Maldive Muslim implicated in the Islamic assault on Bombay

According to a Divehi language report by Niumatolla Idris in the Maldives’ biggest newspaper Haveeru, there is a Maldive connection to the recent Islamic assault on the Indian city of Mumbai.

A senior Lashkar-e-Toiba operative, Faisal Haroun attempted to smuggle arms into India with the help of Malé-based Maldive citizen Ali al-Shaam, the report added. Haveeru does not make it clear if Ali al-Shaam is a native Maldivian, a naturalised Islamic terrorist of foreign birth or simply someone given a Maldive passport of convenience. Despite its claim to being a one hundred percent Muslim country, the Maldives has so far avoided being identified with other Islamic terror-sponsoring countries. For that reason, Maldive passport holders do not face terrorism profiling when visiting non-Islamic countries.

It was also reported that al-Shaam collaborated with Haroun on acquiring an arms storage facility on an uninhabited island in the Maldive archipelago. There are close to a thousand such islands with easy boat access to major Indian ports. The Maldives’ closest neighbours are India in the north and the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) in the south. Diego Garcia, the site of a top secret United States military facility is in BIOT.

A Maldive national, Ibrahim Fauzi, was one of the Islamic terror suspects captured in Pakistan and detained in Guantanamo Bay.

Islamic terrorists have been infiltrating Maldive mosques, urban areas and villages since late 1978. They have managed to force nearly four in every ten Maldive women into the Islamic burugaa veil in a climate that averages at 30 degree Celsius heat and 95 percent humidity. Up until now Maldive women took pride in their patriotism and did not give in to the burugaa, which is seen as a foreign piece of apparel.

Currently there are some Maldive islands that are outside the administrative control of the Maldive authorities. The inhabitants of these islands have pledged allegiance to the cause of worldwide jihad instead of the Maldive republic. An armed standoff with government police on one of those islands, Himendhoo in Ari Atoll some months ago resulted in arrests but the offenders were let of lightly by the former Gayoom dictatorship, at the behest of brotherly Islamic countries.

During Ramadan 2007, Islamic terrorists detonated a bomb in a park in Malé outside the city’s main mosque. Although there were no casualties, it was aimed at killing non-Muslim tourists, some of whom were seriously injured. The bombing coincided with the anniversary of the Battle of Badr, one of Mohamed’s early assaults on the non-Muslims of his own tribe in Mecca. The main perpetrators of the bombing were allowed to flee the Maldives and those who were apprehended were let off lightly.

In August the Maldives ratified a new constitution which, the world is persuaded to believe, is democratic. Maldives international human rights commitments are not fully addressed in this constitution. It disenfranchised and denaturalised non-Muslim Maldivians for the first time. Not a single member of parliament cast a dissenting vote against that particular constitutional clause, including members of the currently ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). One of the first acts of the new MDP-led government that assumed office in November was to block web access to Christian web sites. According to a report by Ibrahim Mohamed in Minivan News, a Divehi language Christian web site www.sidahitun.com is the main target of this censorship.

ElBaradei leaps into action: Calls efforts against Iran a failure

Says the nuclear problem stems from AIDS

Yes, he really said that. You see, if you have AIDS, all you can think about is, "I gotsta get me some nukes."

Inept nuclear watchdog Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the feckless International Atomic Energy Association called international efforts to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons a failure in an interview published in Saturday's Los Angeles Times. But fear not, says ElBaradei, Iran won't attack Israel anyway.
"We haven't really moved one inch toward addressing the issues," said Mohamed ElBaradei, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA. "I think so far the policy has been a failure."

The 66-year-old Egyptian diplomat and 2005 Nobel Peace Prize laureate also urged world leaders to address broader unease about security, poverty and perceived injustice rather than zero in on narrow security concerns, such as nuclear weapons.

"Now, I am talking more and more about poverty, HIV/AIDS" and other matters, he told The Times this week during a rare one-on-one interview at the agency's headquarters in Vienna. The nuclear issue "is the tip of the iceberg."

Still, atomic energy remains the focus of his U.N.-related agency and ElBaradei said he felt optimistic about an eventual U.S.-led settlement between Tehran and the West.

He said U.S. President-elect Barack Obama gave him "lots of hope" after he inserted a proposal to abolish all nuclear weapons in the Democratic Party platform and advocated opening diplomatic dialogue with rivals.

"He is ready to talk to his adversaries, enemies, if you like, including Iran, also [North] Korea," he said, adding that the Bush administration was reluctant to do so. "To continue to pound the table and say, 'I am not going to talk to you,' and act in a sort of a very condescending way -- that exaggerates problems."

Now think about this. El-Baradei says the efforts to stop Iran from building nuclear weapons are a failure.

That's his job. It's his job to make sure Iran is not building nuclear weapons. And, he admits the program is a failure.

That means he's a failure.

And, what does he do in response to his failure. He actually admits that he is "talking more about HIV/AIDS."

He admitted that.

It's not his job.

His job is to make sure Iran doesn't build nukes. His job has NOTHING to do with AIDS.

This man has not only publicly admitted he is a failure at his job, but he has also publicly admitted that his response to his recognition that he is a failure is not to figure out how to do his job better, but instead, to turn his attention to a different job that is not his to do.

