bombing Israel every single day, the freely elected representative government of the Palestinian people themselves, not the 'Sons of Liberty'.
Israel should step forward and call this what it is, and the USA should admit once and for all that HAMAS and the muslim brotherhood are every bit as much our enemies. It is the philosophical progeny of the salafist muslim brotherhood which have made war on us (along with the Shia freaks of Iran) since the Blind Sheik and 1993. Bin Laden, Abdullah Azzam, Said and Muhammad Qutb(who taught Bin Laden at King Abdul Aziz University's School of Islamic Studies)..all one thing.

When will dreamy, frightened, craven american AND Israeli politicians come to elucidate the real issue. The muslims of this ilk, and how many there are is quite obvious, blame america for jews BEING in the world, believe america controlled by jews, and believe jews BIBLICALLY evil.

That's it on Israel. There's nothing else.

If there can be a political solution, then it will be the result determined on the battlefield.

"Even If You Kill Us, The Cookie Will Still Be Eaten On The Air"

From Up Pompeii:

Well, well - looks like some brave USA Christian TV personalities are taking muslims and Mohammed "head on" by devouring the Prophet, in the form of a sugar biscuit, on the TV show "Flamethrower" --- WHOA!!!!!!! Of course you would NEVER see this happening in the UK and most of the EU countries as the programme would be immediately banned as being "insensitive to muslim feelings". For a list of Things That Offend Muslims go here.

It is interesting to note that the initial reaction to this "blasphemy" by a large United Muslims of America Interfaith Alliance in South San Francisco was to ask people to "ignore the actions". (What no riots in the streets? - maybe the muslims don't think they can get away with such demonstrations in the USA - but once this Mohammed biscuit receives worldwide publicity expect them elsewhere in the world....we'll see) Of course the UMAIA statement was immediately followed with the typical muslim complaint of Islamophobia and whining that muslims are being picked on..........................

Someone please hand me a kleenex AND a Mohammed sugar biscuit.

Christian warriors to eat 'Muhammad'
Political TV hosts fed up with PC Islam will devour cookie with face of prophet

This cookie with a depiction of the Muslim prophet Muhammad will be eaten on 'Flamethrower,' a new political program on Faith TV

A new, cutting-edge, political TV show will challenge Islam with biting humor tomorrow night, placing the face of the prophet Muhammad onto a cookie and then having it eaten on camera.

"We're going to take a stand and say Muhammad's face is delicious," said Molotov Mitchell, the 28-year-old incendiary creator and host of "Flamethrower," a program described as a low-budget, gritty cross between the "The Daily Show," "The Colbert Report," and "The View" if Ann Coulter were the producer. "This is religious and culinary history in the making."

The theme of this week's episode is "All Things Islam," as panelists take on the faith of Muslims in a no-holds-barred fashion.

"Islam is not even a religion," Mitchell told WND from a location somewhere in Eastern North Carolina. "It's an ideology of 'might makes right' disguised as a religion. We're going to show that Allah was with us when we baked this cookie and ate it. Deal with it!"

Mitchell and his fellow panelists – all of whom are Christians in their 20s and whom he calls the next generation of conservatism – are trying to make the point that America is still a free country, and there's no need to cower in fear from Islamo-fascism. He laments the frequency of Islamic suicide bombings, giving a new twist to a famous line from "It's a Wonderful Life," by stating, "Every time a bell rings, a Muhammad gets his wives."

In recent years, European cartoons featuring Muhammad have caused a tidal wave of violent protests and death threats, as Islamic tradition bans depictions of the prophet.

Molotov Mitchell, the Christian creator of 'Flamethrower,' irreverently sinks his teeth into a cookie featuring a depiction of the Muslim prophet Muhammad

"What were doing is exercising our freedom of speech and freedom of the press to the fullest in order to challenge a tyrannical, oppressive system that has doomed the cultures and countries of the Middle East for centuries," Mitchell told WND. "Now it's trying to invade our borders, and somebody has to speak up about it."

In its two previous episodes, "Flamethrower" has taken on subjects including "Is it ethical to kill abortionists?" and "Let's invade Mexico" – not to stay, but just to get rid of the drug cartels

There's also a regular segment titled, "WWMD? (What Would Muhammad Do?)"

