"Stop the Obama Constitutional Crisis" petition!

Petition Frequently Asked Questions:

What does this petition actually do?

Unlike other online petitions every visitor signing can leave comments and send private emails directly to Congress.

This will make your petition more effective because the public and the media can view all the comments in the online petition. Most importantly, your group's emails and letters are sent directly to your elected representatives with your petition text. This combination of an online presence and direct communication to Congress gives your message as much impact as possible.

Is there a cost for signing the petition and sending email?

It is FREE to sign the petition and send emails to Congress.

I need to know that my e-mail and other information is secure.

We share your concern about privacy. We don't sell or share your personal information with anyone, except for your elected officials in Congress and, in some cases, the petition organizer. Our full privacy policy is here: http://www.rallycongress.com/signup/privacy/

Who will be the final recipient of this petition? How long does it take?

After people sign a public petition, they have an option of also sending emails and printed letters to Congress. Most signers do that. The emails are delivered shortly thereafter (depending on how busy the servers are) and the letters usually the next business day. It can take time for Congressional staff to process the incoming emails and letters — sometimes a week or longer, depending on the office and the overall volume of mail they are receiving.

For some petitions, the petition organizers will also export and independently deliver the petition as a whole to further reinforce the message.

Greenspan Recants

Guest Commentary by Edward Cline:

The headlines chortled around the world: “Greenspan at the Capitol: A hero no more” -- “Greenspan takes a hit” -- “Greenspan: I was wrong about the economy, sort of…” -- “Ex-Fed chairman concedes ‘mistake’” -- “House panel heaps blame on Alan Greenspan for financial crisis” – “Greenspan ‘shocked that free markets are flawed.”

Representative Henry Waxman (D-Calif), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, managed to sneer, drool and look sanctimonious at the same time. “My question for you is simple,” he asked a subdued Alan Greenspan, former head of the Federal Reserve. “Were you wrong?”

Greenspan answered meekly, “Well, partly.”

Greenspan was interrogated by the House committee on October 24. He said he was wrong that deregulation and free markets were the most efficacious means of sustaining a viable economy.

Badgered by lawmakers, the former Federal Reserve chairman found himself denying the nation’s economic crisis was his fault on Thursday but conceding the meltdown had revealed a flaw in a lifetime of economic thinking and had left him in a ‘state of shocked disbelief.’
The question is: How would he know that free markets and deregulation of them would be the most efficacious means of sustaining the economy? He abandoned the free market when he became head of the Federal Reserve. Perhaps when he chose to accept that job, he imagined he could save free enterprise from the depredations of the government. Now he knows the consequences of compromise.

Greenspan, who stepped down [as Federal Reserve chief] in 2006, acknowledged under questioning that he had made a ‘mistake’ in believing that banks, operating in their own self-interest, would do what was necessary to protect their shareholders and institutions….

He said the boom in subprime lending occurred because of the huge demand for investment opportunities in a global economy, and he blamed the crash on a failure by investors to properly assess the risks from such mortgages, which went to borrowers with weak credit…On the billions of dollars of losses suffered by financial institutions because of their investments in subprime mortgages, Greenspan said he had been shocked by the failure of banking officials to protect their shareholders from bad loan decisions.

’A critical pillar to market competition and free markets did break down,’ Greenspan said. ‘I still do not understand why it happened.’
Greenspan called the role of self-interest and rationality “a flaw in the model…that defines how the world works.”

The true “flaw” in Greenspan’s thinking is that it was not a “free market” he and Congressional policies were “managing” or “mismanaging,” but one defined by government intervention. The government decided that individuals with weak credit should be able to borrow money to buy homes. The only way it could persuade banks and other private institutions to loan that money was with force or the fear of it. Reason and rationality flee when force becomes a factor in men’s decisions, to be replaced with the pragmatism of punishment-avoidance or a risk-free shot at easy money.

The “critical pillar” that Greenspan claims broke down was missing from in foundation of the subprime lending house of cards: the principle of the trader.

Writing about the dangers and mechanics of the welfare state, Ayn Rand, Greenspan’s former protégé, noted in The Ayn Rand Letter, in her article, “A Preview,“ [Vol. 1 No. 23: 14 August 1972] that

…Altruism feeds the first need [in this instance, the need of the poor for subprime mortgages], statism feeds the second [in this instance, the need of power-seekers, such as Paulson, Bernanke, Waxman et al.]. Pragmatism blinds everyone -- including victims and profiteers -- not merely to the deadly nature of the process, but even to the fact that a process is going on.
Which would explain why Greenspan was so “shocked.”

As Fed chairman, Greenspan defended subprime mortgages from regulation or oversight. He should have been the first to oppose the idea that the government should make them possible. Chickens are not coming home to roost on Greenspan’s shoulder, but turkey buzzards gathering to pick at the corpse of free markets. And the most gleeful buzzard was Henry Waxman.

You had the authority to prevent irresponsible lending practices that led to the subprime-mortgage crisis. You were advised to do so by many others. And now our whole economy is paying its price. Do you feel that your ideology pushed you to make decisions that you wish you had not made?
Not a word was whispered by any of the Committee members on the possibility that perhaps the government should not have been encouraging and guaranteeing bad mortgages to any private financial institution, and that if any blame for irresponsibility is to be assigned to any quarter, it should be to the ideology subscribed to by a multitude of Congressmen, including Waxman, who endorsed the policy. Their statist ideology has “pushed” them to regulate the economy for the past century. While looking for a scapegoat or someone to blame, Congress, a succession of presidents, and innumerable bureaucrats and regulators will search everywhere but in their own houses and their own ideologies.

Greenspan, in the past, and while being given the third degree by the House committee, forgot that ideologies that are “partly” right and “partly” wrong must be, in practice, entirely wrong, and that, in the long run, the ”wrong” premises will become the leitmotif of that ideology.

During that interrogation, Greenspan recanted his belief in free markets:

…[H]e defended the Fed’s ability to detect economic trends, saying it was better than that of the private sector. ‘If all those extraordinarily capable people were unable to foresee the development of this critical problem…I think we have to ask ourselves why is that?…And the answer is that we’re not smart enough as people. We just cannot see that far in advance.’
That lack of omniscience is the practical reason why he should never have accepted the job of chairman of the Federal Reserve. And, apparently, all throughout his career, he either never made the connection between the moral and the practical, or he discarded the connection as mere “ideology” because it stood in the way of his “good intentions.”

