Califorinia Drought Is Not About ‘Climate Change’ – It’s About Failed Liberal Policy

From Gateway Pundit:

In December 2008, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issued what is known as a “biological opinion” imposing water reductions on the San Joaquin Valley and environs to safeguard the federally protected hypomesus transpacificus, a.k.a., the delta smelt. As a result, tens of billions of gallons of water from mountains east and north of Sacramento was channelled away from farmers and into the ocean, leaving hundreds of thousands of acres of arable land fallow or scorched.

Democrats created a dust bowl based on junk science.
A federal judge later ruled the liberal study that forced California officials to cutback on water to the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta was based on faulty science.
But the liberal policy remains.
Now this…
The current drought in California is not about global warming – it’s about failed Democrat policies.
Investor’s Business Daily reported:
President Obama visited California’s drought-hit Central Valley Friday, offering handouts and blaming global warming. But the state’s water shortage is due to the left’s refusal to deal with the state’s water needs.
GO READ THE WHOLE THING.

Let's be clear: We really are going through a drought here in California. It has hardly rained for the past several years. For someone like me, who LOVES rain, it is sad.

But, of course, water policy could be handled more effectively. And, to find that our stupid Democrat-controlled government is mismanaging water based on Junk Science is both maddening and, at the same time, not the least surprising.

In another venue, serious people are still fretting about the oceans rising. So, there is no shortage of water, indeed there is excess water.

California could have all the water it wanted to make if only it built enough desalination plants. Alas, the most recent one being built has taken 12 years so far, thanks to government-enabled delays such as regulatory reviews, and litigation hurdles all put there by leftists who appear hell-bent on stopping all human progress, except perhaps progress in new forms of sexual expression.
