Gail Simone delights me with another honor

Simone has written several comic books over the years, but is sadly an ultra-leftist person, as she once made abundantly clear on the Chuck Dixon forum, where she no longer visits. And here now in this special post is a little something she had to say about me along with silly ol' Judd Winick:

LOL! Swearing is not enough, she's got to back herself up to boot, and she hasn't, so why bother writing that, other than to say, "I hate you", which is just what her tweet amounts to? If that's your sentiment, say so, Mrs. Simone, don't hold back. There's also this combo involving Ron Marz:

Good! Because asking for any from such an awful man would be foolish in the extreme. He's only made me feel honored as well. When did I ever ask for any from such a disgrace who's got such lack of caring for life?

That could easily describe a certain somebody who sees nothing wrong with Islamofascism, and the misogyny and homophobia practiced within it. She's pretty good for laughing at herself. In fact, I think I'll put on a Hannibal Buress routine now and tell things like they are.

"See, I'm Gail Simone and I can talk down to everybody because I've got this great career writing comic books!" Yeah, but you turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to the plight of women and homosexuals in Muslim countries, Gail. So please, kindly tone down that shrieky little boast of yours, why don't you? Because you're a charlatan and a major embarrassment, that's what. In retrospect, you actually deserved to lose your gig writing Birds of Prey, and you've never even offered any genuine gratitude to Dixon for getting the series launched to start with. Any women who's a realist and figures out how your mind functions isn't going to consider you a big deal in the long run, and neither are gays and lesbians who figure that out. So wake up and smell the coffee, Gail, because you're only riding the same futile path as Don Quixote.

So far, Simone has never actually indicated she's willing to apologize for "media enablers" of people in comicdom who endorse or tolerate misogyny, in storytelling or real life. But with these tweets, she's come pretty close. I'm honestly not too surprised she'd be willing to act as some kind of apologist in certain instances, and it was probably bound to happen sooner or later. Ah well, it just shows how poor some folksies' judgement can be when money is involved.

Fight against anti-semitism still continues in France

World Israel News reports that Muslim anti-semitism still plagues France, and the authorities have their hands full combating it. A planned attack in Lyon was fortunately thwarted, and four men have been arrested for aiding the jihadist at the kosher supermarket.

Swedish Journalist Dresses as Jew For a Walk In The Streets of Malmo, Attacked and Threatened Repeatedly

From the New Anti-Semitism:
SVT reporter Petter Ljunggren reported on Malmo antisemitism for the "Uppdrag granskning" show. There are 1,500 Jews in Malmo, and some told him that they're afraid to live there and afraid to go out the door.
They are regularly taunted, have eggs thrown at them, and otherwise attacked. Ljunggren wanted to know what it feels like as a Jew in Malmo, so he put on a kippah and Star of David, and went out to walk the streets.
He was followed by an undercover reporter who filmed everything.
Along the town's main road, Ljunggren was immediately confronted. One man told him he should leave if he was wearing that 'Jewish shit'.
Another shouted at him that he's a Jew-devil. People shouted at 'dirty Jewish pig' and "Jewish pigs, we'll kill you'. In the neighborhoods of Lindängen and Rosengård, he was harassed so much, he considered just leaving.
In Lindängen a guy warned him to just get out of there. In Rosengård they were attacked by a mob, and when they fled, people threw eggs at them from the windows.

But At Least He'll Meet With Netanyahu. Oh, wait....

Yes, in yet another example of Obama's respect for the Jewish people, he refuses to visit Auschwitz on the 70th anniversary of its liberation.

And he refuses to meet with Netanyahu when he visits Washington at the request of John Boehner.

But I guess that's an improvement on the way he treated Netanyahu on a previous visit, when he left him alone in a room while Obama enjoyed a leisurely meal.

Whatta guy!

Everyone Loves Allah

In this video, we get to see the petulant god Allah in all his gory ... I mean, glory. (Sorry about that.)
This is absolutely brilliant. My hats off to this guy.

Ingmar Bergman wishes he had created this extraordinary piece of cinema, depicting the Allah, the creation of man, and the co-eternal word of god.

Oh yeah, and then there's Satan. But, never mind that.

We were talking about Allah.