Any reasonable employer would fire this man. Not the UN though. They'll probably see to it that he's up for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Gathering Storm Newsletter Banned by UK Government

As my readers know, I send out a free weekly newsletter entitled the Weekly Storm Report to hundreds of subscribers every week. I get occasional blocks on them and pretty much ignore them for the majority of them have no rhyme or reason to the blocking.

But this week, a subscriber's copy who used a gov.uk domain was blocked. And here's the reason that I received.

The London Borough of Barking & Dagenham does not allow e-mails through its mail gateway that may contain offensive words or phrases. You sent such an e-mail to (email address removed by me) on Sat, 6 Dec 2008 01:50:33 -0500 (EST) with the subject of The Gathering Storm Weekly Storm Report This message was not delivered to the recipient but has been quarantined by The London Borough of Barking & Dagenham MAILSweeper Service.

I wonder if it was this recent Winston Curchill Golden Balls Award that did it.

The Golden Balls Award goes each week to the most flagrant Appeaser or Apologist or those that outright lie that has done most to undermine our defense against Islamists. This weeks Golden Balls Award goes to:

Cannon Rob Morris

The home of the famous Saracen's Head, in Kings Norton Green, will become known as Saint Nicolas Place said its owners, at the nearby St Nicolas Church.

Angry letters fired off to the Mail said the church had no right to "wipe away 300 years of history" for fear of offending Muslims.

Ann Spooner, of Kings Norton, wrote: "To us it will always be the Saracen's Head."

The 18th-century former inn was originally built as a rich wool merchant's house in the 1400s and was given to the church in 1930. In 2004 it won £500,000 to help bring it back to its former glory in the BBC programme Restoration.

Cannon Rob Morris said the church consulted with its congregation of more than 300 and the Friends of Historic Kings Norton in reaching the controversial choice.

In 2004 the Birmingham Mail reported how the Very Rev Morris said the name was "offensive" to Muslims. But he said the reason behind the name-change was to stop people from mistaking the building - now a community centre and church office - for a pub.

Yeah - right.

Keith Carton, from Kings Norton, said: "When was the last time anyone can recall coach loads of lager louts turning up for a heavy session?"

Congratulations to the Re. Rob Morris! You can check in and claim your award at Camp Delta, Guantanamo Bay.

I guess alerting the Kaffirs to the weekly intimidation, infiltration, disinformation tactics of the Islamists and those appeasers and apologists that enable their agenda is a no-no in the UK

Never Again?

From the Jerusalem Post:

December 9 marks the 60th anniversary of the Genocide Convention, sometimes referred to as the "Never Again" Convention. Six decades have passed since this new era of genocide prevention was proclaimed in the wake of the Holocaust. On this oft-ignored anniversary, we must acknowledge our abysmal failure in preventing the most destructive threat known to humankind - the crime whose name we should even shudder to mention - genocide.

The enduring lesson of the Holocaust and that of the genocides that followed is that they occurred not simply because of the machinery of death, but because of the state-sanctioned incitement to hatred. As international tribunals have recognized and affirmed, the Holocaust did not begin in the gas chambers; it began with words. These are the chilling facts of history.

Most important, in all other cases of state-sanctioned incitement to genocide - the Holocaust, the Balkans, Rwanda and Darfur - the genocides have already occurred. Only in President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's Iran - the epicenter of such incitement - can we still act so as to prevent a genocide foretold from occurring.

For it is in Ahmadinejad's Iran where one finds the toxic convergence of the advocacy of the most horrific of crimes embedded in the most virulent of hatreds. It is dramatized by the parading in the streets of Teheran of a Shahab-3 missile draped in the words "Israel must be wiped off the map" and underpinned by the words of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei that "[t]here is only one solution to the Middle East problem, namely the annihilation and destruction of the Jewish state."

Moreover, Ahmadinejad's Iran has already resorted to incendiary and demonizing language, including epidemiological metaphors reminiscent of Nazi incitement. For example, President Ahmadinejad characterizes Israel as "filthy bacteria," "a stinking corpse" and "a cancerous tumor that needs to be excised," while referring to Jews as "evil incarnate," "blood-thirsty barbarians" and the "defilers of Islam" - the whole as prologue to, and justification for, a Mideast genocide, while at the same time denying the Nazi one.

Indeed, calls by the most senior figures in the Iranian leadership for the destruction of Israel are also frighteningly reminiscent of calls for the Rwandan extermination of Tutsis by the Hutu leadership. The crucial difference is that the Hutus were equipped with machetes, while Iran, in defiance of the world community, continues its pursuit of the most destructive of weaponry: nuclear arms. Alarmingly, Iran has already succeeded in developing a long-range missile delivery system for that purpose, the whole recalling former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani's open threat that "even one atomic bomb inside Israel will wipe it off the face of the earth."

The failure to stop past genocides, as in the unspeakable, preventable genocide of Rwanda, caused the then-UN secretary general Kofi Annan to lament in 2004 on the 10th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide: "We must never forget our collective failure to protect at least 800,000 defenseless men, women and children who perished in Rwanda 10 years ago.

"Such crimes cannot be reversed. Such failures cannot be repaired. The dead cannot be brought back to life. So, what can we do?"

