Can Chen Guangchen EMBARRASS Obama into bringing him ‘into the light’?

Two weeks ago Michelle Obama took time out from the half million dollar vacations like the Costa Del Sol to tell us:
I am going to be working so hard. We have an amazing story to tell. This president has brought us out of the dark and into the light.”
Yesterday the USA placed a blind man, who is in effect an ACLU lawyer opposing Chinese govt forced abortions back into Chinese custody, in a manner, …well, in baseball they would say Chen Guangchen has been designated for assignment.
The NYT, clearly acting from the Obama playbook of ‘the dog ate my homework lists’ reported that Chen had told everyone he wanted to remain in China. I cast doubt on this interpretation of the actions of blind man who had conceived to escape his captors and get to the American Embassy. The Obama admin, with Hillary Clinton right there in China acted as if this was nothing, and all was disposed of.
Today….

China activist appeals to Obama to get him to US

Chinese activistChen Guangchengappealed toUS President Barack Obamato help get him and his family out ofChina, saying he feared for his life just hours after leaving theUS embassy in Beijing.
“I would like to say toPresident Obama: please do everything you can to get our family out,” Chen told CNN, according to a translation of his quote.
He also accused US embassy officials of pushing him hard to leave the safety of the embassy on Wednesday where he had sought refuge for six days after fleeing his home in the eastern province of Shandong.
“The embassy kept lobbying me to leave and promised to have people stay with me in the hospital, but this afternoon, as soon as I checked into the hospital room, I noticed they were all gone,” Chen told CNN by phone.
CNN correspondent Stan Grant said he interviewed Chen, who is in a Beijing hospital, at around 3:00 am Thursday (1900 GMT Wednesday) with his wife sitting by his bedside.
Barack Obama is the worst president in the HISTORY OF THE NATION.
He had a chance to make an unequivocal stand for freedom of conscience and speech. He had a chance to make political points.
LARGE ONES.
He had a chance to garner support and praise from the republicans, which SURELY would have happened.
He had THE chance for THAT mark in American and world history. PERMANENTLY MADE. No one could ever take it away from him.
Did the Chinese BUY his cooperation by threatening to dump $ and send the USA into recession/depression? Was Obama worried this would affect his reelection?
Did they bluster? Were Obama’s own people hopelessly tactically lost in the day to day relational hype of making a ‘success’ of Clinton’s trip?
Or is Chen just a distraction from Obama’s policies?
Why didn’t he tell Hillary Clinton to go the hospital, get the guy dressed HERSELF, and holding his hand and his wife’s hand GO TO THE AIRPORT?
What would that have said?
About him?
About us?
What do his actions say about him?
About us?
Barack Obama has acted disgracefully.
Get Chen here as a hero. It is too late for a finesse solution, which would have been fine days ago.

Why would we want him to come here?

If we start offering free trips to America for everyone that walks into one of our embassies we're going to have about a billion takers.

What was this guy expecting was going to happen to him when he embarrassed his own government?

How did this get to be my problem?

Bringing him here makes about as much sense as not sending Uyghur terrorists in Gitmo back to China ...... because we're concerned for their safety?

I mean Damn ...... if the Chinese are more evil than terrorists, why is Walmart full of their wares?

Its embarrassing to the see the right try to use this as a political stick against Obama and Hillary. I'm going to be more pissed off at Hillary if she gives this agitator a free ride back here.

IMHO..that is screwed up thinking and this is no stick to USE against Obama, NOR is this an immigration issue.

This is the guy standing in front of the tanks, a freedom fighter

A blind freedom fighter ..and everything we can ever do, and HAVE EVER DONE throughout our history to promote protect and INVITE such thinking and such thinkers is PRECISELY what made us great. But maybe you have forgotten what is says on the statue of liberty in Texas.

Earning prison, and a promised DEATH to your family over freedom of speech and conscience is about as PATRIOTIC AMERICAN AS YOU CAN GET ... WE NEED SUCH PEOPLE.

You think the right is embarrassing ...sorry but such thinking as you exhibit is what is embarrassing.

Ah yes ...... our unquestionable conditioning to promote the spread of democracy to every corner of the planet.

Whatever you do, dont objectively analyze the results of our past efforts to bring free and fair elections to Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt, or Palestine.

Ignore the fact that these "free" people have installed governments that are still hostile to us, or that we somehow feel like we have to bankroll these fledgling democracies for the foreseeable future.

You seem to really want to bring "freedom" to the Chinese people ......... have you thought that conditioned emotional impulse through to its conclusion?

Despite the corruption of the current regime in China, which is really just a reflection of the corrupt culture of Chinese society, they are already on track to exceed our global influence. They're already outmaneuvering us on harvesting the resources of the 3rd world.

WHY do you want them, or anyone else currently living under an oppressive regime to be free?

Because it's supposed to make us feel better about ourselves?

You think they give a rats ass about our welfare?

Do you think a free and democratic China would be any less of a threat to our global interest?

Do you think the Chinese people would not put their interest above ours if they had a government of their choosing?

These same people you want to be free are the same ones that want to supplant us in the global pecking order.

If you really care about whats in OUR best interests, you might considering dwelling on how we became a superpower while other nations were mired in oppression and poverty.

We're all competitors for global influence. I typically try to not help my competitors become more efficient in their operations.

I want America to remain the world's dominant economic player for as long as possible. That supersedes any conditioning I may have received to fulfill our self-imposed duty as the world's policeman, banker, and freedom bringer.

I haven't lost a minute's sleep worrying about how rough the Chinese people have it.

I could give a rat's ass whether or not the Commies take this blind agitator out and shoot him against our embassy wall.

In fact, sometimes when I see some third worlders chanting "death to America" ...... and then see them return to their poverty stricken mud huts .... I kinda get a little bit of an involuntary grin thing goin' on.

Dont you think the timing of his escape from house arrest is a little suspicious.

Your conscience is his tool. You're being played.

My grandparents came here in 1898 PRECISELY for the reasons this man wants to come. ESCAPE FROM OPPRESSION INTO FREEDOM.

Nothing more than that
And there IS nothing more to it. People who wish to be free coming here has nothing to do with a wish to free china. Let those slaves remain and let those who wish to BE FREE TO ACHIEVE come here.

Those who did not leave to come here, btw, were ALL, 100% of them, SLAUGHTERED.

Those who did?
The result down 3 generations? 4 phd's, 11 master's degrees, 17 teachers, 7 business owners, 3 people in medical research, 4 lawyers, 3 doctors, 2 dentists, and 2 childrens's early intervention abuse specialists.

We NEED people like that.
Fuck china and those who want to remain. I don't want to free them, I want those who want to be free to achieve to BE FREE HERE and make this place better.

Interesting exchange. I can appreciate a lot of what RT says. It's a "culturist" argument.

I happen to like the Chinese. Used to be a big Amy Tan fan. I also think that they will be the ones to stop pisslam?

Anyway, funny how good arguments can make you see both sides and promote thought.

Still, I would give him asylum. He's an individual in a collectivist country. But I understand RT's position and love his/her attitude. We can't save the world.

Admitting those who fight for freedom, are brave while doing it, and wish to escape from totalitarianism, or oppression is WHY WE WERE BORN.

How many of the colonies were ESCAPES?

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest tossed,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door."

Nothing there about the US freeing ANYONE ELSE, ANYWHERE

BTW, of all the top scientists involved in the Manhattan project, ONLY Robert Oppenheimer was NOT an immigrant, and his job was to oversee engineering of a warhead.
ALL the theoretical physicists that led the effort faced just what Chen Guangchen faces.

And came here for those same reasons
