Taliban control of Pakistan

From the Long War Journal

Taliban moving on Mardan
By Bill Roggio April 17, 2009 1:46 AM

The Taliban continue their advance in northwestern Pakistan. The district of Mardan in the Northwest Frontier Province may be the next region to fall to the Taliban as the terror group has stepped up its attacks in the area.

The Taliban murdered two women in Mardan yesterday, signaling the district is marked for takeover. A female aid worker for the non-governmental organization National Rural Support Program was killed in a bombing at her office. A local Taliban commander named Habibur Rehman claimed credit for the attack. "He accused NGOs of propagating obscenity and vulgarity and threatened further attacks," Dawn reported. The Taliban also gunned down a female councilor for a local union.

The murders were the latest in a series of attacks in Mardan that signal the Taliban is setting its sights on the district.

Since early March, in Mardan the Taliban have bombed two girls' schools, dozens of CD and video shops, and an electrical tower. The Taliban have forced the closure of more than a hundred CD shops after issuing threatening night letters and ordered barbers to stop shaving men's beards. The Taliban conducts attacks like these to intimidate the local population while setting the precedent for the establishment and enforcement of its brutal version of sharia, or Islamic law.

Attacks such as these preceded the Taliban takeover of Tank, Bannu, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Swat, Shangla, Arakzai, and Bajaur.

It won't be long till they have the country and the nukes.

Hezbollah's Mushroom Cloud

From Michael Totten:

Christopher Hitchens recently went to a rally in the suburbs south of Beirut and found Hezbollah ratcheting up its belligerence. “A huge poster of a nuclear mushroom cloudsurmounts the scene,” he wrote in the May issue of Vanity Fair, “with the inscription OH ZIONISTS, IF YOU WANT THIS TYPE OF WAR THEN SO BE IT!” Last week James Kirchick reported seeing the same thing at the same rally in City Journal

To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time Hezbollah has threatened nuclear war.

Hezbollah isn’t broadcasting this to the world. If Hitchens and Kirchick hadn’t written about it, few would know the mushroom-cloud banner even exists. It’s not so much a threat as it is a revelation of Hezbollah’s dark psyche.

But perhaps Hezbollah’s not shouting “nuclear war” for all to hear means its threats are more dangerous than public taunts from the Iranian government. Empty threats and hyperbole are rife in the Middle East

Death threats are rarely carried out anywhere. Most assassins don’t announce their intentions. They kill their victims without warning. Whatever Hezbollah’s mushroom-cloud banner means, we know this much: intimations of nuclear war with Israel are now coming from Lebanon as well as Iran. The worst case scenario — a mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv — might be slightly more likely than some of us thought.

Every foreign policy-maker and analyst must be wondering whether Israel will bomb Iranian nuclear facilities this year or next. Most don’t know the answer. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself might not know the answer. It’s risky. Hezbollah didn’t open a second front against Israel during the Gaza war a few months ago, but it’s unlikely they’ll sit still in South Lebanon if their patron and armorer in Tehran is attacked. Iran’s Al Quds Force may retaliate against the United States in Iraq. A military strike against Iran could easily trigger a regional conflagration.

There’s a theory floating around the Middle East that I’ve heard from Israelis and Arabs alike, and some find it slightly reassuring: Iran doesn’t want to use nuclear weapons against Israel. Rather, Iran wants nuclear weapons so it can transform itself into a true regional superpower. Arab regimes fear this, which is why Saudi Arabia and Egypt have threatened to develop or purchase their own nuclear arsenals to counter the “Persian bomb.”

No Arab state got into an arms race with Israel to counter the “Zionist bomb,” but they’re obviously worried about what might happen to them if Tehran weaponizes uranium. The Iranians don’t want to be neutralized by an arms race, so they’re threatening the Israelis and hoping the Arabs will relax or acquiesce. I don’t know if the theory is true, but Hezbollah’s recent mushroom-cloud banner doesn’t quite fit. Hezbollah didn’t put that on stage to calm nerves in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. They used it to thrill a crowd of furious Shia Arabs in Lebanon.

