The Grand Bargain Obama Missed

You know, the one which would have BENEFITED the USA and our allies.

We live in a world in which the TWICE elected govt of the USA has favorited the Muslim Brotherhood and all it’s offshoots over any and every US interest, including the one we call the safety and security of the American people.

We live in a world in which the TWICE elected govt of the USA has favorited the RACIST and self declared genocidal govt of Iran over our allies.

There are all sorts of theories about why.

Indonesia, Valerie Jarrett, yadda, yadda ..

Irrelevant in the end.

Obama is trying, IMHO, to leave behind a world in which the USA went from supporting Muslim nationalist dictatorships, to a USA which supports what the people have decided they want in their first voting go round, namely the thoughts of Islam as all encompassing entity, as iterated by Sayd Qutb, and Khomeini. Thus in OBAMA’S LOCKED HEAD, we support the best of what Jefferson would want.

Unfortunately, this is the stupidest idea ever to gather among neurons.

His job is NOT to leave behind a changed world, it is to leave a USA and her people safer, healthier, economically more well off, and happier and freer than the day he took office.
So while in his arrogant brain he struggles for an all time world changing grand bargain with Iran to leave behind for history:

Obama has missed a truly planet shaking change which could have been authored by him

The nations most threatened by Iran are Israel and the Sunni states around the Persian Gulf. These states are constantly bombarded by Frank Nitty like offers of ‘protection’ by Iran. They are to one degree or another, ‘benevolent’ dictatorships of king, family or tribe.

Add in Israel, the only nation which can do something about Iran in a world in which our policy is to do NOTHING.

Would the Arab states act to pacify, and demand the Palestinians relent, and back a reasonable if imperfect peace of mutual mistrust and verifications, while Israel destroys Iran as a regional power, leaving one that cannot threaten those Sunni states in our generation, making ALL those states safe for ALL those tribes and leaders?

I don’t know.

And neither does Barack Obama.

But if Obama had tried along these incredibly difficult lines, instead of treating the mullahs who have crowed for genocide for 36 years as his path, WE and ALL OUR ALLIES in the middle east merely by imagining this possibility, and envisioning how it could be done, would have at least known HE TRIED, without FURTHER ENDANGERING the safety, and happiness and economic health of the American people …who surely now, are looked at by the leaders and people of our allies as quite stupid, and risk averse, having elected Obama, a man who cannot recognize REAL DANGER, twice.