The Part of Yourself You Used to Own

From Richard Fernandez at PJM:
The media world passed a milestone of sorts when the British tabloid The Sun decided to discontinue its “Page 3″ topless photo feature thus “delighting the legion of critics who have branded the photos of bare-breasted models sexist, offensive and anachronistic”.
Welcome to 2015, when hardly a day passes without some new stricture against smoking, drinking, ogling pretty girls or speech. It is as if we were back in the days of Queen Victoria, with all the prohibitions against demon rum, devil lust, swearing and blasphemy being reinstated under other names.
The West flatters itself by thinking it lives in a world of tolerance and individual freedom. Recently Marine Le Pen wrote an op-ed in the New York Times extolling the virtues of “laïcité, France’s distinctive form of secularism” which in contrast to the strange taboos of religious fanatics, liberates the human spirit.
But the distinction between the two is rapidly becoming a sham. To an ever-greater degree the “free man” of the West is an unarmed, frightened, policed and browbeaten cipher whose first reaction to any crisis is to ‘shelter in place’
Through some strange process which doubtless some French sociologist will soon explain, our vaunted secular society is progressively reviving every taboo found in religions past or present as if we were experiencing some global religious revival without even the benefit of having a God. It’s like a joke, and it’s on us.
We are far along the road. Already we’ve reintroduced sackcloth and ashes, in the form of Green Living. We purchase indulgences in the form of carbon credits. Our daily lives are now being prescribed to the minutest detail of acceptability not on the basis of divine revelation or ethical teaching, but because some politician or celebrity said it must be thus.
We do this even as we congratulate ourselves for being free of religious cant when in fact we are as full of it as ever. Consider the piteous regard that liberal, enlightened newspapers have for the members of Christian Health Ministries, who share the cost of medical treatment among their members.
The liberal papers readily admit the arrangement provides a much smaller monthly bill than Obamacare, but are full of contempt for the Christian rules of “clean living” its members must observe in order to keep this pool low-risk.
To join a health sharing ministry “certain conditions are excluded, particularly those that arise as the result of a lifestyle that does not meet the guidelines of the organization, such as drug or alcohol abuse, or extramarital sex.” Tut tut.
Yet the supposedly secular Obamacare is just as full of “Wellness” provisions as any Christian Health Ministry. The Wellness programs punish disapproved lifestyle choices with heavy financial penalties.
The American Interest writes: “pretty soon your mom might not be the only one nagging you to quit smoking or lose weight—and it won’t stop at nagging. As the NYT reports, workplace penalties for non-participation in wellness programs are on the rise.
The ACA gave employers more freedom to offer rewards or penalties in order to make their employee pools less of an insurance risk, and apparently they’re running with it.” Reuters says the trend is wellness — or else.
“For some companies, however, just signing up for a wellness program isn’t enough. They’re linking financial incentives to specific goals such as losing weight, reducing cholesterol, or keeping blood glucose under control. The number of businesses imposing such outcomes-based wellness plans is expected to double this year to 46 percent, the survey found. ’Wellness-or-else is the trend,”‘ said workplace consultant Jon Robison of Salveo Partners.”
The difference between the lifestyle commitment of a Christian Health Ministry and an Obamacare Wellness Program is the spelling. That and the fact that you don’t have to join the former, but increasingly have no choice about the latter. There is no escape. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
For example, Jose Pagliery of CNN reports that the administration is sharing your health data with third party providers. Healthcare.gov, the federal website where you sign up for Obamacare, is quietly sharing your personal information with private companies. The evidence is in the computer code on the website itself. It shows that Healthcare.gov is relaying certain information, such as your zip code, income level, pregnancy status and whether or not you smoke….
That information is being shared with several third parties. DoubleClick is a Google (GOOG) subsidiary that serves up advertisements and tracks your movements online. Healthcare.gov also shares your data with Google, Twitter (TWTR, Tech30), Yahoo (YHOO, Tech30), YouTube and others….
The Associated Press was the first to report these details on Tuesday. Because when the government pays for your healthcare the government will have ownership over your health records; if not now then soon and for always.
The Lowell Sun writes “By now, no one in this country should have any expectation of privacy, especially when accessing the Internet.” However, in light of the Sony hacking scandal and the president’s call for stronger cybersecurity measures to protect consumers, it’s disturbing to note that dozens of data companies are allowed to troll the government’s own health-insurance website, unbeknown to the millions of Americans who have signed up for Obamacare. Transfats are the new haram. And Wellness is the new temperance.
Ed Driscoll asks the crucial question when he wonders, ‘Why is Beheading Always in the News, is This Really 2015?’ Yes it really is 2015 and the only mistake is to imagine that beheading is not part of the 21st century. We are living in the most cult-ridden age of the last 100 years.
The most telling sign is the cascading collapse of the distinction between God and Caesar — which as I will argue in a moment is the distinction between private and public life.
Once upon a time most people were familiar with the words “render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s”. These old white people’s words which nobody reads any more are the foundations of privacy. They are the thing without which secularism is impossible. That boundary is necessary for the kingdom of the private to exist; it is the charter of the “not of this world”, into which Caesar may not intrude without just cause.
“And they were amazed at Him,” it says in Mark, as Jesus drew the distinction.
Without a private world no true faith can survive.
The only thing which can flourish in a world totally owned by a Caesar is a cult.
One of the things that Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism and authentic secularism share is the need for a place where the state cannot go.
When Jesus taught “my kingdom is not of this world,” he was incidentally marking off the realm of freedom. By contrast the dogma of modern political correctness is founded on opposite maxim: “all your base are belong to us.” For freedom and secularism to survive it ironically needs a ”kingdom not of this world” – the universe of privacy, where the do-gooders operating at the behest of some political messiah have no business intruding. Without privacy, there is no freedom.
The First, Second and Fourth Amendment are mutually interlocking intellectual structures. Absent these “negative rights” we will descend into a kind of religious obscurantism, made all the more bizarre for the fact that is as full of scrupulous observance as it is empty of transcendence.
Kevin Williamson in the National Review argued we are now witnessing the abolition of private life. Citing the black brunch protesters who are determined to invade spaces where behavior they don’t approve of may be going on, Williamson says “the message these protests send is that there is no private space — and, therefore, no private life — so far as this particular rabble is concerned.”
But Williamson stops short of giving that rabble its true name. The leftist mobs perform the function which in a strict Islamic society would be fulfilled by the mutaween or religious police.
That’s exactly what they are and there are ever more of them each day. The mutaween circulate among us endlessly, looking at the third page of the paper you’re perusing, checking the spread of your legs as you ride the subway, parsing your words for forbidden phrases, investigating suspicious Greek fraternities, ensuring the requisite Wellness, retaining all the data passing through your ISP to be sure you have had no impure thoughts recently, even as they remind you that “yes means no” — all the while denying that there is an ultimate meaning to anything. Why all this busyness? Well that’s the irony. They don’t even know why.
Well, just because.