Thus, Greenspan handed the Democrats and sundry statists of all persuasions what they need to impose more government controls on an economy already crippled by their past policies. What Waxman asked was what Ayn Rand might have called a “package deal” question, which Greenspan failed either to detect, question or qualify in his answer. Waxman, a career statist and point man in the House for the total welfare state, got what he and others on the House committee sought: a putative repudiation of free markets, and, by necessity, of freedom.

No sympathy should be wasted on Greenspan. He did what John Galt in Atlas Shrugged refused to do even at the point of a gun and under physical torture: he agreed to become an economic dictator of the country. Nor was he threatened with torture or death as Galileo was when he was forced by the Church to recant his theory of the solar system. Of all the economists who have advised various administrations over the last century, Greenspan had the least excuse for advocating statist economics.

When he accepted the appointment by President Ronald Reagan in 1987 to become Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Greenspan “legitimatized” or sanctioned the idea that the government should “manage” the economy with “rational” interventions. Now he may see the true “flaw” in his “good intentions” and what those intentions have inexorably wrought: a greater destruction of freedom and wealth than he admits he could have imagined.

Now he may understand how and why it could have happened.

Ahmadinejad's health rumored to be deteriorating

The health of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is deteriorating, according to reports in the Islamic Republic.

The reports come after Ahmadinejad, 52, canceled a series of public appearances, including two speeches and a cabinet meeting.

A top aide to Ahmadinejad, Amir Mansour Borghei, told journalists the president was "indisposed".

Iranian news Web site Shahab said doctors had advised the president to reduce his workload if he wanted to avoid illness, quoting "sources close to the government."

The Web site indicated that the president had pulled out of the engagements due to fatigue caused by low blood pressure.

However, other sources in Teheran speculated that the opposition was spreading rumors about Ahmadinejad's health in order to garner support for next year's elections.

The Depraved World of Jihadi Child Porn

By Stephen Brown
FrontPageMagazine.com | Friday, October 24, 2008
Besides their well-known penchant for anti-Semitism, misogyny and nihilistic violence, Muslim extremists are also gaining a disturbing reputation among British security agencies as collectors of child pornography.

According to a report on The Times website last week, police in Great Britain are discovering that their investigations into Muslim terrorism are leading them into the depraved world of child sexual exploitation. The reverse is also occurring with child protection officers encountering people who are “preparing to carry out terrorist acts.”

At one time, the link between the two deviant behaviours was considered so strong that security officials considered establishing an anti-terrorism project involving child welfare experts, but never followed through because Scotland Yard’s hands were too full with other terrorist investigations.

But demand is growing in Great Britain for the setting up of such a task force that could help security agencies understand the terrorist mindset and prevent future attacks.

“This is an important development,” said Labor MP Andrew Dinsmore. “We have to do more than just police work. It needs child protection, criminological and psychological work. It could become a very important weapon in the fight against terrorism.”

Police say they are already noticing a similarity in methods Muslim terrorists and paedophiles use in manipulating and grooming young people for their corrupt purposes. This usually involves introducing them to their deviant behaviour and then convincing them over time that it is normal.

British security personnel first became aware of a connection between Muslim extremism and child pornography in 2006. When investigating the terrorist connections of an east end London mosque preacher, Abdul Makim Khalisadar, a former primary school assistant, the 26-year-old’s DNA was found to match that of an unsolved rape case of a woman. Upon his arrest, police discovered Khalisadar also had a large amount of hardcore child pornography material on his computer.

In the same year, police made a similar discovery after raiding a suspected Muslim terrorist’s home, looking for a chemical bomb. While no explosive device was found, police did discover 44 “indecent” pictures of children on the 23-year-old man’s home computer and cell phone. Child porn, The Times reports, has been found “during investigations into some of the most advanced suspected plots.”

European security officials first discovered child porn images in a Muslim extremist’s possession when they raided a mosque in Milan, Italy, in 2001. Embedded in the disturbing images, though, they found hidden messages sent by fellow Islamists, causing Italian security agents to believe the terrorists were copying a clandestine method paedophiles use in communicating with one another. At that time, police believed this form of communications camouflage (called steganography) accounted for the child porn’s presence in the mosque.

But other, less doubtful, cases have cropped up since then. When arrested, Abdelkader Ayachine, a suspected Muslim terrorist currently awaiting trial in Spain, possessed almost 40,000 child pornographic movies and images, a number far exceeding any need for encoded communications. Ayachine was connected to the Casablanca bombing terrorist group that killed 45 people in 2003 and stands accused in the Spanish court of inciting jihad and recruiting fighters for the Iraq war. Prosecutors say his child pornography collection consisted mainly of “minors having sex, among themselves and with adults.”

Muslim extremists’ attraction to child pornography has been attributed to cultural factors. An Italian magistrate involved in the Milan mosque case said possession of child porn by Islamists did not necessarily indicate paedophilic tendencies, but rather was the result of cultural differences. Girls, he stated, often become wives in the Muslim world at age 11 and 12.

The Islamists’ interest in boys as sex objects is generally owed to their beliefs and social milieu. Their strict religious convictions do not allow them to be with a woman outside their own families, let alone touch one, before marriage. Moreover, in some Muslim countries, males can’t even catch a glimpse of the demonized female form because of the body-encompassing clothing she is forced to wear. In such a gender segregated environment, homosexual behavior develops, especially towards boys.

Even the Taliban, which executed homosexuals when it ruled Afghanistan, could not eradicate the sexploitation of boys, even in its own ranks. Among the 30 commands it issued to its fighters, Rule No. 19 forbid them from taking young boys without facial hair into their barracks. After the Taliban regime fell, a Fox news report indicated pederasty in Afghanistan returned to its previous place as an accepted social norm.