AIG Defies U.S. Taxpayers by Promoting Sharia in America

From Jeffrey Imm:

For the third month in a row, AIG is in the news regarding its promotion of Sharia-compliant finance (SCF) products, which promote the Islamic supremacist, segregationist ideology of Sharia. For a company struggling with its financial survival, it remains astounding that AIG would want to incite its American taxpayer owners by promoting products that are based on an Islamic supremacist political ideology. In October 2008, I wrote how the U.S. government gave an $85 billion loan to AIG, without demanding divestment of its business ventures reselling Sharia mutual trusts and its AIG Takaful division selling Sharia-based insurance. In November 2008, I wrote about how the U.S. government purchased $40 billion in AIG stock, making you as a taxpayer, an owner of a company promoting Sharia through such businesses.
For two months, I have warned that AIG's Takaful division was planning to expand to offer such AIG-specific Sharia products here in the United States. Now AIG has announced that it has Sharia-based insurance products for the United States, and AIG is promoting them.

On December 1, 2008, AIG announced that it was "introducing a Takaful Homeowners Policy, the first installment in Lexington Takaful Solutions, a series of Shari'ah-compliant (Takaful) product offerings in the U.S. The newly announced Takaful products are compliant with key Islamic finance tenets and based on the concept of mutual insurance." Note that AIG indicates that such Sharia insurance products are the "first installment" in a series of Sharia products. In the AIG press release, AIG Takaful's Abdallah Kubursi expresses his pride in AIG's ability to promote Sharia within the United States, stating "This is truly a global effort on the part of AIG."

This is our company, using our taxpayer dollars, to promote Islamic supremacist Sharia-based products in our country. As we are $40 billion owners in AIG, this is our problem as Americans. What is our government and AIG going to do about this?

First, let's remember what Sharia is and is not.

Sharia is a legal codification of the political ideology of Islamic supremacism. This Sharia legal codification is intended to enforce discriminatory and segregationist practices against women and non-Muslims and to suppress the liberties of those living in Islamic theocracies. As a legal codification of a supremacist ideology, Sharia is incompatible with democratic values and the inalienable human right that "all men are created equal." In 2001, nearly two months before the 9/11 attacks, the European Court of Human Rights determined that Sharia law was incompatible with democracy and human rights. The President of the European Court of Human Rights stated that "the Court found that sharia was incompatible with the fundamental principles of democracy as set forth in the Convention... Principles such as pluralism in the political sphere or the constant evolution of public freedoms have no place in it. According to the Court, it was difficult to declare one's respect for democracy and human rights while at the same time supporting a regime based on sharia...". Even British courts have ruled that Sharia is "discriminatory."

In a nation such as the United States, based on the inalienable human rights of equality and liberty, why would American taxpayers seek to fund a business selling products that promote a discriminatory, segregationist, and supremacist ideology that is "incompatible with democracy and human rights"?

Sharia is not merely "cultural beliefs," "religious beliefs," or "social preference." In the AIG press release, AIG's Abdallah Kubursi would have Americans believe that the goal of promoting such Sharia products is to expand "social preference." But America has rejected those who would label supremacist values as "social preference," just as they rejected white supremacists who once called for racial segregation and discrimination. America's society, businesses, government, and law rejects supremacist ideologies. Just ask President-Elect Barack Obama.

This is the same Sharia ideology that has been used by the Islamic supremacist Taliban tomurder those who they believe have committed moral crimes, the same Sharia ideology that was used to murder a 13 year old girl last month who was raped in Somalia, and the same Sharia ideology supported by the TalibanAl Qaeda, and Islamic supremacists around the world. It is the same Sharia ideology whose zakat charities have been used to fund jihadist terrorist organizations. On September 18, 2008, Congressman Tom Tancredo's office introduced "Jihad Prevention Act" (H.R. 6975). According to the press release from his office on this bill, "the legislation would make the advocacy of Sharia law by radical Muslims already in the United States a deportable offense."

But now American taxpayer dollars are being used to promote products based on Sharia?

WHEN I TALK to people about Islam's relentless encroachment and the goals and methods of jihad, the first thing they usually say is, "What can we do about it?" Usually this is not said with hopelessness, but with a sense of urgency. If it is the first time they've heard anything about this, they have a kind of panicked look in their eye, and the question comes out as a kind of desperate plead: What can we do?!

This is an entirely appropriate response. I now consider this an indication that someone has really understands the situation. I often get that response after a person has seen Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West. They get it. And the clearest sign they get it is the earnest question, "What can we do about it?"

I have written an ever-growing article — What Can a Civilian Do to Stop Islam's Relentless Encroachment? — to answer just this question. And I've dedicated a domain name just for that page.

The domain name is:

This is now a resource we can all use.

When you're telling someone about jihad, about taqiyya, about the incessant push for concessions, about the passages in the Qur'an that support these things, and then they ask you what can be done about it, you can say, "Go to WhatYouCanDoAboutIslam.com."

You can make a sticker with that domain name on it and stick it to your copies of Obsession when you loan them out. You can print the domain name on a business card and hand it to people when they ask you that question. You can share the domain name on your web site or blog.

Part of the reason people don't like hearing about jihad is they don't know what they can do about it — it's a little too much to confront if nothing can be done. And that's something to keep in mind when you're telling people about this stuff. Always present it in a way that makes it clear we can do something about it.