Boko Haram Attack Repelled By Armed Women

The Sistas Be Doin' It For Themselves

Another Boko Haram Attack Repelled By Armed Women
Several Nigerian media outlets have been reporting on local women in the villages of Attagara and Kawuri in Borno State who recently disarmed nearly a dozen Boko Haram terrorists.
The notorious pseudo-Islamic terror groups tried to attack the Attagara and Kawuri communities over the weekend but the insurgents were instantly repelled by a group of armed women.
The Attagara and Kawuri villages in Gwoza and Bama Local Government Areas of Borno State resisted the attack using an array of local talismans and, of course, their assault weapons came in handy as well.

The West Is Getting Closer To Using Sedition Laws Against Islam: French Court Rules Government Can Strip Citizenship From Jihad-Terrorists

From the Jersualem Post, by way of Astute Bloggers:
France's top court ruled on Friday it was possible to strip the nationality of a Franco-Moroccan man naturalized as French who was convicted on terrorism charges, paving the way for more dual nationality jihadists to lose their passports.
While Britain last year unveiled powers to strip suspected Islamist militants of their passports temporarily, France has so far stopped short of using the measure systematically even though hundreds of jihadists are joining Islamist groups in Iraq and Syria.
The move comes after President Francois Hollande's Socialist government unveiled a raft of new security measures weeks after two attacks in Paris by Islamist militants which killed 17 people and the three attackers.
"We should not, in any case, deprive ourselves of lawful means to ensure our values are respected," Prime Minister Manuel Valls told journalists near Paris.
Reliapundit makes the argument for stripping the citizenship of Naturalized citizens as well.

British Government Orders Flags Flown At Half-Mast For Wahhabi King

Put a fork in the British Empire.

From BuzzFeed:
The UK government has requested that all flags on government buildings be flown at half-mast in tribute to King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, who died on Thursday.
The decision, which was reportedly made by the Queen, has attracted criticism from Amnesty International who say Abdullah’s regime was responsible for public beheadings, the flogging of journalists, and arresting women for attempting to drive.
Landmarks such as Westminster Abbey, Westminster Palace, and the Foreign Office followed the instruction.

