So, Schiff, about that ‘Trump chosen by Putin’ and ‘collusion with Russia’ …

The idea that Trump is better for Russia looks ridiculous this morning doesn’t it?  Syria is one of Russia’s OLDEST allies, and is welded to Iran
I will quote Sputnik news here for the Pravda view

Putin Considers US Attack in Syria Aggression Against Sovereign State – Kremlin

The US launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at the Syrian military airfield in Ash Sha’irat near Homs late Thursday. US President Donald Trump said the attack was a response to the alleged chemical weapon use in Idlib on Tuesday, which Washington blames on Damascus.
“President [Vladimir] Putin regards the US attacks on Syria as an aggression against a sovereign state in violation of the norms of international law, and under a trumped-up pretext at that,” Pesov told reporters.
I hope Kim is watching, and I hope Xi takes the principle in hand.
It’s that simple.
Wall, Tax, Border Security, SCOTUS, and Foreign Relations, including use of force. Whatever the guy promised, he going to act.
Now the game is to see if Russia is going to do something STUPID in Libya, or Syria, or Iraq, or someplace unexpected or new, LIKE CUBA, or VENEZUELA.
A word of warning …. if the proximate goal is no Assad, then we had better be ready to make Kurdistan REAL, because all of Syria NOT Kurdistan will descend into a caliphate, with Russian troops and weapons around, and vulnerable.

Quoting above: ". . . . the Russians, who want to maintain solidarity with their Slavic cousins in the Balkans and prevent an unbroken chain of Islamic territory stretching from the Bosphorus to the border of Croatia."

That quote reminds me of the following quote from the March 2017 edition of Hillsdale College's "Imprimis" pamphlet/mailer. Written by Senior Editor of 'The Weekly Standard', Christopher Caldwell, How to Think About Vladimir Putin also states similar sentiments:
"One theme runs through Russian foreign policy, and has for much of its history. There is no country, with the exception of Israel, that has a more dangerous frontier with the Islamic world. You would think that this would be the primary lens through which to view Russian conduct—a good place for the West to begin in trying to explain Russian behavior that, at first glance, does not have an obvious rationale. "

Another quote worth repeating illustrates why Putin has become the Progressive left's current boogeyman.
"[President Ronald]Reagan’s gift as a foreign policy thinker, he said, was not his idealism. It was his ability to set priorities, to see what constituted the biggest threat. Today’s biggest threat to the U.S. isn’t Vladimir Putin.

So why are people thinking about Putin as much as they do? Because he has become a symbol of national self-determination."

Sundance over at TheConservativeTreehouse suggests a bigger picture analysis:
For those hoping a President Trump would be an isolationist president, welcome to reality. There are other players and threats other than Islam in the World and this missile chastisement of Assad (whether he was guilty or not) serves wider purposes. Firstly it alerts the unstable North Korean regime, that Trump is not a ditherer like Obama when it comes to the military option. The second player targeted is China. Trump approves the strike while meeting with the Chinese premier. China with its games in the South China Sea will notice what a sea-launched Tomahawk attack can do to an airfield. Third player intended to take notice is Putin and Russia. Tread carefully Vlad.
Would former national security advisor Mike Flynn have recommended a strike on Syria with his claimed coziness to Russia? Quite possibly, his other client Turkey approved of it.

I support Trump's chess piece move:

Regarding suffering another attack, re: More jihad - it appears we can do nothing and suffer more jihad. We were at peace when the Twin Towers crumbled. Let the correct Bastards be identified and dealt with quickly.

Trump claimed his order for a retaliatory missile attack was to protect vital American interests which at first glance is indeed puzzling. However, given the previous-occupants-of-the-oval-office economic/political enrichment of mortal-enemy-Iran and considering Iran's unwavering support for Bashar al Assad, perhaps this kinetic action is NOT about Syria/Assad as much as to prepare to undo what Obama did for Iran by disabling Assad's capability to return the favor to the ayatollahs when the time comes.

If we are just reacting this is pointless, but Trump HAS been quietly moving in forces and warfighting materiall into Kurdish areas.

I have LONG FELT the only POSSIBLE long range solution is for Kurdistan, or NATURAL allies, who managed themselves WELL under the Iraqi no fly zone, to come into existence.

If we HAVE such a strategic objective in mind then this is a 100% good move. If it's a reaction, then it's not worth the check we wrote for the missiles.

We should be prepared to 'lose' Turkey IMMEDIATELY if this is the plan . it may not happen, but we need to be ready at every NATO installation. We gain BIGTIME if this is successful since 'Kurdistan' exists from inside IRan all the way to the Med, across a lot of nations whose policies are inimical to the USA (including Iraq, btw ..they are a Shia quasi-puppet of the black hats)

This would not be easy but it would signify...

THOUGHT

and the Kurds, once armed, will take care of themselves (no nation building, thank you)
