Well, I feel better. No WAY I ever, ever, ever could have guessed that one. . .

So fun, though. Honestly, I was looking forward to that all day.

It was such a weird vibe at the tea party. My hubby showed up just as I was leaving, and he sensed it too. So these posts have been a really nice respite.

Thx,

Ro

Never would have guessed Allman Brothers, with a name like Midnight Rider? :>)

That was fun distraction, Ro.

Just put a bunch of Tea Party Pics up. Did you have a good crowd? Weird vibe how? Tense? Serious frustration in the air?

I guess I thought of your "handle" as more "reveresque".

I don't think about rock and roll much anymore. But I do hope you don't let them catch you!

That's why this was so much fun.

As for the Party - There was a very small crowd, which wasn't awful, but there were a number several people circulating in the crowd, obviously not press, taking pictures of people. Lots. They were very conspicuous and stone-faced. They had great cameras. Weird.

Then there was this other guy, walking around with a computer and a backpack, looking like he knew where he was going, but who just walked around in the crowd, looking agitated.

The main speaker, while I was there, was a black preacher, who was quite good, but it seemed kinda exclusionary to me. (I am a Christian, but if I were an atheist, I still would believe human beings have inalienable rights, for instance).

He talked about abolishing the income tax - great idea, I think. But golly, there seem to be more pressing concerns today - like keeping our rights to speech, arms, raise our children as we see fit and a sharia-less existence.

But that's just me.

He did talk about getting more blacks and Hispanics into the conservative movement, and how to do that.

I dunno - it wasn't as "happy warrior" as I would have hoped from the other protest pics that Atlas has posted, for instance. I shoulda brought a cool camera - I could have taken pics of the pic takers!

And, I know I am pretty gloomy sometimes, but the fact that the event got so much attention from the "intimidators" and none from the local media (at least for the time I was there) just seemed sinister to me.

Oh well. You do what you can and let God take care of stuff you can't control.

I need to see Defiance, I think!

Semper fi. (I am not a marine, but it seemed apt.)

I think for something that was thrown together over 10 days or so since Santelli first started the ball rolling it wasn't such a bad start. Nearest one to me was 50 miles off in Philly & I couldn't get that much time off work. Maybe next one.

These kinds of things are going to draw the kooks (guy w/ backpack) as well as the serious folks. Just gotta watch and hope they don't put a bad taint to this. As for the guys with cameras they may have been paparazzi types, really curious types or just there to try to intimidate or provoke. Like I said this kind of thing will draw all kinds.

Really hope they keep this thing going maybe get some of the pols to wake up. At least we know the White House already took notice last week when Gibbs swatted at it.

This may be one of those things where the blogs have to take it up and run until the media starts to take notice and report (this could take some time).

By all means you should see Defiance. Very good movie.

I don't think you're particularly gloomy, at least not from the conversations we've had. Just a realist about what we face like all of us.

And yeah, that's why I chose the name, a blogger on the lamm, trying to stay one step ahead of those who would shut him/us down :>)

Hopefully another good tune tomorrow night.

(um, is it now RRRRRo RRRRRRo?)

(sorry for the late response. I tried earlier but my Internet was all jazsed up)