Iran Has ICBM's That Can Hit Israel and Europe

On Wednesday night, Channel 2 showed satellite imagery taken by Israel’s Eros-B satellite that was launched last April. The imagery showed new missile-related sites that Iran recently constructed just outside Tehran. One facility is a missile launch site, capable of sending a rocket into space or of firing an ICBM.
On the launch pad was a new 27-meter long missile, never seen before.
The missile and the launch pad indicate that Iran’s ballistic missile program, which is an integral part of its nuclear weapons program, is moving forward at full throttle. The expanded range of Iran’s ballistic missile program as indicated by the satellite imagery makes clear that its nuclear weapons program is not merely a threat to Israel, or to Israel and Europe. It is a direct threat to the United States as well.

Egyptian Leader El-Sisi at Davos: Islam Is in Need of “Religious Revolution”

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi said Thursday that Muslims need to adapt their religious discourse to the present and eliminate elements of their rhetoric that could foster violence.
“Islam is a tolerant religion, but this wasn’t always clear to the rest of the world during the last 20 or 30 years,” Sisi said during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “The terrible terrorist attacks and this terrible image of Muslims led us to think that we must stop and think and change the religious discourse and remove from it things that have led to violence and extremism.”
The Egyptian leader’s comments likely referred in part to Charlie Hebdo, the satirical French newspaper whose Paris offices were recently attacked by Islamist extremists, though Sisi did not specifically mention the terrorist attack.
“There can be no religious discourse which is in conflict with its environment and with the world,” Sisi continued. “And therefore, we Muslims need to modify this religious discourse. And this has nothing to do with conviction and with religious beliefs, because those are immutable. But we need a new discourse that will be adapted to a new world and which will remove some of the misconceptions.”
Sisi, himself a Muslim, has long presented himself as more secular than Egypt’s ousted former President Mohammed Morsi — the Islamist who served as Egypt’s first democratically elected president. In 2013, as army chief, Sisi led the ouster of Morsi.
Speaking to a group of Muslim clerics at al-Azhar University in Cairo earlier this month, Sisi struck a similar tone, saying Islam needed a “religious revolution” and calling on clerics to take the lead.
“We are in need of a religious revolution. You imams are responsible before Allah,” he said. “The entire world is waiting for your word … because the Islamic world is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost … by our own hands.”

Yemen: Coup Successful, President Resigns

If only Obama would resign:
Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi resigned on Thursday, a government source said.
Just before, Prime Minister Khaled Baha offered his government’s resignation to Hadi, saying it did not want to be dragged into “an unconstructive political maze”.
This was an apparent reference to a stand-off between Hadi and Yemen’s powerful Houthi movement.

Google Chairman: "The Internet Will Disappear" Into You, "You Won't Even Sense It, It Will Be Part of Your Presence All The Time"

Google Chairman, Eric Schmidt spoke at Davos this week. This is an important article, if you want to understand the future of our world.

The issues discussed in this article touch on First and Fourth Amendment issues that will come to either be understood differently in the future, or the First and Fourth Amendments will disappear altogether.

From the Hollywood Reporter:
Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt on Thursday predicted the end of the Internet as we know it. At the end of a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland where his comments were webcast, he was asked for his prediction on the future of the Web.
“I will answer very simply that the Internet will disappear,” Schmidt said. “There will be so many IP addresses…so many devices, sensors, things that you are wearing, things that you are interacting with that you won’t even sense it,” he explained.
“It will be part of your presence all the time. Imagine you walk into a room, and the room is dynamic. And with your permission and all of that, you are interacting with the things going on in the room.” ...
Asked about his recent trip to North Korea, Schmidt said the country has many Internet connections through data phones, but there is no roaming and Web usage is “heavily supervised.” Schmidt said “it’s very much surveillance of use,” which he said was not good for the country and others.
Sandberg and Schmidt lauded the Internet as an important way to give more people in the world a voice.
During another technology panel at the World Economic Forum Thursday, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, Liberty Global CEO Mike Fries and others answered questions on the need to regulate privacy standards on the Internet and for tech companies following the Snowden case, the Sony hack and the like.
Mayer said that the personalized Internet “is a better Internet,” emphasizing: “We don’t sell your personal data…We don’t transfer your personal data to third parties.”
She said users own their data and need to have control, adding that people give up data to the government for tax assessment, social services and other purposes.
Fries said Liberty Global subscribers view billions of hours of content and generate billions of clicks, but added that “today we do nothing.” He explained: “We generate zero revenue from all of that information.” But he acknowledged that big data was big business for a lot of people.
Both executives said transparency was important to make sure users know privacy standards and the like.
Gunther Oettinger, a conservative German politician serving as the European Union’s commissioner for digital economy and society, said on the panel that “we need a convincing global understanding, we need a UN agency for data protection and security.”
Asked what form that “understanding” should have, he said he was looking for “clear, pragmatic, market-based regulation.” Explained Oettinger: “It’s a public-private partnership.”
Regarding Internet Technology and First and Fourth Amendment issues, here's something I wrote previously:

We Have the Right To Bear Encryption

The NSA/Snowden issue has got me thinking about how we, who may oppose the government from time to time, are going to be able to avoid detection and ensure that our movements and communications are secure.