In it, cast members dress in traditional Muslim clothing and deliver "totally atrocious" real news items, recounting, says Mitchell, "what some jerk named Muhammad did this week."

"I'm not going to be hurt and insulted. I'm going to ask people to ignore this," said Iftekhar Hai, president of United Muslims of America Interfaith Alliance in South San Francisco. "They would dare not do it to any Jewish person, saying 'the Jews killed Jesus.' The Jewish lobby would slaughter the Christians if they did that."

"I don't think this is part of the American character," Hai added, "but it has become part of the American tradition to only pick on Muslims."

Mitchell says politics is the driving force of his show, saying, "The [Christian] church really doesn't seem to get it when it comes to politics. The church likes to ask, 'What would Jesus do?' But it often suggests Jesus would hug somebody for every situation, and that's not what Jesus would do. I'd rather ask, 'What would George Washington do?'

A video teaser for the program offers a sample exchange between Mitchell and Fox News host Alan Colmes.

"Muhammad murdered people and he married a 9-year-old. That makes him a murdering pedophile," said Mitchell. "I don't think that we should burn the Quran. I'm a Christian environmentalist. We should put that thing to use. I mean, at least get some toilet paper out of it."

"Your kind of attitude is a really despicable attitude," responded Colmes.

Mitchell's 27-year-old wife says she's "totally fine" with the concept of "Flamethrower."

"At first, I was a little scared," she admitted. "But I'm a Christian, and we shouldn't fear to lose our lives. We're in America, and we have a free voice here, and we want it to stay that way."

The hour-long show airs Friday nights on Faith TV on the Sky Angel Network, channel 9708, at 7 p.m. Eastern, and the complete cookie segment is expected to be posted on the video-sharing site YouTube immediately after tomorrow night's airing.

Mitchell says the show has already been recorded on tape, so it would pointless for any would-be assassin to target him.

"Even if you kill us, the cookie will still be eaten on the air," he said.

The End Of Arab Dominance

Auroroa over at The Midnight Sun has an interesting article up (from the Economist) entitled
"Engineering Arab Dominance" which postulates that there has never been a real threat of an energy shortage. Instead, manipulations in the energy market has been Machiavellian maneuverings aimed at maintaining Arab dominance in the world's energy markets:

Wake up call: It’s never been about an oil shortage but always about control of the world’s hottest commodity and the politics of that. For some years now, ‘experts’ have been predicting the decline of the oil supplies of the world. Frantic talk of ‘peak oil’ has pushed oil prices through the roof. In the 1970’s OPEC set off a global recession by driving oil prices past an amount equal to $100 a barrel in today’s terms.

As a response, Western countries feverishly developed technology to reduce their oil dependence. Subsequently, demand eased up and the oil companies were left with large amounts of excess oil.

To avoid a price crash OPEC slowed down production while big Western firms gladly supplied the increasing demand out of their smaller oil reserves. Now the smaller reserves of the West are running out and Western firms are forced to look at extremely expensive projects such as coaxing crude from under the icy oceans of the Arctic.

Meanwhile OPEC is fast heading for a monopoly. Oil prices have already tripled since the beginning of this decade to between $60 and $80 per barrel, and OPEC will probably opt to do all they can to keep supply low and prices ever higher.

Advocates of biofuel will scream for subsidies and sales of fuel efficient cars and hybrids will skyrocket. While our governments may rail at Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Iran for their greed, OPEC is gaining the upper hand. Why would they stop now?

The answer is, they won't stop.

However, consider Arab civilization. It is distinctly lacking in education, literacy, and as a result, technological innovation of any kind. Truth is, oil will not always be the leading source of energy. Man is too restless and creative a creature to continue doing the same thing forever. Of course, restlessness and creativity are rewarded in Western countries, whereas they aren't in Arab countries. Hence, our dominance in the field of technological innovations.

Today, Craig Venter and his team of scientists announced that they had created the world's first entirely synthetic bacteria molecule:

WASHINGTON - It's another step in the quest to create artificial organisms: Scientists have synthesized the complete DNA of a type of bacteria. The experiment, published online Thursday by the journal Science, isn't a living germ, just its genetic structure.