To give you an idea of the difference between feeling you can do something and feeling you can't, imagine you are told you have terminal cancer, you're going to die, and there's nothing you can do about it. You have a kind of cancer that has no treatment.

Now imagine you're told you have cancer, but if you go through something difficult (like fasting or chemotherapy), it will very likely cure you.

There's a huge difference in how you would take news about cancer, isn't there? The emotional impact would be totally different. The news that you have cancer is much more tolerable the second way. Why?
Only because you can do something about it.

After hearing about the third jihad, people are motivated or at least frightened, and that's a perfect time to give them something practical they can do about it. Tell them they must visit WhatYouCanDoAboutIslam.com.

I am going to keep comments open on that page, so when you come across new things that can be done, please add them. And as I come across new things, I'll add them to the list too. Let's have a single page with a simple and easy-to-remember domain name that we can direct people to.

We need more people to realize there are practical things they can do about jihad, and we need more people taking action. WhatYouCanDoAboutIslam.com can help fulfill this need. Let's use it.

Balls: Iran Wants Dialogue With Europe On Human Rights Issues

From Press TV:

An Iranian official has called for open dialog between Tehran and Europe directed at the promotion of human rights and freedoms.

In a Wednesday meeting with French Human Rights Minister Rama Yade, Secretary of the Human Rights Headquarters of Iran's Judiciary Mohammad-Javad Larijani said Tehran is critical of human rights abuse and suggested that talks be held on the issue.

Washington and its Western allies accuse Iran and several other Muslim states of violating human rights, particularly issues concerning women.

At the UN General Assembly session in late November, Canadian Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon lobbied for an anti-Iran resolution with the reasoning that Iran does not respect human rights.

In an exclusive Press TV interview last week, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi responded to the Canadian contentions.

"No country in the world can claim to have a perfect record of human rights or no violations of human rights," said Qashqavi, adding that human rights is sacred only when it is not used as a "political tool against some countries".

Our Islamic values require us to respect human rights and we thus believe the situation should improve, Qashqavi continued.

The Islamic Republic has also voiced disapproval over the violation of the rights of religious minorities, especially Muslims, in France and several European countries and condemns US-sanctioned crime in the Middle East.

Iran says Canada has itself amassed a substantial file of human rights violations of its nationals and religious minorities.

Stuff White People Like: Political Prisoners

White people love political prisoners because they are individuals who have been locked up because their beliefs or their presence stands in defiance of an unjust system. In fact, most white people would love to be locked up for their beliefs provided that they could go to a jail with private toilets, plenty of books and no rape.

Instead, white people are forced to turn those dreams of oppression into something more productive.  Specifically the belief that one day their law degree, graphic design skill, or ability to attend a concert can be used to free a political prisoner.

If you happen to be this individual, then you have no further work to do.  White people already like you and will provide for you financially in the form of book deals, commencement addresses, and documentaries.  But do not assume that these are the only people who can benefit from their time in jail.

Political prisoners make excellent choices whenever a white person asks you to name a personal hero.  If they drop an answer like “Kurt Cobain” or “Toni Morrison” you can easily trump them by offering up a name like Mumia Abu Jamal or Nelson Mandela which will show white people that you are smart, well informed, and political.  Or that you own at least one Rage Against the Machine CD.

But what if you pick the wrong political prisoner?  Impossible.  This is because political prisoners do not exist until a famous white person has drawn attention to them. Until that point, any person who has been locked up for their beliefs is just a regular prisoner and subsequently not worthy of graffiti stencils.

Conversely, if you ever find yourself needing to end a friendship with a white person you can simply say something like “well, he’s a criminal he belongs in jail. I don’t care what the Beastie Boys have to say about it.”

A reminder from this blog, Sept 2007 -"The Destruction of Its Economy Will Cause the U.S. to... Disappear Like the Soviet Union"

Where is my fuel cell car, you morons?

FROM MEMRI:'The Battle... Is Economic Rather than Military' - An Economically Oriented Concept of Jihad Emerges in Islamist Discourse

By: E. Alshech

The concept of jihad, dating back to the earliest stages of Islam, has always been open to various interpretations. Since Islamic sources define jihad in very broad terms, Muslims have, throughout Islamic history, been able to transform and extend its meaning according to their specific perceptions and needs. This document focuses campaion a concept of jihad that has been emerging for some time in Islamist discourse, as is evident in Islamist forums and websites. In this permutation, jihad is perceived as being aimed primarily at undermining the Western economy, particularly the U.S. economy, with the ultimate goal of bringing about the total collapse of the West. [1] In practical terms, this concept of jihad does not pose an immediate and substantial danger to Western economy. However, it nonetheless merits attention, since it represents a broadening of the boundaries of jihad, and widens the circle of people who can potentially be involved in jihadist activity.