How does one avoid an Omniscient all-seeing Government Machine like PRISM?

If one wants to communicate something privately through a digital system, the way to do it is to Encrypt the code. I am certainly no expert. But, as I understand it, PGP is one simple, yet powerful way to send and receive a secure message.

It has occurred to me that, in a Surveillance society, Encryption is just as dangerous to a tyrranical government as guns.

And yet, we have no codified Right to Encryption. And we can be pretty sure that, as citizens become more and more aware that we are never truly alone (without the government snooping on us in some way), we will all find that various forms of encryption (or screwing with the code) will become ever more important and even necessary.

One of the brilliant things about the Bill of Rights, as framed by our Founding Fathers, was that they it is based on the concept of Natural Rights. These are rights which exist, just like logic and mathematics, separately from the human mind. They are true because they are true, not because human beings invented them.

We are Free because we are Free. If one is a believer in the Judeo-Christian religion, then one believes he is Free because God Created human beings to be Free.

Our Freedom of Speech, our Freedom of Conscience, our Freedom to own weapons to protect ourselves, these are not Rights given to us by the Laws of man. No King bequeaths us these Rights. These Rights are ours because they exist before the vote, before the decree of a King. They are axiomatic. They are Universal and Inalienable. They are as true as 2 + 2 = 4.

The Bill of Rights only codified what already existed. Just as Biologists who discover "new species" have not really done anything new, but have instead merely noted the existence of something that was already there, so the Bill of Rights merely noted that we have these Rights. The Rights came before the Bill. The Bill merely enumerated them.

Before the Bill of Rights, the Rights existed and had not been noted.

Now, even as the Bill of Rights exists, we find ourselves in ever new situations, as the world changes, and sometimes, we, like the Biologist who finds a "new species", may find a "new Right."

There are two Rights which I believe are just as Universal and Inalienable as the original 10.

These are:

1) The Right to the absolute Privacy of our own minds, and the contents, and issue thereof.

2) The Right to have, as our property, the necessary Encryption technologies to maintain the Privacy, contents and issuance of our minds.

Just as the Right to Bear Arms naturally follows the Right to Free Speech and Religion, so the Right to Bear Encryption naturally follows from the Right to the Absolute Privacy of our own minds.

As technology develops in the 21st century, the line between computer and the human mind will become more and more blurred.

Already there are chips which can be planted in the Retina which can transmit data to the human brain which can help a blind person to see. That is uploading of digital data directly to the human brain.

Already there are computers which can be controlled by the thoughts of a human brain. That is downloading of digital data directly into a computer.

This downloading and uploading of information between brain and computer will only become more and more sophisticated as the 21st Century winds on. Before we know it, we will be truly thinking with the help of Google. We will wonder about something and immediately the answer will come to us. We will have a thought and immediately it will be transported out onto the worldwide web of digital information.

At this point, the question becomes, what separates one individual human being from another? Will we be doomed to think with a hive mind? Will our thoughts always be directed by Web Browser Systems, just as the web pages we visit now are filled with Advertisements tailored specifically to our "needs"?

Or will we devise the necessary means to keep ourselves separate, to ensure the Absolute Privacy of thought necessary for a human being to function as an Individual, created by God with Free Will and Creativity?

I believe Privacy is absolutely necessary to the exercise of Free Will and the genesis of creative processes in the human mind.

I believe this is axiomatic; Universal, and Inalienably true.

I also think we'd better start having some serious conversations along these lines, because the genie is out of the bottle, my friends. The future is rushing at us with a speed that is almost, but not quite, faster than the human mind itself.

Now, what are we prepared to do about it?