An Iranian bomb would be a problem for Israelis, Arabs, and the rest of us even if Tehran has no intention of using it. The last thing an energy-dependent planet needs is extremist regimes with vast oil reserves threatening to obliterate each other as India and Pakistan sometimes do. And the second-to-last thing Israel needs is a nuclear umbrella protecting Hamas and Hezbollah. President Barack Obama said a nuclear Iran would be a “game changer” last year. He’s right.

The worst case scenario — the incineration of Tel Aviv and a nuclear retaliation against Tehran — isn’t likely. I don’t expect it will ever actually happen. I’m sure enough — at least 90 percent sure — that I feel safe making the prediction in public. I’m a writer, though, not a policy maker. And I don’t live in Israel. I’m safe and can afford to be wrong. I won’t be killed, nor will I be blamed for getting anyone else killed. The Israeli government won’t make the same risk calculations I make. If I’m wrong, they’re dead, and so is their country.

I can’t tell whether or not Israel will launch a pre-emptive strike. But let’s assume, for the sake of discussion, that it’s 90 percent likely Iran’s threats of annihilation are just bluster. And let me ask this: How would you feel if your doctor diagnosed you with an illness and said there’s a ten percent chance it will kill you? Would you find 90 percent odds of survival acceptable? Would you sleep peacefully and do nothing and hope for the best? I travel to dangerous places. It’s part of my job. But those odds, for me, are prohibitive. Those odds are almost as bad as the odds in Russian Roulette, and you couldn’t pay me enough to play that game even once.

Chinese spies may have put chips in US planes

from Times of India h/t Jawa

Chinese spies may have put chips in US planes

WASHINGTON: The Chinese cyber spies have penetrated so deep into the US system — ranging from its secure defence network, banking system, electricity grid to putting spy chips into its defence planes — that it can cause serious damage to the US any time, a top US official on counter-intelligence has said.

“Chinese penetrations of unclassified DoD networks have also been widely reported. Those are more sophisticated, though hardly state of the art,” said National Counterintelligence Executive, Joel Brenner, at the Austin University Texas last week, according to a transcript made available on Wednesday.

Listing out some of the examples of Chinese cyber spy penetration, he said: “We’re also seeing counterfeit routers and chips, and some of those chips have made their way into US military fighter aircraft.. You don’t sneak counterfeit chips into another nation’s aircraft to steal data. When it’s done intentionally, it’s done to degrade systems, or to have the ability to do so at a time of one’s choosing.”

Referring to the Chinese networks penetrating the cyber grids, he said: “Do I worry about those grids, and about air traffic control systems, water supply systems, and so on? You bet I do. America’s networks are being mapped. There has also been experience of both Chinese and criminal network operations in the networks of some of the banks”.

US Weighing Punishing Israel if it Attacks Iran

This is all speculative. There is no hard evidence to back up the point-of-view expressed by China Confidential. However, I agree with the writer. All Obama administration signals point towards the abandonment of Israel as an ally.

And, by the way, if you read this article and think to yourself, "Well, what's wrong with a two-state solution?", then answer this question, "Is the Gaza Strip not already a Palestinian state in all but name only? After all, they have elected a government (Hamas - here read their Charter - it calls for the murder of "Jews" - not Israelis, but "Jews").

And, if Palestinians elect Hitlerian Jew-haters, when they are given their Freedom, then do we really need another Palestinian state?

The idea is an abomination.

From China Confidential:

Having taken military action against Iran off the table, the Obama administration is considering ways of punishing Israel if it attacks Iran to end its nuclear arms program (and prevent a second Holocaust).

In other words, having failed to contain Iran, the United States is concentrating on restraining Israel.

Administration contingency plans include condemnation of Israel, support for a United Nations Security Council resolution that could include sanctions on Israel, and suspending or seriously cutting military aid to the Jewish State.