Sexual exploitation of boys in Muslim countries also has a long history. The Asia Times columnist, Spengler (an anonymous pseudonym), wrote in his column, Sufism, Sodomy and Satan, that, in the High Middle Ages, Sufism, Islam’s mystic branch, “is the only case in which a mainstream current of a major world religion preached pederasty as a path to spiritual enlightenment.” He then cites a German historian who claims this Sufi practice “persisted in many Islamic countries until very recent times.” The 2007 movie, The Kite Runner, located in Afghanistan, showed a “last vestige” of Sufism’s pederast side when dancing boys appeared in female dress.

Perhpas not altogether insignificant in this grotesque phenomenon is that the Koran itself promises to put pre-pubescent boys at the service of jihadi martyrs not interested in the female virgins awaiting them in paradise. The boys will be like “scattered pearls” of “perpetual freshness” (Suras 52:24, 56:17, 76:19).

The consequences of Islamist misogyny, gender segregation and sexual abuse of Muslim boys are far-reaching. Besides growing up to be sexual deviants who collect child pornography and may victimize other children, such sexually traumatized Muslim boys are predisposed to become involved in terrorism as a way of expressing their sexual rage. It therefore comes as no surprise that one anti-terror source told the Times: “A way of finding who the extremists and terrorists are is to go through the child porn sites.”

Pakistani troops capture militant stronghold

LOI SAM, Pakistan (AP) - A two-month offensive by Pakistani forces has driven militants from a stronghold through which Taliban and al-Qaida fighters had poured into neighboring Afghanistan to attack U.S. troops, the army said Saturday.

But operation claimed the lives of at least 95 civilians—whose deaths are a critical issue here that observers warn can only increases sympathy for the militants.

The military said its forces captured Loi Sam in the Bajur tribal region Friday after a long and bloody struggle. The town sits on a vital intersection linking the border to three neighboring Pakistan regions.

"Now we have complete control in this area from where miscreants used to go to Afghanistan, Mohmand, Dir and Swat," army spokesman Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas told reporters flown in to Bajur by military helicopter. "Miscreants have been expelled or killed."

Bajur is part of Pakistan's tribal belt that has become the stronghold of Taliban and al-Qaida fighters waging an intensifying insurgency on both sides of the border.

The army offensive in Bajur was launched in early August, after government officials declared it a "mega-sanctuary" for militants who had set up a virtual mini-state, complete with Taliban-style courts.

U.S. officials worried about record fatalities among their forces in Afghanistan have praised the operation and said it was helping reduce violence on the Afghan side. But the Americans have not halted missile strikes on suspected militants hide-outs in other parts of Pakistan's wild border region, despite Islamabad's protests that the attacks violate its sovereignty.

The army says it faced stiff resistance near Loi Sam from Taliban militants reinforced by foreign fighters, including some from Afghanistan.

Maj. Gen. Tariq Khan, who commands a paramilitary force, said it could still take six months to a year to gain complete control of Bajur.

Violence and government restrictions have made it virtually impossible to verify accounts of the fighting.

Khan said a total of 1,500 suspected militants had died in the operation along with 73 army soldiers.

The region has been seen as a possible hiding place for al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and his deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, but Khan said the troops had not picked up their trail. THE RESTr

The Meaning of Freedom

An American Creed

I Do Not Choose to Be a Common Man

It is my right to be uncommon—if I can.

I seek opportunity—not security. I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me.

I want to take the calculated risk; to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed.

I refuse to barter incentive for a dole. I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence; the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of utopia.

I will not trade freedom for beneficence nor my dignity for a handout. I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat.

It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid; to think and act for myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations and to face the world boldly and say, “This I have done.”

Bill Ayers Was A Radical Loon When Obama Was Only 47

From Ann Coulter:

The media are acting as if they completely and fully vetted Obama during the Democratic primaries and that's why they are entitled to send teams of researchers into Alaska to analyze Sarah Palin's every expense report.

In fact, the mainstream media did no vetting. They seem to have all agreed, "OK, none of us will get into this business with Jeremiah Wright, 'Tony' Rezko, Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayers and everyone's impression of an angry Michelle Obama on 'The Jerry Springer Show.'"

During one of the Democratic primary debates, Hillary Clinton was hissed for mentioning Syrian national Rezko, and during another, ABC moderator George Stephanopoulos nearly lost his career for asking Obama one question about William Ayers.

In the past week, TV anchors have taken to claiming that Obama "refuted" John McCain's statement that Obama launched his political career at the home of former Weather Underground leader Ayers.

No, Obama "denied" it; he didn't "refute" it. If "denying" something is the same as "refuting" it, then maybe the establishment media can quit harping on Palin's supposed lack of qualifications to be president, since she too "refuted" that by denying it.

Back before the media realized it needed to lie about Obama launching his political career at Ayers' house, the Los Angeles Times provided an eyewitness account from a liberal who attended the event.

"When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the living room of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. They were launching him -- introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread."

Times has now stripped this item from its Web page, but the great blogger Patterico has preserved it for posterity on his Web page.

Obama's glib remark that "Bill Ayers is a professor of education in Chicago; 40 years ago when I was 8 years old he engaged in despicable acts with a domestic group. I have roundly denounced those attacks" -- doesn't answer anything.

First of all, the fact that Ayers is a professor of education proves only one thing: He is dumber than any person without an education degree.

Ayers is such an imbecile, we ought to be amazed that he's teaching at a university -- even when you consider that it's an ed school -- except all former violent radicals end up teaching. Roughly 80 percent of former Weathermen are full college professors -- 99 percent if you don't include the ones killed in shoot-outs with the police or in prison -- i.e., not yet pardoned by a Democratic president.

Any other profession would have banned a person like Ayers. Universities not only accept former domestic terrorists, but also move them to the front of the line. In addition to Ayers, among those once on the FBI's most-wanted list who ended up in cushy college teaching positions are Bernardine Dohrn (Northwestern University), Mark Rudd (a junior college in New Mexico) and Angela Davis (History of Consciousness Department, University of California at Santa Cruz).

While others were hard at work on Ph.D.s, Susan Rosenberg was conspiring to kill cops and blow up buildings, and was assembling massive caches of explosives. This put her on the fast track for a teaching position at Hamilton College!