"The Destruction of Its Economy Will Cause the U.S. to... Disappear Like the Soviet Union"

Islamist websites rarely engage in comprehensive theoretical discussions about the overall goals of global jihad. However, postings on this topic that occasionally appear on Islamist forums provide crucial insight into the Islamists' understanding of their struggle against the West. For example, an article posted on www.alhesbah.org in 2003, by an individual named Abu Mus'ab, stated that the key to defeating the U.S. is to weaken its economy: "No reasonable person can deny the United States' military, economic and technological power... [However, both the U.S.'s] technological research and its military forces depend on the economy. [Consequently,] the destruction of its economy will cause the U.S. to disintegrate, collapse, and disappear, just like the Soviet Union. [2] Therefore, studying America's economy is [even more crucial] than examining its military forces..." [3]

The Popular Plan : 1934 redux -Gulf states weigh appeasing Iran with security pact as U.S. withdraws

ABU DHABI -- The Persian Gulf states are examining the feasibility of a security agreement with Iran in an effort to reduce regional tension.
The Iranians have been offering this

Gulf Cooperation Council sources said several countries, including Saudi Arabia, have dropped their objection to a strategic accord with Teheran meant to end the arms race and begin security cooperation.

The sources said GCC states have become concerned over the withdrawal of the United States from the region as well as the steady decline in crude oil prices, the source of major weapons programs.

"In the current scenario, we call for working out a mechanism for drafting a security pact that would help the region avert a conflict or arms race that has the potential to spill over into the entire region, thus endangering the ongoing development march of the GCC states," Saudi Prince Talal Bin Abdul Aziz, a senior member of the royal family, said.

In a statement, Talal, president of the Arab Gulf Programme for United Nations Development Organisations, said the GCC agreement would focus on non-aggression as well as cooperation in all fields. The Saudi prince said the GCC must pledge that members would prevent any attack against Iran.

"First, a provision that makes it binding on all GCC states never to allow their land or water territories, and air spaces to be used for any aggression against Iran," Talal said.

The statement said Iran's nuclear program has alarmed GCC states. But Talal did not go beyond the call that Teheran must submit to United Nations Security Council resolutions to end uranium enrichment.

"The Gulf region should be free from a catastrophic conflict and arms race at the expense of huge prospects for development and progress," Talal said. "Second, regional and international guarantees must be in place to restrict use of nuclear energy only for peaceful purposes. There should also be a criterion for enrichment of uranium and guaranteeing observance of it under all circumstances."

GCC sources said Talal's call reflected that of Saudi Arabia and most member states. The sources said oil-rich Gulf Arab states were bracing for huge deficits in 2009 amid the sharp decline in prices.

"Nobody in the GCC wants an arms race that we cannot possibly win," a GCC diplomatic source said. "Iran gains a lot more from [regional] instability than we do."

Talal said Iran and the GCC states should be prepared to submit to international arms inspections. He said the two sides should also establish hotlines to defuse tension and emergencies.

"There should be guarantees and confidence-building measures between both sides under which they can agree to reliable international monitoring of their military arsenals," Talal said. "A mechanism for immediate joint consultancy in case of any security incident should also be in place."

Rice Getting a Snootful of Reality

DEBKAfile's military sources report that in their talks in New Delhi and Islamabad Wednesday, Dec. 3, US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice and top US soldier, Adm. Mike Mullen, failed to tamp down the rising military tensions between India and Pakistan. Their talks were clouded by the threat of a second round of terror, this one directed against three Indian international airports, Delhi Bangalore and Chennai, by infiltrators of Pakistani or Afghan origin. Last week, Lashkar e-Taiba Islamists held Mumbai to siege for three days and killed more than 170 people. The Indian investigation points to two Lashkar leaders, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi and Yusuf Muzammil, as masterminds of that outrage.

The intelligence of a second round of attacks which may include the hijacking of aircraft at the three targeted airports, was handed to prime minister Manmohan Singh Wednesday, Dec. 3, by the Indian spy agency RAW. Special forces backed by armored vehicles and explosives detecting devices including sniffer dogs were posted at those airports.

According to our counter-terror sources, Indian intelligence has been warned of a third round of attacks scheduled for the coming festival season against resorts like Goa and Puna which are frequented by foreign tourists and trekkers. Once again, Americans, Britons and Israelis will be singled out.

When Condoleezza Rice urged Indian officials to exercise military restraint against Pakistan they showed her this intelligence. Since Islamabad did not rein in the terrorists who cross the border at will, India had no choice, they said, but to send its army across to hit them in their Pakistani lairs.

Rice then traveled to Islamabad for a last-ditch appeal for urgent Pakistani "cooperation" by rounding up the suspects behind the Mumbai atrocity. But the new president Asif Zardari lacks the clout to deliver.

Security measures have also been tightened across India for the Dec. 6 anniversary of the destruction of the medieval Ayodhya mosque in 1992.

The Crown Prince of Collectivism

Guest Commentary by Edward Cline:

As one pundit observed, there is no such government position as “The Office of the President-Elect.” Yet, it is a measure of Barack Obama’s hubris (and vanity) that for a time he held press conferences whose locus was a lectern bearing the splayed federal eagle encircled by the fictive and powerless title, a knock-off of the Presidential Seal. The title is as phony as a three-dollar bill. Or, for that matter, as a dollar bill, since the dollar bill is just a piece of paper declared to be the sole legal tender of the land, backed by nothing but the fictive “credit“ of the U.S. government, which is currently on a spending spree.

There was a time when one could tender a federal “pay to bearer on demand” note or certificate of any denomination in any bank and receive gold or silver specie in return. What passes for currency now is just glorified scrip and clad zinc.