One of President Obama's closest foreign policy advisers, National Security Council member Samantha Power, is a proponent of ending military aid to Israel in order to force it to negotiate with Iran's Palestinian Islamist proxy, Hamas, and withdraw from all lands taken during the Six-Day War of June 1967. Power also advocates shifting aid to a Palestinian state. Overall, she views Israel as a liability and a historic mistake, in line with the European left position (and that of old-line, right-of-center, American isolationists and anti-Semites). Her antidemocratic admirers in the Democratic Party's (Hillary-hating) left wing agree and are eager for an opportunity to paint Israel as a Jewish North Korea (although they actually have more sympathy for North Korea than for Israel).

The big question is how the Obama administration would react if Iran retaliated against Israel indirectly as well as directly--by making good on its repeated threats to attack U.S. forces in the Middle East and shut down the strategic, 29 mile-wide Strait of Hormuz, through which an estimated 20% of the world's crude oil is transported by tanker ships. Would the U.S. fight back with real ferocity or respond in a limited way while blaming Israel for preemptively attacking Iran and appealing to "the Muslim world" for "understanding?"

One wonders how the Apologizer-in-Chief would react.

Holocaust-denying Iran and its Lebanese Islamist Shiite proxy, the Hitlerian Hezbollah, have also vowed to "burn Tel Aviv" if attacked by either Israel or the U.S. Jerusalem's clerical fascist foes have amassed arsenals of ballistic missiles and rockets to bombard Tel Aviv and Haifa. Israel's political-military leadership must be taking this into consideration; a "six-hour war," designed to eliminate Iranian missile installations and nuclear sites could be the result.

Three decades of attempts to appease and accommodate Islamist Iran have led to the present countdown to conflict. Obama's so-called diplomatic surge--which transcends appeasement in downgrading and ultimately abandoning Israel in order to try to strike a "grand bargain" with Iran for pacification of the Middle East--has put Jerusalem on a political collision course with Washington.

Israelis are understandably stunned by the developments. Prime Minister Netanyahu's late, great mentor, Menahem Begin, would not recognize today's political landscape; his late, Labor Party rivals--Golda Meir comes to mind--would also be shocked by the situation. Time was, no Israeli expected Iran--a predominantly Muslim, non-Arab ally of the U.S. and tacit ally of Israel--to emerge as the number-one existential threat to the Jewish State.

But that was before the catastrophic Carter administration betrayed Iran's modernizing monarch, Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, in a craven, failed attempt to hop aboard the Islamist bandwagon.

Jimmy Carter betrayed the Shah; Barack Obama is betraying Israel--already. His "engagement" drive is giving Iran time to achieve its nuclear/missile objectives.

EDITOR'S NOTE: About Obama's apologizing to the world and bowing to the Saudi King--the left loves it. The more the President apologizes for alleged American arrogance and other supposed sins, the more popular he is with the Democratic Party's left wing. The deeper he bows, the more they appreciate him. The left believes it is high time that America was brought to its knees, forced to submit to the Third World. Like the radical right, the left makes common cause with Islamism in order to cut America down to size and set Israel up for a final solution. Israel is especially despised for its success and power; its defeat is seen as paving the way for the disappearance of the Jews as a people. Like the failed Russian revolutionaries of the late 1800s, the pro-pogrom Norodniki, who sought to ally with Russia's notoriously anti-Semitic peasants, today's left believes that "Jewish blood will oil the wheels of revolution."

Most Jewish Norodniki left the movement because of its anti-Semitism. Will American Jews leave the Democratic Party when the Obama administration's betrayal of Israel becomes too obvious to ignore?

The problem with priorities?

Day after day, for over 8 years, we were contaminated by the MSM's drool, inundated with their screams of glee and nary a peep from the government, over pictures like these:

Yet, when the right throws a couple of these:

the MSM screams in frightened hysteria and the government labels us extremists?

We've got a problem.