Despite having absolutely no qualifications to teach, having earned only a master's degree in "writing" through a correspondence course, Rosenberg was offered a position at Hamilton within a few years of President Clinton pardoning her in 2001, releasing her from a 58-year prison sentence for participating in the murder of cops and possessing more than 700 pounds of explosives.

But Obama thinks it's a selling point to say that Ayers is a college professor.

Hundreds of college professors have signed a letter vouching for Ayers, which would be like Lester Maddox producing a letter from George Wallace assuring us that Maddox is a respected member of the community. No, really, I've got the letter right here!

The media keep citing the fact that the money Obama and Ayers distributed to idiotic left-wing causes came -- as The New York Times put it -- "from Walter H. Annenberg, the billionaire publisher and philanthropist and President Richard M. Nixon's ambassador to the United Kingdom."

Great Republican though he was, Walter Annenberg died in 2002. The money came from the Annenberg Foundation, which, like all foundations, distributes money to projects that its founder would despise. John Kerry ran for president on the late John Heinz's money. That didn't mean Republican Heinz was endorsing Kerry.

As John O'Sullivan says, any foundation that is not explicitly right-wing will become a radical left-wing organization within a few years. It could be the Association of University Women, the American Association of Retired People, the American Rose Growers, the Foundation for the Study of Railroad Engineers or the Choral Society of Newport Beach.

Left-wing radicals swarm to free foundation money, where they can give gigantic grants to one another and they will never have to do a day's work. That's exactly what Obama and Ayers did with Annenberg's money.

None of the Annenberg money went to schoolchildren. It went to Ayers' left-wing crank friends to write moronic papers that we hope no one ever reads.

Instead of teaching students reading and writing, Ayers thinks they should be taught to rebel against America's "imperialist" social structure. In 2006, Ayers was in Venezuela praising communist dictator Hugo Chavez, saying, "We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution."

He has backed a line of schoolbooks such as one titled "Teaching Science for Social Justice."

Forget about Ayers' domestic terrorism when Obama "was 8 years old." Does he agree with Ayers' idiot ideas right now?

More On Bill Ayers:

Zombie: Billy Ayers' Forgotten Communist Manifesto, 'Prairie Fire'

POLITICS | Wed, Oct 22, 2008 at 6:19:08 pm PST

In an exclusive report linked here for the first time, Zombie has acquired a copy of a long-forgotten book by Barack Obama associate Bill Ayers, wife Bernardine Dohrn, and two other Weather Underground members, dedicated to RFK assassin Sirhan Sirhan, written while they were in hiding from the authorities: William Ayers’ forgotten communist manifesto: Prairie Fire.

The key points that this document brings out:

Ayers was not simply protesting “against” the Vietnam War. Firstly, he wasn’t against war in principle, he was agitating for the victory of the communist forces in Vietnam. In other words: He wasn’t against the war, he was againstour side in the war. This is spelled out in great detail in Prairie Fire. Secondly, and more significantly, the Vietnam War was only one of many issues cited by the Weather Undergound as the justifications for their violent acts. As you will see below, in various quotes from Prairie Fire and in their own list of their violent actions (and in additional impartial documentary links), Ayers and the Weather Underground enumerated dozens of different grievances as the rationales for their bombings — their overarching goal being to inspire a violent mass uprising against the United States government in order to establish a communist “dictatorship of the proletariat,” in Ayers’ own words.

Ayers and his co-authors freely brag about their bombings and other violent and illegal acts, and even provide a detailed list, most likely typed up by Ayers himself, of the crimes they had committed up to that point. Ayers’ list, scanned directly from Prairie Fire, is shown below. He may have escaped conviction due to a legal technicality (the prosecutors failed to get a warrant during some of their surveillance of the Weather Underground), but this in no way means that Ayers was factually inncoent of the crimes. As has been widely reported, after the case against him was dropped, Ayers decribed himself as “guilty as hell, free as a bird.”

Just because Ayers tries to appear respectable now doesn’t mean that he wasn’t a violent revolutionary in the past. In fact, as the text of Prairie Fire shows, Ayers was one of the most extreme extremists in American political history. And as the links given as the end of this essay prove, Ayers is just as politically radical now as he was back then. He has never renounced the political views he professed in the 1960s and 1970s. The only difference is that now he no longer commits violence to achieve his goals. After his stint as the leader of the Weather Underground, he shifted to a different tactic: to spread his ideology under the aegis of academia. But the goal remains the same: to turn America into a communist nation. Ayers’ contemporary writings contain many of the same ideas (and even the same phrases) found in Prairie Fire, just toned down to make them more palatable in polite society.

Zombie includes copyright-free scans of the document and its cover.

Ayers Republished His Revolutionary Manifesto in 2006

POLITICS | Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 10:35:47 am PST

Yesterday we linked to Zombie’s new report on “Billy” Ayers’ and Bernardine Dohrn’s 1974 communist declaration of war against the United States.

Little did we realize that Ayers actually republished this book dedicated to Robert F. Kennedy’s assassin Sirhan Sirhan ... in 2006: Sing a Battle Song: The Revolutionary Poetry, Statements, and Communiqus of the Weather Underground 1970 - 1974: Bernardine Dohrn, Bill Ayers, Jeff Jones: Books.

Outraged by the Vietnam War and racism in America, a group of young American radicals announced their intention to “bring the war home.” The Weather Underground waged a low-level war against the U.S. government through much of the 1970s, bombing the Capitol building, breaking Timothy Leary out of prison, and evading one of the largest FBI manhunts in history.

Sing a Battle Song brings together the three complete and unedited publications produced by the Weatherman during their most active period underground, 1970 to 1974: The Weather Eye: Communiques from the Weather Underground; Prairie Fire: The Politics of Revolutionary Anti-Imperialism; and Sing a Battle Song: Poems by Women in the Weather Underground Organization

Sing a Battle Song is introduced and annotated by three of the Weather Underground’s original organizers-Bernardine Dohrn, Bill Ayers, and Jeff Jones-all of whom are all still actively engaged in social justice movement work. Bernardine Dohrn, who during her years underground was on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list, today is a child advocate and professor of children’s law and international human rights. Bill Ayers, education professor and author of numerous books on democratic education is the author of a memoir, Fugitive Days. Jeff Jones, an environmentalist, fights global warming and other environmental threats that disproportionately harm the lives of the world’s poor.

