Jeopardy Question:Why, despite everything, do we just eat up Sarah Palin?

At the NRA:

"Some of these animal activists are just...crazy," she said. "They think we're killing Bambi's mother. I love animals, but in Alaska, Bambi's mother is dinner."

That quote is reminiscent of American greats like Twain and Will Rogers.

As the father of a duaghter who moved to Alaska that statement is absolutely true. And when you have a moose walking past your window stalking your small fox terrier you don't tend to view those antlers as Bambi, his mother or father.

Food is too expensive up there to NOT view it as supper. And the kid has tried moose meat and proclaimed it good.

Besides, even here in Pa., Bambi is just so damned tasty. . .

Sarah is not a woman acting like she is going to run for office. She's having too much fun and making too much money stirring things up. Has a new book coming in November and tour associated with it.

I was nearly killed a few months ago when I glanced at the sky while crossing the street. I was nearly killed because the clouds looked like Sarah Palin, and I stopped to stare.

Then today, while tying my shoe laces, the pattern of the strings as they crossed and twisted spelled out her name across my shoes.

In both cases I survived. This shows that Sarah Palin is meant to be our president.

For sure.

She's going to have to do it without me. She thinks she has the right to impose her personal religious morality on all other women. That's a deal-breaker. Any "mama grizzlies" try that get told to mind their own damn business and go do it in the woods.

Sorry, not sitting in the back of the bus tonight either.

Yep, that's the big problem with the R party, RRA, their moral leanings. KInd of remind me of the Taliban. I prefer their libertarian streak. That's what government should be about.

Nope, she won't get my vote either, but I don't think, in the end, the Republicans will blow it with her. Too much at stake.

Actually RRA, like her wishes about the books in the Wasilla library, in that area think she has it right... there is what she wishes (some of which I totally disagree with) and there is what she will DO. She recognizes the LIMITS of the power her elected positions granted.

She WISHES there was no, or almost no abortion, I am sure. She RECOGNIZES the settled law.

IMHO, that is the SCHWERPUNCKT of difference between a conservative and a progressive, many, the latter of whom would believe that for the good of society personal 'bourgeois' individual pecadilloes must be submerged for the good of the many, as social/economic justice

Such as being COMPELLED by taxes to pay for what you personally (erroneously or not) believe to be murder.

MLR, republicans remind you of the taliban?

Over the top, no?

Certainly morons like Brownback should be run out of town, but is Barney Frank better because his well known private lifestyle allows little hypocrisy in public life?

Some Republicans remind me of the Taliban: Ashcroft, Palin, W. There's no denying the religious right is a big pillar of the Republican party, and they are wrong to try and impose their religious beliefs on anyone. They alienate a lot of people who, like me, love the libertarian side of the Republican party.

ONe of the things I like best about Jews is their whole identity is based on religion and yet, as a people, they fight to the teeth to maintain a secular country.