Luxury car terrorists

Another attempt has been made at attacking Israeli authorities with an expensive German-made car:
A Palestinian driver ran over two police officers Saturday, while they were on a patrol near the Hizmeh checkpoint, north of Jerusalem.

According to the initial police report, the officers were on routine Highway Police activity at the time of the incident, inspecting a Palestinian taxi at the checkpoint, when the man, driving a Mercedes, came out of one of the lanes and rammed into them.

Both officers were thrown a short distance from the impact of the car. They were rushed to the Hadassah Mount Scopus and Hadassah Ein Kerem hospitals in Jerusalem, suffering from moderate and light injuries to their lower extremities.

The driver, a 37-year-old Palestinian resident of the East Jerusalem village of al-Azariya, was detained immediately. The man initially admitted malice, but later confessed to having mental problems.
First, I'm afraid that terrorist attacks are on the increase again. Oh, and don't buy into his sob story about mental illness, which is certainly farfetched.

Now, about the car. Notice how the vehicle used was a luxury car made by a German outfit? A couple months ago, a similar incident happened in Jerusalem when another car jihadist used a BMW. Again, this shows how these are no paupers.

Those Radical Right Wingers

That's okay, because I am a Radical for Capitalism. I hope this doesn't mean a visit from the DHS for thoughtcrime.

Cartoon shamelessly lifted from Americans for Limited Government.

Update: How the once mighty Charles Johnson at Little Green Footballs has devolved into complete irrelevance:

It’s probably pretty obvious that I’m ambivalent about these protests, because I think they’ve been coopted to a large extent by Ron Paul nuts and other fringe groups. I know there are also a lot of decent people participating, but unfortunately almost nobody seems to be interested in denouncing and keeping out the kooks, and that’s a real shame. Instead, people who try to sound a warning are being attacked and smeared.

This is not a recipe for success. [Yeah, right.]

Note, that Johnson provides no evidence to support his paranoid delusions of "Ron Paul nuts and other fringe groups" behind every Tea Party and under every bed.

UPDATED The Middle East prepares..... The world waits.....

Update at bottom.

Is this the inevitable war? The "JOLT" I spoke about here?

This is where the roaring has been emanating from for years. The "dry tinder" is ready and waiting for the "spark".

What decision will our talking head in his throne make, without our input?

Will he side with Iran ideologically or worse, militarily? Will this be an explosion in the ME, or become our next world war?

DE BORCHGRAVE: Jitters over expected Israeli air attack
Gulf states get set for a raid on Iran's nuclear sites
By Arnaud de Borchgrave | Friday, April 17, 2009

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members - Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Oman - are getting ready for what many now assume will be retaliation from Iran after an Israeli bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities later this year.

Up and down the Gulf, Patriot missile batteries have been quietly deployed around key oil installations. The Patriot system is designed to detect, target and hit incoming missiles that may be no more than 10 to 20 feet long and flying at three to five times the speed of sound. Iran has hundreds of missiles and rockets.

There is also a steady traffic in and out of Washington of high-ranking GCC military and defense officials, including Army, Air Force and Navy chiefs. Gulf rulers are fearful Israel's new government - headed by the tough, uncompromising Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - will walk away from any possibility of a Palestinian solution. Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said as much when he it made clear that "we are no longer bound by the previous government's undertakings for the negotiation of a Palestinian state."

The Annapolis accord of 2007 for a two-state solution? Didn't happen on our watch, said Israel's new governing team. Mr. Lieberman even wants to strip any rights from Arab Israelis who are disloyal to the Jewish state.

Undeterred, George Mitchell, the new supernegotiator for a Middle East settlement, went back to the region for the third time since Barack Obama became president. He sees a glimmer of hope for a peace deal with Syria that would detach the ruling dictatorship from its close ties with Iran. However, a Netanyahu government in Israel is not about to give up control of the Golan Heights it has occupied since the 1967 Six-Day War.