Idealistic, inspired, pissed-off, and often way-over-the-top, the writings of the Weather Underground epitomizes the sexual, psychedelic, anti-war counterculture of the American 1960s and 1970s.

About the Author
Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, and Jeffrey Jones are former leaders of the Weather Underground. Dohrn teaches law and runs the Children and Family Justice Center at Northwestern University

Weather Underground (And Yes, That Would Include Bill Ayers) Discussed Genocide Of Americans

Only 25 million people needed to be killed - according to Ayers and his friends - to achieve the perfect Communist utopia.

Of course, I guess Larry Grathwohl could be lying, right?

From Little Green Footballs:

Former FBI informant Larry Grathwohl infiltrated the Weather Underground and helped prevent several bombing attacks by the group. In this clip from the 1982 documentary No Place to Hide, Grathwohl describes a Weather Underground meeting at which the terrorists discussed the need to murder at least 25 million people—those diehard American capitalists who would resist “reeducation.”

I asked, “well what is going to happen to those people we can’t reeducate, that are diehard capitalists?” and the reply was that they’d have to be eliminated.

And when I pursued this further, they estimated they would have to eliminate 25 million people in these reeducation centers.

And when I say “eliminate,” I mean “kill.”

Twenty-five million people.

I want you to imagine sitting in a room with 25 people, most of which have graduate degrees, from Columbia and other well-known educational centers, and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people.

And they were dead serious.

Bill Ayers Calls The Police On Fox News Reporter

What a pussy this Communist Bill Ayers is. Just watch the video. Note the Communist Red Star on his t-shirt. Note the beautiful neighborhood this Communist lives in.

I think we should spread some of that wealth around.

And note, also, that Ayers calls the police to make sure that his property is protected. He points out to the reporter that he is standing on his property.

Communism says that Property is theft.

Ayers is a complete hypocrite, just like every Communist.

Hizballah's Mugniyah replaced >> IRANIAN - Mohammed Riza Zahdi

Hizbullah has new operations chief 8 months after assassination

LONDON -- Hizbullah has reportedly replaced its operations chief eight months after his assassination.

Western intelligence sources said Iran has approved the appointment of the successor to the late Hizbullah operations chief Imad Mughniyeh.

The sources identified the successor as
Mohammed Riza Zahdi
an Iranian national
who worked in the Iranian embassy in Lebanon.

"The Iranians groomed Zahdi and when he was ready told [Hizbullah secretary-general Hassan] Nasrallah that he would replace Mughniyeh," an intelligence source said.

The sources said Iran blocked Nasrallah's attempt to replace Mughniyeh after he was assassinated in Damascus in February 2008. They said Nasrallah, although consulted, had little input in the Iranian selection.

"Nasrallah has been reduced to political activities," the source said. "He has very little influence over military operations or appointments."

Hello, calling Barack Obama who was stating in May that HAMAS and HIZBALLAH had legitimate claims (sort of like telling Georgia to exercise restraint while we attempt to rationalize both EQUAL sides)...Barack, bubby, you are telling the IRGC (who you WOULD NOT DECLARE A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION) that they have legitimate claims in Lebanon, bordering Israel.

Iran IS Hizballah.

How could this be made any more clear?

Mughniyeh was said to have overseen the training of Hizbullah forces, special operations, equipment and weapons deliveries as well as espionage. The sources said Zahdi would not have Mughniyeh's authority but would focus on the Hizbullah military buildup in southern Lebanon in coordination with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.

The sources said Zahdi, also known as Hassan Mahdawi, was with Hizbullah from nearly its inception in 1982. They said Zahdi was recruited by IRGC in the late 1980s and was given Iranian citizenship.

Nasrallah maintained control over Hizbullah military operations until the 2006 war with Israel. During the war, Nasrallah fled to a bunker to escape Israeli air strikes and the war was conducted by IRGC officers.

After the war, the sources said, Nasrallah failed to regain control over the Hizbullah military command. They said Hizbullah commanders reported directly to IRGC although Nasrallah was briefed on major decisions.

Failure to recognize these threats, congressional weaknesses, hatred of the organs of our defense and intelligence by the party in power, and coming investigations for political revenge are going to make this the 1970's on crack. It took from 1980 until 1992 to correct that decade and we should have no doubt the damage now is going to be far worse.

Look it up, this is Rome 120 BC. The oscillations are going to increase until there is street violence, and then it's going to go downhill.

Barney Frank, not content with damage of his from the mortgage crisis, now wants to cut defense spending during a war by 25%

Frank envisions post-election stimulus from Democrats
October 24, 2008 6:00 AM

NEW BEDFORD -- After the November election, Democrats will push for a second economic stimulus package that includes money for the states' stalled infrastructure projects, along with help paying for healthcare expenses, food stamps and extended unemployment benefits, U.S. Rep. Barney Frank said Thursday.

Thumbnail image for bozoUSA_420w.jpg

In a meeting with the editorial board of The Standard-Times, Rep. Frank, D-Mass., also called for a 25 percent cut in military spending, saying the Pentagon has to start choosing from its many weapons programs, and that upper-income taxpayers are going to see an increase in what they are asked to pay.

No matter what else happens the republican party at the national level needs to make a project out of removal of Frank.

Murtha, Frank, Conyers, Waters, and several others need to be targeted for defeat.

They do not serve the long term benefits of the people of the USA. They answer to a narrow clique, and have all been in congress FAR TOO LONG.

The military cuts also mean getting out of Iraq sooner, he said.

"The people of Iraq want us out, and we want to stay over their objection," he said. "It's extraordinary." The Maliki government in Iraq "can't sell (the withdrawal deal with the U.S.) because it sounds like we're going to stay too long."

"I was teasing (U.S. Rep.) Jack Murtha (a key supporter of military budgets) and I said to him, 'For the first time, somebody else has got a bill that's almost as big as yours.' We don't need all these fancy new weapons. I think there needs to be additional review."