Ok, so what's the big deal, Pastorius? Some egghead has created an artificial organism which is little more than gunk in the primordial soup of science.

Well, kind of. But, what is the goal of the Venter Institute?

... scientists from Maryland's J. Craig Venter Institute called it the largest manmade stretch of DNA to date, and therefore a logical step in the fledgling field of "synthetic biology" that aims to build new organisms that work differently than nature intended, such as producing new fuels.

The Venter group started with some off-the-shelf laboratory-made DNA fragments. They overlapped and joined these stretches to make ever-larger chunks of genetic material until they finally had a manmade copy of the entire genome of a small bacterium called Mycoplasma genitalium, a genital germ.

Last year, Venter's team performed a "genome transplant": Researchers transplanted all of the genes from one species of Mycoplasma into another, switching a goat germ into a cattle germ. Somehow, the transplant itself sparked the donor genes to start working; Venter uses a computer analogy to say it "booted up."

Now he must test if this new artificial Mycoplasma genome can boot up, too — by putting the DNA into a living cell to see if takes over and becomes a synthetic organism.

"I don't view that we're creating life," Venter told The Associated Press last year in describing this series of experiments. "I view that we're modifying life to come up with new life forms by designing and synthetically constructing chromosomes."

From Wikipedia:

In a recent interview with New Scientist when asked "Assuming you can make synthetic bacteria, what will you do with them?", Venter replied

Over the next 20 years, synthetic genomics is going to become the standard for making anything. The chemical industry will depend on it. Hopefully, a large part of the energy industry will depend on it. We really need to find an alternative to taking carbon out of the ground, burning it, and putting it into the atmosphere. That is the single biggest contribution I could make.

Furthermore it suggests that one of the main purposes for creating synthetic bacteria would be to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels.[

And, with that, we'll be able to say, goodbye to Arab dominance in the energy sector and with that we will be able to stop worrying about Islamic civilization.

Danish Muslim Party: Denmark Will Be Muslim Soon

The Muslims of Denmark are very confident that they will soon claim Denmark as the land of Allah:

Dansk Muslim Party says it will be biggest party of Denmark ''and it may be soon. First day after Turkey becomes EU member country - about one million 20-50 years old Muslims may move to Denmark? And after that Denmark will be a Muslim country? Be ready!''

A small website "damp.mono.net" claiming to be that of the Dansk Muslim Parti (Danish Muslim Party) "DAMP" has published a "press release" in poor English mixed with Danish, saying that "Danish Muslim party's only agenda is to get Muslims into Danish politics and into the parliament, no matter what our ideas and religious or political beliefs are."

Citing the logic that as they live in Denmark and number around 700,000 Muslims, "we could actually have about 60 (=1/3) Muslim representatives in Danish parliament, and therefore also in Danish government", that Denmark may be the first Muslim land in Europe and able to have Muslim ideas, values and viewpoints become heard, respected and understood better, and discrimination stopped.

It says that "we have Freedom of religion in Denmark, and therefore everyone has the right to practice their religion what ever it is, and also society must respect every religion and accept its manners and beliefs therefore for example the Danish People's Party's (DF) opinions and agenda may be criminal, and may become judged as a crime if judged according to international laws."

The website itself is a free home page hosted by a Danish internet service at no expense to DAMP, thus giving the lie that it is not possible to read anywhere what Muslims or immigrants think or say about the situation in Denmark, although DAMP appears not to have much to say beyond its amateur attempt at a press release. Any media coverage of it is bound to be unfavorable, if this party is registered and actually exists, while a party that has no money to put up a professional site clearly is no threat to Danish democracy.

The treatise which appears to be the work of a single semi-literate and poorly educated person judging from its arguments and presentation goes on to say that the "Muslim party will be biggest party of Denmark - and it may be soon. First day after Turkey becomes EU member country - about one million 20-50 year old Muslims [may] move to Denmark, and after that Denmark [may] be a muslim country. Be ready!" Presenting this argument in a threatening way without explaining what and how Danes should "be ready."