While Iran may unclench its fist in words, as President Obama unclenched America's, no one in Israel, and very few in other countries, believe Iran's theocrats will relinquish the nuclear ambitions they have been working on secretly for the last quarter century. Mr. Netanyahu echoed nearly unanimous Israeli feelings when he said an Iranian bomb, coupled with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's threats of destruction against the Jewish state, is an "existential crisis" that Israel cannot and will not ignore.

Israel's moderate President Shimon Peres added a stern warning. If forthcoming talks with Iran don't yield results, he admonished, "We'll strike." But, he added, this cannot be done without the United States.

Would they really depend on Obama? That would be suicide. But then again, going forward without Obama's approval, would also be suicide. Wait a minute, not doing anything, will be suicide. Shit!

Israel's military intelligence chief Amos Yadlin told the Knesset's foreign-affairs and defense committee that the emergence of a nuclear arsenal in Iran is now "mainly dependent on a political decision."

The assumption among most GCC rulers is that Israel will launch bombers against some of Iran's 27 nuclear sites as soon as it becomes clear the mullahs won't agree to surrender their nuclear option at upcoming six-power talks. The United States and Iran will be at the same negotiating table - along with China, Russia, Britain, France and Germany - for the first time since the Iranian revolution ousted the late shah 30 years ago.

Iran's next presidential elections are scheduled for June 14, when Mr. Ahmadinejad may lose the presidency to a candidate judged by Western powers to be comparatively moderate. However, the latest word from Iran-watchers is that the supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, favors the re-election of his extremist protege. This would be another green light for the Netanyahu coalition government to order an attack.

In response to the comments, I have added a simplified timeline of the lead up to WWII. Substitute these timelines, with those of the building ME crisis.

Despite Obama, a major war is brewing.

1921 Because of the political weaknesses of the League of Nations, the major powers held diplomatic conferences outside the organization; the first of these conferences was held in 1921 and 1922 in Washington DC.

1928 Paris: American seceratary of state, Frank B. Kellogg and french foreign minister, Aristide Briand, drafted a treaty condemning war at an international conference.

Late 1920's Military gained increasing power in Japan.

1930 Japan's liberal prime minister, Yuk Hamaguchi was fatally shot. Political disorder followed, and within two years militarists controlled the Japanese government.

1931 Explosion near the city of Mukden, Manchuria damaged Japanese-controlled railroad.

1932 Japan declares Manchuria an independent nation under the name of "Manchukuo."

1933 Hitler had taken Germany out of the League of Nations and announced his intention to re-arm the country.

1934 Italian border patrol in Italian Somaliland clashed with an Ethiopian border patrol.

1935 Mussolni waged an all out campaign to conquer and colonize the independent nation of Ethiopia.

1936 September: Hitler and Mussolini formed a military alliance called the "Rome-Berlin Axis" and began referring to themselves as the axis powers."
February: A "Populat Front" government that included Socialists and Communists won a major election

Spring: Italians entered the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa

Summer: League of Nations called off its sanctions on Italy.

1937 In the Neutrality Act of 1937, the United States expressed its determination to remain neutral in future wars.

Japanese and Chinese troops clashed near Beijing. Japanese armies captured the city and at once began to move southward. China tried to resist, but it didn't really work.

1938 Threats from both Hitler and Mussolini forced the Austrian government to include Nazi members it's cabinet.

By spring, nationalist forces in Spain had grown strong enough for a large-scale offensive. They defeated the weak loyalist troops in March 1939.

April: Mussolini invades Albania

September 22: Hitler demands that sudetenland be turned over to Germany, and if not he threatened to take it by force.

1939 September 1: Hitler declared the annexation of Danzig to the Reich, while at the same time without warning, his air force made a massive attack on Poland. Within 48 hours of the unannounced attack on Poland had become the beginning of WWII
Japan lost nearly 500,000 troops in China and spent 10 billion. Chinese losses were uncountable.