Apparently, Obama’s staff may have read on the Internet some dissatisfaction with the sign among his supporters, and also some mockery from his opponents, and recommended a more modest form of hubris. Gone now is the whole bogus seal of office, and the title appears on a sign without embellishment. I have heard no reports of any journalist at one of these press conferences questioning the employment of the fictive title. Doubtless the person who dared challenge Obama on the counterfeit seal of office or the title would be banished from further news conferences.

Obama’s hubris is also a measure of the sanction granted him by large sections of the electorate and of the news media, a sanction he is very much aware of and is exploiting. It has given him leave to behave like a royal heir presumptive preparing for his imminent succession to the throne, conditioning himself to govern his subjects, many of whom want to be conditioned, governed, led, and told what to do and why. It is a servility he is also very much aware of and has not hesitated to exploit, as well.

Watching the press question Obama, one has the sense that journalists are not so much seeking clarification on policy or even so much as a fact, as asking for orders about what to think and say. And the president-elect is not shy about giving them. The press and news media have replaced a search for truth with a yearning for belief, even if it is suspected that the truth is buried beneath a mountain of lies and well-cultivated deceptions about the man, about his ideas, about his character, about his intentions.

In modern journalism, truth is a regrettable option, to be leavened with artful palaver. One can only despise a press that reports half-lies as the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Claude Rains, as the diplomat Dryden in Lawrence of Arabia, remarked about men who repress the truth: “…A man who tells half-lies has forgotten where he put it.”

Obama’s proposed economic agenda, which will include a socialist or Marxist “redistribution” plan under a more palatable name, is as transparently specious as the notion of “Intelligent Design.” (Were dinosaurs an instance of Unintelligent Design? Was their creator not as omniscient as has always been credited? Or were they an instance of divine planned obsolescence? There’s food for thought for creationists.) It is not any more intelligently designed than George W. Bush’s or Henry Paulson’s. Obama’s publicists, who now include most of the news media, are doing their best to assure the country that he is not a left-wing radical ready to seize the property and wealth of the rich and the upper middle class, but a “centrist” ready to compromise and “reach across the aisle” to find better bipartisan ways to salvage the economy and incidentally to ensure “social justice.”

Perhaps the most telling and honest appraisal of Obama’s present actions and intentions was voiced by Michael Gerson, writing for The Washington Post on December 3, in his column “Closet Centrist”:

…Obama’s appointments reveal something important about current Bush policies. Though Obama’s campaign savaged the administration as incompetent and radical,
Obama’s personnel decisions have effectively ratified Bush’s defense and economic approaches during the past few years. At the Pentagon, Obama rehired the architects of President Bush’s current military strategy -- [Robert] Gates, Gen. David Petraeus and Gen. Raymond Odierno. At the Treasury Department, Obama has rehired one of the main architects of Bush’s current economic approach [Timothy Geithner].

This continuity does not make Obama an ideological traitor. It indicates that Bush has been pursuing centrist, bipartisan policies -- without getting much bipartisan support. The transition between Bush and Obama is smoother than some expected, not merely because Obama has moderate instincts but because Bush does as well. Particularly on the economy, Bush has never been a libertarian; he has always matched a commitment to free markets with a willingness to intervene when markets stumble.

That is the most perceptive admission to date to be found in the liberal press on the absence of any fundamental difference between Republican and Democratic economic policies. But Gerson did not mention Obama’s nomination of Lawrence Summers, former Treasury secretary under Bill Clinton and former president of Harvard University, to be head of the National Economic Council. He is regarded as some kind of economic wizard and troubleshooter.

David Leonhardt of The New York Times, however, let the cat out of the bag in his article of November 26, “The Return of Larry Summers”:

His favorite argument today…goes like this: To undo the rise in income inequality since the late ‘70s, every household in the top 1 percent of the distribution, which makes $1.7 million on average, would need to write a check for $800,000. This money could then be pooled and used to send out a $10,000 check to every household in the bottom 80 percent of the distribution, those making less than $120,000. Only then would the country be as economically equal as it was three decades ago.

One cannot get more socialistic than that. Never mind, says Summers, the rewards of wise investments by private individuals -- that has nothing to do with “social justice” -- never mind the capital represented by the multiple $800,000 checks that would not be ploughed back into the economy as investments in productive enterprises, never mind cause and effect, never mind the rights of the rich: all the “little guys” must be awarded their fair share of the economic pie, and if that hurts the rich and reduces them and everyone else to penury, too bad. We will have social and economic justice even if it penalizes everyone, but especially the rich, and on that foundation of theft and misery we will build a more equitable society.

No one should doubt that Obama shares with Summers his collectivist fantasy land, nor that he regards Summers’ redistribution idea as just an ideological day-dream. There will be no reality-checking Austrian or laissez-faire economists in an Obama administration, just as there were none in George W. Bush’s.

“It’s not that I want to punish your success,” Obama told the Plumber Joes of the nation. “I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a good chance for success too. My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody….I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

For a while, perhaps, up until the time the money is spent, goods become scarce, the capital is consumed. Only blame will be in plentiful supply, and it will be directed at everything and everyone but the chief culprit: the government.