The communique then goes on to soothe Danish nerves, saying that "many Danes feel this strange, because Denmark has not had a Muslim government before - but we can assure you that everything will be better in Muslim Denmark: No drugs, no crime, peace, and humanity - instead of drug culture, immorality, possibly human rights crimes and violence which we have now. But we may not wait that - we must be a party of government already now."

While the site clearly has little or no professional backing, compelling logic or force of argument, let alone practical and meaningful policies, and therefore no chance of making headway in politics, it makes for interesting reading into the mind set prevalent among uneducated Muslims primarily from South Asia, who believe that the spread of Islam is not by ideas, good example and respect but by way of immigration, force of numbers and taking over the host in similar ways to the European Zionist regime's occupation of Palestine.

And silly as that all may seem, the Turkish seem to agree:

If you thought Turkey was no threat to the West, think again. A new generation of politicians is aiming to Islamise the state by stealth. The AKP - Adalet ve Kalkinma Partisi, or Justice and Development Party - has a stranglehold on Turkey for the foreseeable future.

The AKP was founded to replace a previous Islamic party banned for extremism. It benefited hugely from the corruption scandals that dragged down the previous government, taking two-thirds of parliament in the 2002 general election (on a third of the vote).

On Friday, its ex-foreign secretary Abdullah Gul narrowly failed to win a victory in the first round of presidential elections. The result was close enough to prompt public demonstrations by secularists ahead of the second round voting on May 2, and a statement from the military - long the guardians of Turkey's secular traditions - warning against a pro-Islam political agenda.

Since coming to power, the AKP has done nothing revolutionary, but it does have a revolutionary agenda. For all their suavity, its leaders seek to transform the country into a Sunni Muslim republic. This collides with institutions and laws strictly limiting Islam's role in public life, and with a long-standing security alliance with Israel.

It also collides with democracy itself, for no Koranic state can have a sovereign parliament free to legalise such abominations as equal rights for women and homosexuals or the drinking of alcohol.

A sinister slogan attributed to the AKP is that democracy is 'a bus we can ride until we reach our station'. Under Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his foreign secretary Abdullah Gul, the party has been cautious until now.

But abroad the AKP has been more strident. Turkey has stepped up relations with Muslim countries and cooled them with Israel. They have capitalised on public suspicion of theWestern war on terror and yet have pursued Turkey's application to join the EU.

There is no inconsistency. The AKP's apparent ambitions in Europe are its most strategic deceptions. Ostensibly, the aim is simply to accelerate Turkey's climb to prosperity.

However, a key condition imposed by the EU is the army's abrogation of political authority - which suits the AKP just fine, for the military is the greatest barrier to Islamisation. Moreover, the party shares the Islamist belief that Europe will inevitably be conquered by the high birthrates of its Muslim inhabitants - and Turkey's entry would immediately add some 70 million.

Are you ready, my European friends?

One murdered and others injured in terrorist attack

More terrorist attacks have flared up again in two places:
One Israeli was killed and another wounded Thursday night in a shooting attack near the entrance to the Shuafat refugee camp in northern Jerusalem.

One of the wounded died after resuscitation attempts and the other, a female, was listed in serious condition.

IDF sources said that terrorists had approached the entrance to Shuafat by foot and opened fire at a group of Israelis nearby and then fled the scene. Military forces and Border Policemen immediately dispatched search parties to catch the gunmen.

In another simultaneous incident, two terrorists were killed after they infiltrated a high school in Kfar Etzion, south of Jerusalem.

The terrorists, armed with knives and possibly with a pistol, infiltrated the kibbutz - in the Gush Etzion settlement bloc - and snuck into a building used by the Makor Haim High School, run by Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz.

"The terrorists came inside and began stabbing students," a defense official said. Three students were injured, including two moderately. They were all evacuated to Hadassah Hosptial in Jerusalem.

Shortly after the infiltration, a number of the school's counselors, armed with guns, arrived at the scene and shot and killed the terrorists. IDF sources hailed the student's quick response.

"This could have ended much worse," a source in the Central Command said.
I don't know if Olmert's government will take any serious action, however.

Dutch Brace For Backlash Over Geert Wilders Film

The story of Geert Wilders new film is breaking into the mainstream. Of course, they refer to him as an "extreme right wing politician", but at least they are supporting his right to free speech.