Japanese occupied about one fourth of China, including all of its seaports, the Chang Jiang valley as far as Hankou and many other interior cities.
A revised Neutrality act allowed American Firms to sell munitions to belligerent nations, but only on a cash-and-carry basis

1940 Fall: Germany held almost all of western Europe

September: President Franklin D. Roosevelt, by executive agreement transferred 50 old American naval destroyers to Great Britain. In exchange, Great Britain gave the United States long-term leases on British naval and airbases in Newfoundland, The British West Indies, and British Guiana.

November: At a Soviet-German conference in Berlin, Soviets demanded that Bulgaria, Istanbul, the Dardanelles, and the Bosporus be included in their sphere of influence.

1941 June 22: The war entered a new phase. Without a declaration of war, German armies invaded the Soviet Union.

December: Expanding conflicts and events in the Pacific area drew the US into war.

December 7: While Tojo's representatives were still in Washington, the Japanese launched a surprise attack on the American naval base at Pearl Harbor.

December 8: Congress declares war on Japan as did the British Parliament. Three days later, Germany and Italy declared war on the United States, and congress replied with its own declaration of war.

The Left Is Making a Mistake in Ridiculing the Tea Parties

By Frank Salvato from New Media Journal:

The political Left in the United States is making a grave mistake in diminishing and dismissing the anger of the American people. Where it may be common place for liberals, Leftists, neo-Marxists and Progressive-Leftists to take to the streets over anything and everything, including a change of wind direction, it is entirely a different story with conservatives and Republicans. Conservatives and Republicans don’t march in the streets for anything. The fact that they have now taken to the streets in protest of massive government spending and government’s encroachment into our liberties speaks volumes to those who would listen.

“Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death!”

An amazing thing happened on the way to America’s socialistic demise...a revolution has fomented. Born of a righteous anger centered on wasteful and special interest government spending, lack of honest representation in government, a move toward transforming the United States Constitutional Republic into a Socialist Democracy, excessive taxation and many more constitutionally based grievances, conservatives, traditionalists and Republicans, as well as centrists, independents and Democrats, took to the streets of just about every congressional district to protest a behemoth runaway government run by an elitist and opportunistic political class. From Chicago to New York, St. Louis to San Francisco, St. Paul to Austin and Miami to Portland, hard-working, taxpaying Americans, who aren’t too often moved to taking to the streets in protest, took to the streets to redress their government.

What makes this “protest” more important and more potent than any petition drive, any email, letter writing or phone campaign, is that it moved conservatives, traditionalists and Republicans to take to the streets, something that in most every instance and in every circumstance they are not wont to do. The question that is being asked now is this: Will this movement grow and gather strength enough to affect real, meaningful and constitutionally friendly “change” or will conservatives, traditionalists and Republicans fall prey to their traditional boogey-man, factionalism?

The Conservative Challenge

For decades– both in my political life and for as long as I have been writing and publishing – I have contended that conservatives and Republicans – the Right – aren’t cohesive. Since entering into the new media publishing and non-profit educational venues I have come to understand that they don’t financially support the organizations and publications that carry the water for them; who defend the traditionalist ideology from mainstream media and Leftist attacks. They employ ideological litmus tests for their prospective candidates instead of selecting candidates that would dedicate their public service to preserving their individual rights to pursue their special interests. And it is obvious to anyone but those walking around with eyes wide shut that it takes an act outrageous and egregious to motivate conservatives and Republicans to the streets in protest.

While this analysis may sound harsh (and with regard to the lack of financial support for those who carry the water for conservatism it is meant to be), for the most part there is an underlying philosophical reason for the differences between the pack mentality of the Left and the individualism of the Right. Where the Left leans more toward identifying our populace in the collective (what’s good for the country is good for the individual), the Right identifies our populace as individuals who, together, make up the whole (what is good for the individual is good for the country). This individualist philosophy lends itself to self-sufficiency and individual responsibility which leads to a community of people who believe that solutions come from individuals and not government. This, of course, leads to a civically responsible community.

