President Barack Obama’s Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu uttered the kind of Washington gaffe that consists of telling the truth when inconvenient. According to Politico, Chu admitted to a House committee that the administration is not interested in lowering gas prices.Chu, along with the Obama administration, regards the spike in gas prices as a feature rather than a bug. High gas prices provide an incentive for alternate energy technology, a priority for the White House, and a decrease in reliance on oil for energy.

Two NATO troops were killed by an Afghan soldier and a civilian who opened fire on them in southern Afghanistan, a NATO statement said Thursday.“Two individuals, one believed to be an Afghan National Army service member and the other in civilian clothing, turned their weapons indiscriminately against International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and Afghan National Security Force service members in southern Afghanistan today [Thursday], killing two ISAF service members,” the statement read.
The shooters were involved in literacy activities in Afghanistan.
Perhaps they just don’t want to read anything but the book they defaced with writing those secret messages in.

What a difference three years can make. When Obama was elected, the FDIC closed a bank and in their press release the usual, the FDIC looks after the nations 8,451 Banks and savings institutions.Yesterday they closed another (of the 100's between those two dates) and of course the usual statement at the end, the FDIC looks after the nation's 7,359 Banks and savings institutiosn.