“the U.S. faces a jobs crisis that will cause social unrest and radical politics”

Billionaire Jeff Greene, who amassed a multibillion dollar fortune betting against subprime mortgage securities, says the U.S. faces a jobs crisis that will cause social unrest and radical politics.
“America’s lifestyle expectations are far too high and need to be adjusted so we have less things and a smaller, better existence,” Greene said in an interview today at theWorld Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “We need to reinvent our whole system of life.”
I have better answer. We use the NSA and CIA to ensure the growth and power of trade unions EVERYWHERE in a moral crusade to improve working conditions and pay.
What could be better?
American wages are then competitive and TRADE IS FAIR.
And we then bet OURSELVES, OUR BRAINS AND OUR EFFORTS against this entire fucking world, NOT the equity in our homes to support our purchasing power.
FUCK YOU GREENE, and the private frickin’ jet you flew to Davos in.

Obama Regime: Our Goal Is To Delay, Not To Eliminate Iran’s Nuclear Weapons Program

Delay until what? What do they think is going to change?

From the Free Beacon:
A senior official in the State Department admitted on Wednesday that the Obama administration’s goal during negotiations with Iran is delaying the regime’s development of nuclear weapons rather than shutting down the Islamic Republic’s contested nuclear program.
Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken acknowledged during a tense exchange with senators on Capitol Hill a deal being sought by the Obama administration that would constrain its nuclear breakout capability without eliminating its nuclear program.
Blinken also floated the possibility of extending nuclear talks past the June deadline should additional time be needed to finalize details of a possible deal with Iran. Leading senators on both sides of the aisle grilled Blinken and other officials in the administration over Iran’s nuclear program, which has continued despite restrictions imposed under an interim nuclear agreement made in November 2013.

Dearborn Woman Suing Police For Forcing Her To Remove Hijab When Placed Under Arrest

Local Muslim woman filing lawsuit against Dearborn Heights Police for forcing her to remove hijab during arrest

DEARBORN HEIGHTS - A 27-year-old local Muslim woman is filing a lawsuit against the Dearborn Heights Police department for forcing her to remove her hijab when she was arrested and booked for a traffic misdemeanor offense on July 9, 2014.
Malak Kazan said she was humiliated by the department’s policy, which required her to remove her scarf when she was detained for driving on a suspended license.
As part of the booking process, Kazan was asked to remove her hihab for her mug shot. Kazan allegedly expressed concern about the policy to the police men on duty, claiming it was a violation of her religion.
She allegedly asked for a female police officer, but was told they couldn’t provide her with one. After growing frustration, Kazan was able to speak to a supervisor, who told her that removing head wear was part of the department’s policy and that she needed to comply or she would be further detained.
Local Attorney Amir Makled from the Law Office of Cyril C. Hall, is filing the case at the U.S. District Court this week. He is demanding the department change its policy and is also seeking both compensatory and punitive damages for his client.

What was the REAL DEAL with the IRGC general and Mugniyah on top of Quneitra right on the GOLAN BORDER?

One explanation .. and a rational one to consider
What was an Iranian general doing hanging around on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights border with Israel? The answer is that, along with several high-ranking figures in the Hezbollah terrorist group, General Mohammed Ali Allahdadi, a reputed ballistic missiles expert, was there helping to set up a missile base from which the terror group would, with Iranian aid and instructions, strike at the State of Israel. But before he completed his mission Allahdadi was killed along with some of the Hezbollah personnel in an Israel strike on their base near the town of Quenetra. The mission nipped the Iranian scheme in the bud but it’s doubtful that anyone in the Israeli government is under the impression that the strike ended the threat of attack from Iranian forces and their auxiliaries. But the revelation of the Iranian effort near the Golan is significant because it illustrates how deeply involved Iran is in fomenting a new terror war against Israel as well as the peril presented by Western policies that would, at best, make Iran a threshold nuclear power in the years to come.

The purpose of the Iranian effort wasn’t just to make mischief for the Israelis under the cover of the chaos engendered by the Syrian civil war. The point of the plot was to allow Hezbollah to create a missile base from which it could rain death and destruction down on Israelis without involving the country of Lebanon.

10 Israeli Tourists Burned, Robbed, and Beaten in anti-Semitic Attack in Argentina

Three assailants burned, robbed and beat the tourists at the Onda Azul hostel in Lago Puelo, in southern Argentina, between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Monday, the Argentine media reported. Police in the Chubut province are investigating.
“It was a terrifying moment, several hours of fear,” hostel owner Sergio Polak told the local media. “They shouted, ‘Go, f***ing Jews, you f***ing Jews are robbing us’ in the Patagonia region.