From Sky News:

If I insult you, am I responsible for your violence?

It's a question being debated in the Netherlands this week as Dutch embassies around the world beef up their security ahead of the release of a film on the internet which allegedly insults the Koran. It's reported to show the Koran being torn up and otherwise desecrated.

The extreme right wing politician Geert Wilders has made the ten minute film promoting his belief that the Koran inspires people 'to do the worst things'. His views have inspired him to talk about a 'Tsunami of Islamisation' in Europe, for the Koran to be banned, and for Dutch Muslims to either give up their religion or leave the country.

These remarks have gained his party nine seats in the 150 seat parliament and himself a 24 hour police guard.

He needs it. The last Dutchman to make a film which angered some ended up with a knife in his chest attached to a note insulting Jews and Christians. Theo Van Gogh's murderer, an Islamist, also attempted to behead his victim in the street.

The violence of the Danish Cartoon protests of 2005 roared around the world and resulted in dozens of deaths. Now, hearing of the Wilders film, the Iranian Parliament has warned of 'extensive repercussions around the world' if it's shown

Mr Wilders has reacted by announcing he will delay release for two weeks and accepts he may have to leave the country. Dutch Embassies around the world have been put on alert and the Dutch counter terrorist services have held emergency meetings with the Government. Most politicians in the Netherlands believe Mr Wilders is being inflammatory and insulting, but are sticking to the principle of freedom of expression.

It could all come to nothing, but it could get ugly. The Grand Mufti of Syria accuses Mr Wilders of 'inciting wars and bloodshed and he will be responsible'.

This in effect means, 'it's your fault if I'm violent' which is an interesting argument but not one which would stand up in a court of law. If someone insults your family and you hit them you are still guilty of violent physical assault.

The law of the street might agree you did the right thing but few intelligent people can argue that the law of street is a good way to handle inter-communal relations. People who always react with violence to perceived and or real insults usually end up in prison or mental institutions.

He said it, not me.

Muslims who get insulted, to the point of violence, by words ... yes, they belong in a prison, or a mental instituion.

Rudy Kicked Arafat Out Of Gala Event

I'm saddened by the fact that Giuliani is not doing well in the Caucuses. Many people say Romney understands the terrorist threat. That does seem to be the case. But, there's a difference between understanding a problem, and being willing to do something about it. Giuliani has proven, time and again, that he is willing to take the heat that comes with being a doer, not a talker.

Check this out, from Atlas Shrugs:

On October 23, 1995, Mayor Giuliani hosted a private concert for the United Nations' 50th anniversary. All of the world's leaders were invited except two: Fidel Castro and Yasser Arafat. Unlike Castro, Arafat decided to attend anyways and was swiftly asked to leave by Mayor Giuliani.

The uproar was deafening and a State Department spokesman - Nicholas Burns - scolded, "We don't think this is right. (Arafat) is the leader of the Palestinian people, and he is negotiating peace with Israel. He should be given the respect and dignity and hospitality in the United States that the leader of the Palestinian people deserves."

To which Rudy replied, "I would not invite Arafat to anything, anywhere, anytime, anyplace ... I would rather not have someone who has been implicated in the murders of Americans there."

Saudi Arabia: The Horrors of Life Under the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice

ARAB NEWS: It has unfortunately become a regular headline in our newspapers. We learn of people beaten up by members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice — for short, the commission. The details of the beatings and the reasons for them can be dealt with later but the outstanding fact that strikes us is that people were assaulted with a severity that lands them in hospitals and, in two reported cases, killed those who were assaulted.

The latest of these reports concerns a boy from Najran who was attacked by the commission. Allegedly — and I am quoting from the newspaper report, the boy “confronted the men over a violation supposedly committed by his brother.” In other words, he was not the target; he was simply defending his brother. According to the boy, four members of the commission “insulted him and banged his head against a car until he became unconscious.” Denial Is No Defence >>> By Abeer Mishkhas

Wilders Warned He May Have to Leave

Photo of the courageous Geert Wilders courtesy of Google Images

DUTCH NEWS: MP Geert Wilders has been told he may have to leave the Netherlands temporarily when his short firm over the Koran is completed, the anti-Islam campaigner says in an article he has written in Wednesday's Volkskrant.