A vulnerability that exists in extreme individualism is that it leads to a community of individuals who always want to be the leader. We’ve all heard the phrase, “Too many chiefs and not enough Indians.” When everyone believes that their way of achieving things is the best, factions develop that impede the whole of the community from being effective in achieving common goals.

A prime example of this can be found in the ideological litmus test for political candidates. Instead of supporting candidates that would fight to protect an individual’s right to pursue matters important to the individual, factions within the conservative community threaten to withhold support if theirindividual special interests, the subjects and issues most important to them, are not embraced by candidates. Using the individualist philosophy in political pursuits instead of measuring candidates on their dedication to preserving and defending the individuals’ rights to pursue their individual interests makes it next to impossible to not only come to a consensus on a candidate, but slate a candidate that can beat the Left’s cohesive, pack-mentality voting style.

Extreme individualism is also the main reason that the Right continually falls to the Left in establishing and funding political action and advocacy groups. It is the primary reason why, even though there are people on the right side of the ideological aisle who have even more money than neo-Marxist financier George Soros, there are no groups like MoveOn.org, America Coming Together, Media Matters, etc. Those ideological groups that do exist on the right side of the ideological aisle are almost always extremely limited in what they can do to combat the Leftists because they are so underfunded.

This is why the events of April 15th, 2009, are so incredible and important in and of themselves. It would seem that the acts outrageous and egregious have occurred at the hand of our government, so much so and for so long that – to borrow a line from a Bob Dylan song, “...the times, they are a changin’.”

The Beneficiaries of American Political Apathy

The American Fifth Column – an association of one-worlders, neo-Marxists, Progressive-Leftists, Communists, Socialists and anarchists, to name some of the more notable groups – has successfully intruded into our daily lives by implementing a shadow set of societal laws in “political correctness”; a shadow set of rules antithetical to the United States Constitution. This is true to such an extent that elected officials are basing the creation of legislation on these tenets, tenets directly taken from the Marxist-Leninist philosophy. From hate crime laws whose definitions are open to ideological interpretation to the mass redistribution of wealth currently being perpetrated upon the American people by the Obama Administration to the government funded indoctrination of our children into special interest ideology via the public schools system, the elements of our society that believe government is the answer have infiltrated every avenue of our lives and they have placed the importance of their ideology above even the proper execution of representative government.

But most disturbing is that the American Fifth Column has so successfully employed the tactics of Marxist “community organizer” Saul Alinsky  to achieve their goal – the radical transformation of America's social and economic structure – that they have taken control of the US government. Nancy Pelosi’s oligarchy in the US House of Representatives, combined with the almost filibuster-proof Democrat majority in the US Senate, place the Legislative Branch firmly in control of the neo-Marxist wing of the Democrat Party. President Obama – who has talked unabashedly about “economic justice” and the “arrogance” of the United States and who is a self-declared “community organizer” in the mold of the Alinsky model – has populated his administration with far-Left ideologues – many from the Clinton Administration – including many members of the biased and agendized mainstream media.

It can be successfully argued that the neo-Marxist Progressive-Left has become “the establishment” and traditionalist Americans – those who believe in the sanctity of the US Constitution, in freedom, liberty and personal and civic responsibility – have become the “counter-culture.”

Enter the tea parties...

Goebbels Would Be Proud
As real, hard-working Americans from all walks of life – rich, poor, religious, non-religious, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Independent, white, black, yellow, brown, male and female – took to the streets to send a message to their elected officials; those elected to office to represent the best interests of their constituencies, not their political parties, perhaps the most organized and vicious threat to our Constitutional Republic took to the airwaves to discredit, diminish and otherwise smear We the People: the mainstream media.

Make no mistake, while the neo-Marxists elected to office are a threat to our liberty and freedom, to our Constitutional Republic, they wouldn’t be able to come close to the success they have seen so far if it weren’t for the propagandists in the mainstream media. The mainstream media disingenuously and blatantly violated their constitutionally mandated responsibility to act as citizen’s advocate by championing the Obama campaign in the 2008 elections. By refusing to ask the tough questions and selectively airing favorable coverage of the Obama campaign, while criticizing the McCain campaign for even the most benign faux pas, they ensured a victory for Barack Obama thus violating the public trust. True journalism is dead in the mainstream media. It has been replaced by a propaganda dissemination mechanism that would have made Nazi propaganda chief Josef Goebbels envious. With regard to the tea parties two examples stand out...