Rep. Frank called on President Bush to appoint a senior official to guide the economic stimulus packages through the transition to the Barack Obama or John McCain administration when it takes office in January.

And he said that if the Democrats can't find an adequate agreement on a stimulus package in the lame-duck Congress, they would rather wait until the new Congress takes over -- likely with many more Democrats, if polling results bear fruit in the November voting.

People celebrate us at the grave rather early, don't they

In 1861 the major British newspapers famously enjoined that some who lived to see the birth of the USA would also live to see it's death.

Yadda yadda redux, thru 1914, 1939, 1941, 1948, 1964, Red Dawn, and lately the true morons of the arab world who see in failures of SOME mortgage backed securities, God striking the golden calf.

Add China.

"The Chinese system is superlative beyond comparison."
East-Asia-Intel.com, October 24, 2008
Western readers untutored in the Byzantine, antiquarian ways of the Chinese Communist Party leadership may be surprised that the CCP's propaganda machinery recently began an ideological campaign based on an article by senior cadre Liu Yunshan, "The Chinese system is superlative beyond comparison."

Liu, Politburo member and head of the party's Propaganda Department, wrote that "Chinese-style socialism has a superiority that is beyond measure; the China Model has demonstrated strong vigor and liveliness."

The financial tsunami that has hit the U.S. and Europe has given the CCP leadership a God-sent opportunity to lambast the "wanton ways of capitalism" and to sing the praises of "socialism with Chinese characteristics" or variants such as the "China model" and "Beijing Consensus."

Liu Yunshan

Irrespective of the fact that at least half of senior Chinese officials have sent their children and grandchildren to U.S. or European universities -- not to mention moving their assets overseas -- the cadres can't resist going on a binge of U.S. bashing. Take the chief executive of the China Construction Bank, Guo Shuqing.

While Guo, a protégé of Premier Zhu Rongji, had used U.S.-trained consultants to restructure the staid state bank before listing it on the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock markets last year, he was effusive about the "superiority" of the Chinese economic model.

"We must shatter our superstitious beliefs in the foreign banking and financial systems," Guo said last week. "Foreign banks should learn from Chinese banks."

Liberal scholars in Beijing see at least two dangers from this triumphalism and other forms of self-congratulatory excesses.

Firstly, if the China model is such a world-beater, there is no more need for economic, let alone political reform. Opening up the Chinese financial and capital markets, for example, would only make it easier for junk bonds and derivatives as well as other sugar-coated Western financial products to make their way into China. It is therefore not surprising that the recently held plenary session of the CCP Central Committee had very little to say about further economic liberalization.

It is significant that in his talk about U.S.-China relations on Oct. 21, Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson expressed concern that "some in China look at the recent failures in our financial markets and conclude that they should slow down their reforms." Instead, Paulson urged his Chinese friends "to learn from our significant mistakes and move forward with reforms that have the potential to produce important gains for China and its people."

Equally significant are mainstream Beijing views about the worthlessness of so-called universal values such as democracy and human rights.

CCP conservatives have long argued that "universal values" are invented by Washington as a "trap" to lure China into becoming a capitalist country through a process called "peaceful evolution."

Now that U.S.-style capitalism has proven to be worth little more than collateralized debt obligations, these conservative cadres argue, Beijing should not waste any more time on Western-style "universal values."

This argument runs counter to the thinking of relatively progressive leaders, such as Premier Wen Jiabao, considered the most liberal member of the Politburo. In an international press conference early 2007, Wen surprised observers by noting that institutions such as democracy and liberty were "universal values that should not be the monopoly of capitalist countries."

The implication was that, at least according to Wen, China should also embrace these values. With the ongoing tilt toward conservatism, however, the thinking of Wen and other forward-looking cadres will be mothballed for the foreseeable future.

It's still amazing that after 232 years they just don't get it. Some important people just can't comprehend what america is.
There is a reason why, with all the turmoil, the value of the dollar has skyrocketed. Somebody has figured it out.
Meanwhile politicians kid themselves with delusional fantasies.

When our freedoms are threatened BY the govt and it's minions

Government computers used to find information on Joe the Plumber
Investigators trying to determine whether access was illegal
Friday, October 24, 2008 8:57 PM
The Columbus Dispatch
"State and local officials are investigating if state and law-enforcement computer systems were illegally accessed when they were tapped for personal information about "Joe the Plumber."

Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher became part of the national political lexicon Oct. 15 when Republican presidential candidate John McCain mentioned him frequently during his final debate with Democrat Barack Obama.

The 34-year-old from the Toledo suburb of Holland is held out by McCain as an example of an American who would be harmed by Obama's tax proposals.

Public records requested by The Dispatch disclose that information on Wurzelbacher's driver's license or his sport-utility vehicle was pulled from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles database three times shortly after the debate.

Information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.

To some people who have a sense of self righteous entitlement (without reference to any party, or conadidate), any common person who iconically identifies ANY political weakness they have, must be stomped on, both to win and to serve as a lesson to the rest of the common people.

Where was this illegal access done from?

Records show it was a "test account" assigned to the information technology section of the attorney general's office, said Department of Public Safety spokesman Thomas Hunter.

Brindisi later said investigators have confirmed that Wurzelbacher's information was not accessed within the attorney general's office. She declined to provide details. The office's test accounts are shared with and used by other law enforcement-related agencies, she said.

So we have at least a moderate degree of sophistication...or what always gets the morons... a coverup.

"Kill one, terrorize a thousand"

I want to see whoever did this prosecuted and thrown in jail, and WHOEVER ASKED FOR IT OR ORDERED IT, JAILED OR RUINED

We have some real problems and they ARE every bit as attention demanding as the Wahabbi and Khomeinist freaks

I'm real sorry if Mr. Obama didn't realize, as he clearly DID NOT, that his plan, and his naked moment of revelation described himself as a man to whom - having the govt enforce the taking of things from those who imagine and act and strive in order to give it to those who do not, or have given up, or cannot is far more important than HAVING the american dream, for yourself or your children. These are not taxes meant for the running of the govt, they are meant for Mr. Obama's different society of even outcomes.

I'm real sorry if Sam Adams and Ben Franklin are spinning in their graves and we all know it.

