Nov 2013 news not related to the current children's invasion that was partially set up by TV Channel 12 Tijuana. The people involved form part of the "Campamento de la Plaza de la Constitucion de Ensenada." They were deported to Tijuana from the US leaving loved ones in the US which is why they decided to wait, save money and try to recross into the US rather than return to their cities/countries of origin (Not All of them are Mexican). In the meanwhile, having no money, they lived in the Tijuana river valley in a makeshift camp which they named, "Campamento de la Plaza de la Constitucion de Ensenada." Anyhow, the Tijuana City Police evicted them from their camp with nowhere to go and no money. So, they, as a desperate group, decided to risk it and cross as a large group figuring the Border Patrol could not possibly catch all of them and, so they thought, some of them would make it across. They also decided, also as a group, to wear their best clothes in case they made it across in order to blend-in). Reporters from Channel 12 News Tijuana (the guy in the business clothes) and/or Telemundo San Diego got wind of this ahead of time and sent in a spy with a small camera. These same reporters interviewed some of these people after the fact and they said the Border Patrol Agents, who were waiting for them, fired on them with rubber bullets first hurting some of them which is why they threw rocks and bottles. The rock and bottle throwers were the coyotes (human smugglers) who are often gang members. The few who would have made it across chickened out when they realized that the Border Patrol agents were using stun Guns and Tear gas on them. The border rush hasn't happened again.