Obama’s presumptuousness is in sync with the giddy, arrogant sanctimony too evident now in the political aristocracy. Witness the malicious glee, for example, with which politicians are subjecting cringing auto executives to egalitarian-premised interrogations, executives who are guilty of asking for their own “bailout,” not to mention of submitting themselves to the interrogation. (Do not expect them to emulate William H. Vanderbilt, the railroad tycoon, and reply to their interrogators and the press, “The public be damned!“) If you ever wanted a concrete picture of Ayn Rand’s “drooling beast” (The Fountainhead) look to the Senate and House, particularly at Henry Waxman, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi, and pick your villain. There is no reasoning with them, their power-lust is gracelessly shameless, and they mean to deliver the final death blows to what remains of freedom in this country.

Do not count on Obama undergoing, at some future date, when his agenda self-destructs, an eye-opening epiphany concerning the catastrophic consequences of his economic and social policies, which will simply punctuate the cumulative economic and social policies of the past, including Republican ones. If he is true to his model of FDR, with whom the press and news media are comparing him, he will not acknowledge the wrongness of his policies. After all, FDR never apologized for prolonging the Great Depression.

Do not grant Obama the meanest shadow of a doubt. Should things not go right, when reality catches up with his policies and those of his predecessors in office, he and his advisors will simply blame America for not being statist enough and Americans for being too selfish. They will blame all those Americans who will have exercised their modicum of volition and liberty and acted in the name of self-preservation and upset their calculations and plans. His cabinet and advisors are largely composed of persons who hate America -- that is, America the land of the free -- all of whom will want to force everyone to tow the line of statism.

Barack Obama claims that he does not mind disagreement, but has also said that as president-elect and as president, he will ultimately make policy, regardless of the rationality of any disagreement.

He will be Head of State, and he will give orders. Make way for the King.

Organization of Islamic Conference Press Release

OIC: Islam, the religion of peace, tolerance and compassion

With the multiplicity of terrorist attacks perpetrated recently by deviant and fanatic individuals, the General Secretariat of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has noticed a tendency of a section of the media, to interpose the word "Islam" in reporting these incidences.

Islam, the religion of peace, tolerance and compassion, that sanctifies the human soul, and whose universal message is one of mutual peaceful coexistence among all the peoples of the world, regardless of their ethnicities, race, religions or languages, and which calls for kind reasoning and dialogue with all their fellow human beings, abhors and despises all such criminal acts and had enacted the utmost severe punishment for their perpetrators.

It is frustrating to see some circles, still, maliciously trying to establish conceptual link between such evil and wicked practices and Islam, the religion that condemns, scorns and outlaws them.

It is on the premise of this irrefutable fact that we, in the OIC, call upon all well-intentioned peoples of the world, not to give to these criminals any right to present Islam, a right that Islam itself denies them. Those who refer to the perpetrators, as acting on behalf of Islam, help them by offering them justification, anchor and premise that they don't have or deserve. On the other hand, the generalization of the guilt of a few aberrant misguided individuals, to engulf the adherents of a religion of 1.5 billion followers is an outrageous judgment and amounts to an illegal collective punishment on a global scale. Moreover, any attempt to implicate all Muslims in such a wicked and wanton acts goes contrary to the well established principles of international law.

It is therefore hoped that media will avoid resorting to any reference to Islam when narrating such events in order not to disseminate erroneous information that might jeopardize the basic human rights of Muslims, the world over.

Somali men missing all over the world! Training are they?

From Refugee Resettlement Watch:

We reported to you last week that as many as 40 Somali young men are missing from the Minneapolis area and are believed to have gone to terrorist training camps either in Somalia or elsewhere to supposedly prepare to fight in the civil war in their homeland.

Keep in mind these American men came here originally as refugee boys who we have fed, educated, housed and kept healthy, for what?   To blow themselves (and innocent people) to bits like their buddy Ahmed did recently?

Now, comes a story from FOX today (Hat tip:  Blulitespecial) that Somali young men have turned up missing in other western countries as well as Australia.   And, look who knows all about it—Omar Jamal, who else.  He has got a pulse on the whole world!

I’ve come across 10 to 15 mothers crying because their sons are missing,” said Omar Jamal, executive director of the Minneapolis-based Somali Justice Advocacy Center.

A senior U.S. military intelligence analyst said the number may be even higher, since not all of the families whose sons have gone abroad will report it.

Jamal said the Somali community has seen young men disappear in a number of countries across the world, including Canada, the Netherlands and Australia. Multiple sources within the Somali community have corroborated this account.

You know what strikes me as really telling about Mr. Jamal’s statement?   Wouldn’t you think this was such a big deal that if crying mothers were coming to you about their missing sons you might remember exactly who they were and know how many it was—10 women, 11 women, or whatever number?   When he says 10-15 “crying mothers” it strikes me as a fabrication.  Jamal fabricated his way into the US, so what else is new?

Back to the story.

Intelligence sources confirm that men are missing and not just in Europe and Australia.

A senior American intelligence source confirms that Somalis have vanished in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia, adding that some people from the Caribbean also appear to have left for Somalia. And not all of the people bound for training or jihad in Somalia have a Somali background, the source said.

A man who appears to be Caucasian and is aligned with the Somalia-based terrorist group Shabaab can be seen in a recent jihadist video, and another gave an interview with al-Jazeera (though he wore a facemask when doing so). The source said that at least three African-Americans from the Minneapolis area also are suspected of traveling to Somalia to join jihadist groups.