I'm even sorrier if IN THIS CASE some people feel a normal guy like Mr. Wurzelbacher should be subjected to the blood sport of american politics just because Obama is who he is, and was in the Wurzelbacher's neighborhood.

I'm sure there are republican morons just like whoever did this.

And that is the problem. These people feel they HAVE THE RIGHT, and ARE RIGHT TO DO SO.

Well now, Joe has struck back, and he well should.

Joe 'scared for America' after talking to Obama

Saturday, October 25, 2008

Joe the Plumber all but came out of the water closet for Sen. John McCain on Friday, saying that his famous exchange with Sen. Barack Obama made him "scared for America" and that he doesn't trust the Democratic presidential candidate on taxes.

The plumber, aka Joe Wurzelbacher, burst into the headlines after he buttonholed Mr. Obama less than two weeks ago during a campaign stop in his Holland, Ohio, neighborhood and quizzed him about his tax policy. On Friday, he said that he wasn't impressed by the Illinois senator in their encounter.

"When I was face to face with him, my honest first impression was that I expected something more. I had heard so much about 'his presence' in the media that I was surprised to find that he seemed very average," Mr. Wurzelbacher wrote in a live online chat on WashingtonTimes.com (read the transcript with Mr. Wurzelbacher here).

"My gut feeling as he answered my questions? I was scared for America," he wrote in response to a reader who asked "When you were face to face with Obama, what were you thinking and how did it feel?"

Mr. Wurzelbacher, arguably the world's most famous plumber, has become a cornerstone of Mr. McCain's Republican campaign, which had embarked on a statewide blitz across Florida in a series of "Joe the Plumber" events aimed at blue-collar workers.

And since he has already suffered the slings and arrows of these execrable people.....

'Joe the Plumber' Considers Run for Congress

Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher tells Laura Ingraham he'd be up for a run for Congress.

'Joe the Plumber' may consider running for Congress in 2010.

Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher told Laura Ingraham, in an appearance on her show Friday, he'd consider it.

Wurzelbacher would be challenging longtime Rep. Marcy Kaptur.

"I'll tell you what, we'd definitely be in one heck of a fight," Wurzelbacher said, "but, you know, I'd be up for it."

We have lost our ability to believe in happy endings. People like Obama and his philosophies are why.

Hey Joe, time for some Capra.

What Are the Candidates' Positions on the Islamic Invasion of the West?

How they see the threat determines what they'll do about it. Here is a careful analysis of how each candidate views the "Islam Problem."

I think this is a good thing to share with others, especially those who think maybe Obama is all right.

Please Sign This Petition

This is what it says: I join in unity with all free people and nations in the world against Islamic religious hatred and intolerance being fomented against our human right of freedom of expression. We stand against the vicious threats of bodily harm and destruction being made in blatant protest of this basic right. We ask our leaders to stand up against these threats of intimidation. We ask them to send a strong message to the Islamic world and the perpetrators of hate and intolerance that threats to our freedoms or acts of violence and terror against us will not be tolerated. We demand that our governments of free and democratic nations and all of their legislators speak out in one voice denouncing this growing, fascist, religious assault against human rights and take immediate action to protect the freedoms therein from intimidation and fear of death or destruction.

How China Deals With Muslims

From FrontPage:

This year, during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, the government implemented strict rules governing all aspects of Uighur religious life. Henceforth, according to a recent report out of Xinjiang province, “official versions” of the Koran will be the only legal ones; imams will be barred from teaching the Koran in private; the study of Arabic will be allowed only at special government schools; and Muslim students and government workers will be “compelled to eat” during the Ramadan fast. Those Uighurs wishing to make the hajj, the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, will be obligated to do so through government-run tours that are virtually unaffordable to the average Chinese Muslim.

The Chinese government is crippled by no moral qualms about how to respond to terrorism. The Chinese Muslims being held in Guantanamo Bay would have been tortured and killed long ago had they been captured by the Chinese instead of the Americans. In fact, this was the main argument against repatriating them to China.

SecDef Gates' Ministry of Truth ..drops Islamist from characterization of terrorism

Defense Secretary Robert Gates last week referred to Islamist terrorism by the politically-correct term "violent extremism" during a speech to the U.S. Institute of Peace.

The use of the non-Islamist terminology highlights the ongoing debate in government over the use of terms like jihad and Islamic extremism in public discussions of terrorism.

Gates said Oct. 15 that "in violent extremism, we face an adversary today that seeks to eject all Westerners and Western influence from the Middle East and Southwest Asia, to destroy Israel and overthrow all secular and Western-oriented governments in the region."

In a second reference, he said "the long reach of violent extremism emanating from failed and failing states, from ungoverned spaces brought terror to America's shores and subsequently brought America and our allies to Afghanistan."

The State Department and Department of Homeland Security recently issued guidelines for U.S. government officials that said American Muslim groups had recommended not using "jihad" or Islamic extremism in labeling Muslim extremist violence in order not to offend Muslims.

cair on eagle.jpg

A U.S. Central Command Red Team of experts however, stated in a recent report that honest reports require labeling the terrorists as Islamic and jihadist since the roots of the violence lie in Islamic law.

The controversial report called for "freedom of speech in jihad analysis" and sought to debunk the State and DHS reports claiming that the use of Islamic terms in describing terrorists was offensive speech and was opposed by some U.S. Muslim groups.

Why would calling the sky blue be controversial?

Several Democrats in recent weeks have said Gates should stay on if Barack Obama wins the presidential election, an appeal that has not been rejected by Gates, according to a Pentagon spokesman.

No Matter the election result, Iran has its own agenda, and Iraq is STILL ON IT

Iran pressing covert war in Iraq despite new softline U.S. strategy

The new commander of U.S. forces in Iraq warned last week that Iran is continuing to back insurgents and terrorists in Iraq, despite gains made in stabilizing the country by U.S., Iraqi and allied forces.

Army Gen. Ray Odierno said "Iran continues to meddle inside of Iraq."

Despite the evidence of continued Iranian support for terrorism in Iraq, the Bush administration has failed to take action against Iran for the lethal assistance, although the Pentagon claims its special operations forces have been working covertly against the Iranian aid networks.

Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates has adopted softline policies toward Iran and favors a strategy of engagement with the regime in Tehran.

Gates is from the Jim Baker school of thought. Gates fits well with Gordon England, who is the force that backed Hesham Islam against Stephen Coughlin. What on earth happened to George Bush along the line to make him such a complete disaster? Gates and England together killed the F-22 at 183 planes to replace the ~750 F-15 C&D air superiority fighters which we WILL need to deter a China we pay lots of interest to on our national debt and a Russia we watch grow rich on dead dinosaurs, as WELL AS the slow movers and drones to combat Iranian infiltration.

U.S. Gen. Ray Odierno. AFP/File/Nicholas Kamm
"Clearly they have a tremendous information campaign going on against the strategic agreement between the United States and Iraq," Odierno told ABC News on Oct. 10. "They're openly criticizing it. So they want to influence the outcome of that."

The four-star general said the military is also continuing to see the influx of "lethal aid" from Iran. "We're still discovering Iranian-made weapons and munitions that are still inside of Iraq," he said. "Although it's a bit less, we're still discovering it."

Odierno also said the military in Iraq had detected a change in tactics by the Iranians operating inside Iraq. "We believe they are starting to train some of these special groups who have broken off from Jaish al-Mahdi once they've started to reconcile, and we believe they're forming ... organizations that they want to insert into Iraq for a long term potential to create instability."

Everyone get the game they are in ? It's not election to election here in the USA. They play a longer clock for high stakes.

Odierno said the Iranians are posing a threat to the stability of Iraq. "They, in my mind, are creating more instability in Iraq," he said.

Asked about the Iranian government role in the covert operations, Odierno said: "The Quds Force is the one that's running the operations here. People have differing opinions on what the relationship is with the government. But I would say the Quds Force is clearly involved in what's going on here in Iraq."

The general's comments followed a recent report by the Czech government that Iranian intelligence activities are increasing inside Iraq, as Tehran seeks to expand its influence and intelligence-gathering operations.

Iranian secret services are attempting to operate against coalition units in Afghanistan and Iraq, where Czech soldiers are also deployed, according to the 2007 annual report by the Czech military counter-intelligence (VZ) made public Sept. 29. The report said that "particularly in Iraq, a wide range of activities was registered, such as infiltration of persons active for the benefit of Iran in the Iraqi administration, the training of agents and insurgents, supplies of weapons, and penetration of Iranian agents to the coalition troop's bases."

Obama Campaign Accepting Anonymous Credit Card Donations?

Is this legal?

Credit card fraud is rampant in the Obama campaign, and it’s been verified.

In a nutshell: apparently, the Obama campaign disabled security checks that verify the name and address of a card-holder. So it’s possible to donate money using a real card, but a fake name and address.

Quite a few people have reported that they’ve tested the system and confirmed that this is happening. I’m a little skeptical, because I’m not aware of any online payment gateways that would allow a web site to disable security checks for name and address, but I’m not certain that it isn’t possible. Any LGF readers with experience in online payment systems are invited to chime in.

UPDATE at 10/23/08 12:45:23 pm:

Ace has more: Obama Campaign Finance Fraud Gains Traction.

UPDATE at 10/23/08 12:46:01 pm:

And more at Powerline: Power Line - Who is John Galt?

UPDATE at 10/23/08 12:57:45 pm:

Several LGF readers have now confirmed that it is indeed possible to configure an online payment gateway to ignore names and addresses. Most businesses don’t do it, because they would forfeit the ability to dispute charge-backs — but that’s apparently not an issue to the Obama campaign.

We noted here and elsewhere the astonishing degree of fraud that has fueled Barack Obama's record fundraising. The ultimate instance of Obama-fraud was achieved by a reader of The Corner:

So I went to the Obama website this afternoon and clicked on the "Donate" button.

I used my real MasterCard number (but was not asked for the 3 digit security code).

Used the following information and it was accepted...

First name: Fake
Last Name: Donor
Address: 1 Dollar To Prove A Point
City: Fraudulent
State: AL
Zip / Post: 33333
Email Address: allmyinfoismadeup@mediabias.com
Phone Number: 2125551212
Employer: Mainstream Media
Occupation: Being in the Tank

And incredibly, my $5 donation was ACCEPTED!!!

I then went to the McCain site
and used the exact same information (and WAS asked for the 3 digit security code for my MasterCard). There, my contribution was rejected with the following message: "Your transaction was not approved for the following reason(s): Invalid data", and then: "We have found errors in the information that you have submitted. Please review the information below and try again."

I have screen shots and printouts of all of this as well.

Please tell me what I can do with this information? Is this a violation of FEC law by the Obama Campaign? How do we publicize this???

Everyone knows that Barack Obama has created the biggest money-machine of any politician in American history. But it is becoming increasingly evident that Obama's money-machine is largely fraudulent and therefore criminal.

One can imagine a world in which newspaper reporters think it's a serious matter when a Presidential candidate tries to buy an election with illegal and fraudulent contributions. That, of course, is not the world that we live in. Have you seen Sarah Palin's shoes?

Malaysia Bans Women from Wearing Men's Clothes and Lesbian Sexual Relations

THE TELEGRAPH: Malaysian women have been banned from "tom-boyism" and lesbian sexual relations in a fatwa from one of the country's top religious authorities.

According to the chairman of the National Fatwa Council, Abdul Shukor Husin, many young women admire the was [sic] men dress and behave, which is a denial of their femininity and a violation of human nature.

"It is unacceptable to see women who love the male lifestyle including dressing in the clothes men wear," he complained, adding, "(Masculine behaviour) becomes clearer when they start to have sex with someone of the same gender, that is woman and woman."

"In view of this," Dr Abdul explained, "the National Fatwa Council which met today have decided and taken the stand that such acts are forbidden and banned."

Male homosexuality - specifically sodomy - is illegal in Malaysia and punishable with up to twenty years in jail. Accusations of sodomy have twice been levelled against the opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim in what he says are politically motivated attempts to destroy him. >>> By Thomas Bell, South East Asia Correspondent | October 24, 2008