Radio talk show host, Bill Press, on FOX News, April 14th, tried to float the idea that nefarious conservative organizations were behind the organizing of the nationwide tea party assemblage, saying he ”didn’t see anything genuine or see anything real” about the protests. He advanced a ridiculous theory that because advocate organizations and politicians decided to get on board with the public outrage that they somehow were pulling the strings of the total of protesters from coast-to-coast. Press may understand protests on the Left to be funded by nefarious political and ideological forces – George Soros, MoveOn.org, America Coming Together, Media Matters, the Communist and Socialist Parties, etc. – but conservatives and Republicans aren’t that adept at organizing “march-in-the-street” protests.

Another came from CNN’s Susan Roesgen who displayed a level of elitism in her interviewing of tea party protesters in Chicago heretofore unseen throughout the history of journalism. Roesgen questioned one protester whose frustration with Barack Obama’s totalitarian governmental style led him to equate it to the political stylings of a young, pre-holocaust Adolf Hitler. Forgetting that fascism exists on the left side of an accurate political spectrum, Roesgen chastised the protester for being “offensive.” One must question how offended she was when the same thing was happening to President George W. Bush. Then Roesgen, under the guise of asking a question, lectured and entered into debate with another protester before cutting him off and declaring that the entire protest was orchestrated by FOX News and was, in fact, “anti-government,” “anti-CNN” and “not family viewing.”

This blatant disregard for the public’s genuine anger lends credence to the argument that the mainstream media is not only in the tank for the Obama Administration, but that they have reached such a level of elitism, possessing such an agenda-driven arrogance, that they have literally become not only an enemy of the Charters of Freedom but an enemy of the people.

Overthrowing Men Who Pervert the Constitution

According to the recently released DHS threat assessment titled, Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic & Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization & Recruitment, my proclivity to actively defend the US Constitution, to actively question a reckless government that has strayed from the principles set forth by our Founders and Framers – principles born of Natural Law and Judeo-Christian values, principles that forged a Constitutional Republic, defines me as a threat to our nation. According to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano (please tell me again what her qualifications for this post are?) because I am angry about the government’s abdication of effective representative government I am a threat to the nation, along with US soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and each and every American who turned out for the tea parties across the nation. Both Napolitano and President Obama – for his silence on the matter – consider We the People “the enemy.”

As of this writing, there are 564 days until the 2010 midterm elections. The questions that remains are these:

Will this truly patriotic movement continue to grow?

Will those who took to the streets on April 15th, 2009, continue to do so until the totalitarian forces of the neo-Marxist Progressive-Left are vanquished once and for all?

Or will conservative, traditionalists, Republicans, concerned centrists and honest Democrats look at their singular achievement and say job well-done as they retreat to the status quo?

To be sure, if the mid-term elections had been held on the day of the tea parties I truly believe most incumbents would have been ousted from office. The anger is that concentrated. But the past holds the truth of the future and it shows that – traditionally – conservatives are hard pressed to maintain cohesiveness over a prolonged period of time. Truthfully, I hope I am proven wrong on this point. The fact is, our nation’s future depends on me being wrong.

After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto is credited with having said, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." If the Left is smart – and that is truly being questioned by many Americans – they will form a new-found respect for the admiral’s words with regard to the events of April 15th, 2009.

If the Right is smart, and in their awakening it appears they are, they will realize this needs to be an ongoing effort, that there is hard work ahead, that everyone must act cohesively and that...

...the revolution starts now!

“We, the people, are the rightful masters of both congress and the courts - not to overthrow the constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the constitution.”
– Abraham Lincoln