"If they were able to do anything, they would have done it a long time ago”

Iran’s Defense Minister Hussein Dehghani, commenting on the idea of either the US or Israel doing something about Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

So why negotiate?

There IS one thing Israel can and I believe WOULD do which would be VERY effective.
An EMP weapon which would probably kill no one, exploded at ~75,000 feet would obliterate all unprotected equipment within about 240 miles. Everything in this pic. Repeated application would guarantee, SOONER OR LATER an end to this program.
To protect your electronics, you need to defend against two energy surges: a surge that arrives like radio waves (E1 phase) and a second surge that arrives over power and phone lines (E3 phase). Defending against these two surges will let your electronics survive.
E1 energy reaches any device not buried deep, deep underground. The more circuits and wires, the more EMP energy caught. Antennas, power cords, and computer circuit boards catch for the EMP energy, which then damages the electronics.
E3 energy arrives over power lines, phone wires, and cable TV connections. These very long wires collect the E3 energy, which floods into connected equipment. This power overload can destroy your equipment.
If Israel and its people BELIEVE it is the strategic goal of Iran (as it’s every leader has stated) to KILL them and their state ….. this last and ultimate action would guarantee the END of this threat, and spread relief throughout many nations, including MANY enemies of Israel as well.

Iran, Nukes, Bibi, Obama, and Mossad

By now most of us who like to be INFORMED know:
  1. Boehner and the R’s invited Bibi to address a joint session of Congress on Iranian nuclear ambitions
  2. Boehner and the R’s didn’t bother to inform Obama
  3. Bibi accepted
  4. Obama has warned any action by Congress to automagically pass a bill which would REIMPOSE sanctions by July if negotiations fail or need extension (HAH) would destroy those negotiations and he would VETO the legislation (there’s good chance of override on this one)
  5. Courtesy of a US leak, the Mossad has apparently told some congressmen (& ladies) the same thing… a bill now would tank the negotiations, and the Jpost says this this is Obama’s revenge
I don’t know if Mossad believes these negotiations are worth warm spit, indeed like the American-Japanese negotiations which went on for MORE than 6 months in 1941 (over sanctions) they may have no chance of succeeding.

In fact, I can’t think of ANY reason why Iran would give up the development of (at the least) a deterrent weapon which is the only thing which can guarantee them safety from ‘arrogant powers and Zionist aggressors’, and at worst, the tool which will allow them to carry out the dream and verbalized threat of their every leader, to KILL ALL THE JEWS IN ISRAEL.

Think of what the mullahs have observed. Libya gave up it’s nuclear weapons program after we invaded Iraq, and it’s leaders are dead and nation is in chaos. Iraq was FORCED to give it up and it’s leaders are dead and the nation is in chaos.

Therefore I have NO REASON to think, strictly as a practical matter, the conservative leaders of Iran would even CONSIDER really giving up their program, especially with a Barack Obama as a president here.

Therefore the negotiations are IRRELEVANT to the goal we want.

If congress reimposes sanction automatically in July (preventing another extension in the USELESS talks) and that tanks the negotiations, and sanctions are thus reimposed NOW ….

The Iranians will be exposed as not being serious and being SO ARROGANT they treat the results in the west with casual insouciance, flavored with the usual rhetoric sounding like Ron Burgundy imitating Baghdad Bob.

Those of us who are as cynical about human nature as were the founders know already that only a military force which will not be used MIGHT be enough to end the nuclear weapons program in Iran. Nothing else has a prayer, therefore if we are going to do nothing, Iran must be permanently an international North Korea, and it becomes a strategic goal to ENSURE oil prices remain headed to $20/barrel (Hey Al Saud, you paying attention?)

Whether or not Israel attempts this in our stead is THEIR business (but know that we will be blamed no matter what, and therefore might as well support them to the hilt), but all should be sanguine about the FACT, that these negotiations are merely  convenient tool for Iran to gain the time and space to develop weapons, secure storage for them and their manufacture, and decide on delivery methods.