Wilders says the warning came from the government's terrorism tzar Tjibbe Joustra.

The film was due to be ready for screening at the end of this month but has been delayed for several weeks, says Wilders. [Source: Wilders warned he may have to leave]

This is the comment I have left with the newspaper. It will be interesting to see if it gets published. Is freedom of speech still alive and kicking?
Geert Wilders is a courageous politician in a sea of craven fools!

What he is stating is so obviously correct; yet most of the other Dutch politicians are afraid of telling the people that he is right.

A politician is a public servant: He is elected into office in order to serve the best interests of the people. He believes - rightly in my view - that the Netherlands and Europe is under threat from Islam. It is therefore his duty to inform the vast majority of people who have far less understanding of the problem than he.

As has been written in the UK's 'Daily Telegraph', Holland is governed by people who are fearful of Islam. It would have been more accurate to have stated that ALL Western nations are being governed by people who are fearful of Islam! For all Western governments surely are.

I applaud the courage of Geert Wilders! We need more politicians like him. Would that there were many, many more. Then, perhaps, the West would have a better chance of survival. - ©Mark

World War IV: 21 Days in August - Part 4

A year an half ago, I wrote a series of posts on how World War IV could begin through the eyes of a blogger. I started thinking about how the coming world war would play out if we took random opinions and news items and stitched them together portraying, over a 21 day period, one scenario of how World War IV will enfold. Granted there are others, but this one, as an escalation process, I believe is most likely grounded in what pundits are saying the coming war would look like. It's interesting that I had to make so few changes from a year and half ago.

I'll run this scenario over this week. It starts a few years out, but the scenario could begin to unfold tomorrow.

Day Sixteen: 12:00 PM PST
The news is bleak. Many demonstrations throughout cities in the US demand that the government do something about the Muslim threat. The Administration is under siege and there are calls by Congress to quarantine the threat. Some of the public are not waiting. In the southwest from Arizona to Texas, vigilante groups roam the frightened cities of their cities doing ‘citizens arrests’ of any young Muslim male. They are taken to secure places like auto impound lots and herded into make shift compounds. The local police side with the vigilantes and refuse to force them to release the Muslim youths. Michelle Malkin’s blog reports that the governor of those states called out the National Guard but the local residents surround the make shift internment camps and riots breakout between them and the guardsmen. There are casualties on both sides.

The President calls out the US ARMY but instead of freeing the Muslim youths, he orders the Army to take them to specially set up internment camps that are being constructed for the detaining of all Muslim youths between the ages of 14 and 35 and their families for their ‘protection’. The ACLU, NAAACP, CAIR and other civil liberties organization demand action from Congress and the Supreme Court to cease the internment of Muslim-Americans. This Week on The Gathering Storm Radio Show

Listen to the nearly famous Gathering Storm Radio Show, that AlwaysOnWatch and I co-host. The show broadcasts live every Friday for one hour at NOON, Pacific Time.

Friday, January 25: We have three guests scheduled for this week: Cinnamon Stillwell of Campus Watch, and bloggers Elmer's Brother and Nanc.
1. This week's guest at the top of the hour is Cinnamon Stillwell of Cinnamon Stillwell.com, the Cinnamon Stillwell Blog and Daniel Pipes's Campus Watch: Monitoring Middle East Studies on Campus. Read the mission statement of Campus Watch HERE. From Campus Watch:

CAMPUS WATCH, a project of the Middle East Forum, reviews and critiques Middle East studies in North America with an aim to improving them. The project mainly addresses five problems: analytical failures, the mixing of politics with scholarship, intolerance of alternative views, apologetics, and the abuse of power over students....
Ms. Stillwell is the Northern California representative for Campus Watch and has written articles for the American Thinker, Family Security Matters, Frontpage Magazine, Accuracy In Media, Newsbusters, Israel National News, the Jewish News Weekly of N. CA, the Conservative Voice, and many others.

2. At the bottom of the hour, Elmer's Brother and Nanc will join us for a humorous look at current events and trends. Or they could adopt a serious tone. With EB and Nanc, one never knows how they are going to approach matters!

The call-in number is (646) 915-9870.

Callers welcome!