Shabaab is the Muslim terrorist group we mentioned the other day, the one which wants to send us to hell.

So, if you are thinking, just let them go off and kill themselves in Somalia, that is well and good unless they plan to return as this article contemplates.

The size of the recruiting network in the U.S. isn’t known, and estimates vary widely. But a major concern is what will happen when these young men return to the U.S. after having undergone terrorist training or participated in combat.

Certainly the Department of Homeland Security, the TSA, knows if these men left the country and will be able to stop them when they return.  But, I worry about something else, what if they never left?

Somali suicide bomber given decent burial in Minnesota

Posted by acorcoran on December 4, 2008

Update:  Somali men missing all over the world tonight.

You gotta be kidding!   This guy, 27 years old, blows himself to bits and takes along 29 other people (I bet there were women and kids among those killed) and our FBI scoops up the body parts and brings them to Minnesota for a funeral.  I wonder what that cost the US taxpayer?   Have we gone completely around the bend?

And then, would reporters find someone other than Omar Jamal to speak for the Somalis.   Jamal was found guilty in 2003 of immigration fraud and ordered deported.   Hat tip:  Blulitespecial.

Family and friends did not wish to talk about the circumstances of his death.

Community activist Omar Jamal is one of the few who will.

“Honestly I look at him seriously as a victim and not as a criminal, I think of him as a young victim,” says Jamal.

A victim?  The killer was a victim?  He was 27 years old, not 17.  Jamal, that doesn’t make him a ”kid!”  If the killer is the victim,  what does that make the 29 people he murdered?   Aren’t they the real victims?

Nobody made this 27-year-old American citizen go to Somalia.  This is just infuriating.   Stop all Muslim immigration to the US or we will be seeing more decent burials for American suicide bombers.

See the story and especially the video of the funeral here.

Here is our original report on this evil, cold-blooded Muslim killer, Ahmed.  More on Jamal here.

America Not In Decline

From The American:

Demographic and economic trends suggest that the age of American dominance won’t end anytime soon.

Barack Obama and the next Congress will take power at a time when the financial crisis and Mesopotamian misadventures have spurred talk of America’s decline. Last week, a Russian analyst was even giddily forecasting the collapse and breakup of the United States, with Russia and China becoming joint global hegemons. Such predictions may comfort critics and opponents of American power, but they lack any real basis. In fact, long-term demographic and economic trends suggest that the age of American dominance won’t end anytime soon.

In Futurecast (St. Martin’s Press, $26.95), economist Robert Shapiro, a founder of the Progressive Policy Institute and now chairman of the consulting firm Sonecon, examines how the relentless forces of demographics and globalization will shape the world of 2020. His analysis suggests that the United States will remain the leading global power. Europe, Japan, and China, meanwhile, have reason to worry.

Demographic trends will have seismic effects on the world’s economies and may even spur domestic conflicts over dwindling resources. Indeed, Shapiro cautions that much of the world is about to confront “the greatest aging of national populations ever seen, along with the smallest relative numbers of working-age people on record.”

In Europe and Japan, where labor forces are already shrinking, fewer workers will have to pay more taxes to support the growing pensioner population, triggering a vicious economic cycle. Workers will have less money to save. That will mean less investment, which will translate into slower productivity growth and sluggish income progress, making it ever harder for the fewer workers to support the pensions of more seniors.

China will face similar challenges. Thanks to its notorious one-child policy, it has the world’s most rapidly aging population: between 2005 and 2020, the number of Chinese aged 65 and over will grow by 65 percent. China does not offer much government support for its elderly, which may lead to unrest, particularly among seniors living in urban centers such as Beijing and Shanghai.

The United States faces a more encouraging demographic future. To be sure, it will need to make adjustments and reform its entitlement programs. But America has maintained higher fertility rates than the countries of Europe and Japan, and its population has been rejuvenated by two generations of high immigration.

Between 2008 and 2020, globalization will continue spreading prosperity around the world, expanding consumer choice, and intensifying competition throughout domestic markets. Over the past 30 years, trade and investment between countries has expanded twice as fast as the total growth and investment of all individual countries. Developing countries are now able to attract the capital to build modern factories and businesses.

Globalization will also transform services, which represent two-thirds of advanced economies. It is a sign of the times that even lawyers may lose their jobs to outsourcing, with Indian firms such as Pangea3 providing basic legal research and drafting services at (what Pangea3 calls) “a radically low cost.”

In all likelihood, the United States will continue doing well in the white heat of international competition, while the highly regulated economies of continental Europe and Japan will stumble. Barring a departure from open markets, the vast and flexible U.S. economy will remain a magnet for investment that funds innovation, which will ensure that U.S. workers remain among the most productive and highly paid in the world.

As I've been saying, because America is free, we are creative. Because we are creative, we will remain an economic force. Money follows ideas, not commodities. Commodities prices are fixed and only change due to fluctuations in their availability, or due to new ideas on how to use the commodities.

America, with it's seemingly endless creativity, is finding new ways to take advantage of the commodity of labor, and a host of other commodities, which are provided by Globalization.

Additionally, all developing nations will have to outfit themselves with the communications and technological infrastructures to support their entry into the Global Economy. Where will they turn for such infrastructure but America?