And that’s #HOWITIS

Why Can't The World's Greatest Minds Solve the Mystery of Consciousness

From the Guardian:
One spring morning in Tucson, Arizona, in 1994, an unknown philosopher named David Chalmers got up to give a talk on consciousness, by which he meant the feeling of being inside your head, looking out – or, to use the kind of language that might give a neuroscientist an aneurysm, of having a soul.
Though he didn’t realise it at the time, the young Australian academic was about to ignite a war between philosophers and scientists, by drawing attention to a central mystery of human life – perhaps the central mystery of human life – and revealing how embarrassingly far they were from solving it.
The scholars gathered at the University of Arizona – for what would later go down as a landmark conference on the subject – knew they were doing something edgy: in many quarters, consciousness was still taboo, too weird and new agey to take seriously, and some of the scientists in the audience were risking their reputations by attending. Yet the first two talks that day, before Chalmers’s, hadn’t proved thrilling.
“Quite honestly, they were totally unintelligible and boring – I had no idea what anyone was talking about,” recalled Stuart Hameroff, the Arizona professor responsible for the event. “As the organiser, I’m looking around, and people are falling asleep, or getting restless.” He grew worried. “But then the third talk, right before the coffee break – that was Dave.”
With his long, straggly hair and fondness for all-body denim, the 27-year-old Chalmers looked like he’d got lost en route to a Metallica concert. “He comes on stage, hair down to his butt, he’s prancing around like Mick Jagger,” Hameroff said. “But then he speaks. And that’s when everyone wakes up.”
The brain, Chalmers began by pointing out, poses all sorts of problems to keep scientists busy. How do we learn, store memories, or perceive things? How do you know to jerk your hand away from scalding water, or hear your name spoken across the room at a noisy party? But these were all “easy problems”, in the scheme of things: given enough time and money, experts would figure them out.
There was only one truly hard problem of consciousness, Chalmers said. It was a puzzle so bewildering that, in the months after his talk, people started dignifying it with capital letters – the Hard Problem of Consciousness – and it’s this: why on earth should all those complicated brain processes feel like anything from the inside?
Why aren’t we just brilliant robots, capable of retaining information, of responding to noises and smells and hot saucepans, but dark inside, lacking an inner life? And how does the brain manage it? How could the 1.4kg lump of moist, pinkish-beige tissue inside your skull give rise to something as mysterious as the experience of being that pinkish-beige lump, and the body to which it is attached?
What jolted Chalmers’s audience from their torpor was how he had framed the question. “At the coffee break, I went around like a playwright on opening night, eavesdropping,” Hameroff said. “And everyone was like: ‘Oh! The Hard Problem! The Hard Problem! That’s why we’re here!’”
Philosophers had pondered the so-called “mind-body problem” for centuries. But Chalmers’s particular manner of reviving it “reached outside philosophy and galvanised everyone. It defined the field. It made us ask: what the hell is this that we’re dealing with here?”
Two decades later, we know an astonishing amount about the brain: you can’t follow the news for a week without encountering at least one more tale about scientists discovering the brain region associated with gambling, or laziness, or love at first sight, or regret – and that’s only the research that makes the headlines.
Meanwhile, the field of artificial intelligence – which focuses on recreating the abilities of the human brain, rather than on what it feels like to be one – has advanced stupendously. But like an obnoxious relative who invites himself to stay for a week and then won’t leave, the Hard Problem remains. When I stubbed my toe on the leg of the dining table this morning, as any student of the brain could tell you, nerve fibres called “C-fibres” shot a message to my spinal cord, sending neurotransmitters to the part of my brain called the thalamus, which activated (among other things) my limbic system. Fine. But how come all that was accompanied by an agonising flash of pain?
And what is pain, anyway? Questions like these, which straddle the border between science and philosophy, make some experts openly angry. They have caused others to argue that conscious sensations, such as pain, don’t really exist, no matter what I felt as I hopped in anguish around the kitchen; or, alternatively, that plants and trees must also be conscious.
The Hard Problem has prompted arguments in serious journals about what is going on in the mind of a zombie, or – to quote the title of a famous 1974 paper by the philosopher Thomas Nagel – the question “What is it like to be a bat?” Some argue that the problem marks the boundary not just of what we currently know, but of what science could ever explain. On the other hand, in recent years, a handful of neuroscientists have come to believe that it may finally be about to be solved – but only if we are willing to accept the profoundly unsettling conclusion that computers or the internet might soon become conscious, too.
Next week, the conundrum will move further into public awareness with the opening of Tom Stoppard’s new play, The Hard Problem, at the National Theatre – the first play Stoppard has written for the National since 2006, and the last that the theatre’s head, Nicholas Hytner, will direct before leaving his post in March. The 77-year-old playwright has revealed little about the play’s contents, except that it concerns the question of “what consciousness is and why it exists”, considered from the perspective of a young researcher played by Olivia Vinall. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Stoppard also clarified a potential misinterpretation of the title. “It’s not about erectile dysfunction,” he said.
