US Considers Military Strikes Against Assad's Troops

Why are we still fighting against Assad in Syria, when Assad's military is our only bulwark against our real enemy, ISIS?

I like the way the Vlad Tepes Blog put it:

USA to start military campaign that will “move US and Russian conflict to a closer reality and does not serve anybody’s interests”

"does not serve anybody's interests"...except for the Saudis, and more important, ISIS.

The last 7 and a half years have been the Obama admin trying to pit Shiites vs Sunnis to create chaos in the region. This only hurts Israel and Europe in the short term and the rest of the Western world in the long by creating a flood of refugees from that region.

I believe that might be exactly what Obama is thinking in his strategy. It's hard to believe his only strategy is to destroy the U.S., though I do believe he thinks we should be less powerful, or at least, less aggressive in our use of power; that we should subject all our uses of power to an international test, as Kerry so famously put it.

Thing is, if that is Obama's strategy, Iran is fully onto him; that is why they smile in his face when working out deals with him, demand money, and then curse him to the international community the second he leaves their presence.

He is not fooling his enemies.
