Al Franken/Leann Tweeden: Do We Really Want a Nation Full of Caitlyn Jenners?

From The Last English Prince:
“Secondary to the the accusations leveled against Al Franken, the Pentagon has requested an expedited recall of all Flak jackets. It is believed that a critical design flaw which allows a woman to experience a sensation of being groped while wearing the vest suggests that the armor is insufficient to protect against low velocity projectiles.”
Satire aside, having worn a Flak jacket in the field, I can attest to the sturdiness of the same and lack of maneuverability of the tailoring. “Groping” a woman through a Flak jacket would be quite an accomplishment for most men.
Uncomfortable question:
Is this an image of a woman being groped or the image of a fake grope of a woman for purpose of comedy?
Second uncomfortable question:
In the current climate will the emasculation of men continue to the point that all men are reduced to political palace eunuchs? Do we really want men to be reduced to Caitlyn Jenner status?
Third uncomfortable question:
Leeann Tweeden states she was so humiliated by this image that since that time she has found herself “making a fist” every time she sees a media image of Al Franken. Do all women find their lives ruined by male-female co-existence and interaction?
Men are from Mars and women are from Venus. Hormones account for much of this and the hardwiring in men can be the soft wiring in some women – and the frayed wiring in others. But in the current cycle of nastiness there is a cautionary tale.
If getting to “first base” (the primary “crime” of Roy Moore) causes an outcry, and a yawner of an image of Al Franken and Leeann Tweeden counts for outrage – what hope is there for mothers wishing to raise normal sons?
Should we choose to thoroughly chastise and emasculate manhood, the law of unintended consequences may leave women who truly need a real man in their lives – bereft of any real choices.
Real men do not always eat quiche. And sometimes they do reach for that which they ought not. That alone – should not indict the male species.
As a woman who has had the occasional squeeze, managed to respond as the situation and place demanded, not gone into hiding or claimed to be humiliated, nor in need of catharsis – can we just give the topic a break?
For the sake of the men, of course.
AND THEN THERE'S THIS:

Mitch McConnell Calls on Roy Moore to Step Down over Allegations – But Calls for Review of Al Franken After Proven Sexual Assault

Midnight Rider,

I apologize if you are offended. I will not apologize for freedom of expression. That is the line drawn in the sand.

But I believe the agenda in all of this is the emasculation of the male, heaping humiliation on men, guilt for being men.

I was raised with four brothers, raised two sons, have been more comfortable in the presence of men than women, all of my life. Perhaps because being of small stature, Daddy locked my backbone firmly in place. Take what comes to ya' with fortitude and grace. Perhaps not unscathed, but foot always in motion, moving forward.

I consider the image of Al Franken dubious. "Who" took the picture in a room with other people obviously present, when he said "Hey! Lemme pretend to grope..." Situation and place do not validate the claim of the accuser. Status (comedian) of Franken, cast the image in a different light.

I also like to remember that a journalist nearly ruined the lives of a university and the lives of fraternity members with a falsified tale of rape - all to promote an anti-male agenda. (Rolling Stone article)

Feel free to let loose with whatever in my e mail. You are always welcome. And - because you are a male, I forgive you for a vicious verbal assault and a potty mouth - for which males can be known. Sincerely, I forgive you.

I don't agree with her editorial either.

I think there is enough evidence to safely condemn Franken.

However, I posted this piece because both AOW and TLEP, as women, agree with me that something more is behind this mass-public character assassination of men.

And this ought to be obvious by now.

It's not just about women coming forward. It's about Feminists and other Leftist bringing down white males.

This is more Obama stuff, though I don't think it is necessarily headed by Obama.

I have no theories as to who is behing it.. Just obvservations.

If you are going to threaten me, I would prefer you talk to me on the phone.

We have been friends for a long time. I think I deserve a discussion.

The final image is disgusting and unnecessary to make any intended point.

There is no humor is assault. -HRW

I invite anyone who is associated with this site, who disagrees with me to write an editorial and either post it themselves, or if they are not a contributor, I will post it for you, as a rebuttal against what I and TLEP have done here.

I think the image of Trump and Hillary is justified, because I think this is an attack on white men by Leftists and Feminists. I think there is no positive agenda in this Mass Public Character Assassination of Powerful White men.

That does not mean that I don't believe many of the allegations are true.

As AOW noted the other day, Mika Brezninkski or whatever the fuck her name is, said on Morning Joe, "whether it is Bill Clinton or Donald Trump, we are finding Sexual Assault in the Oval Office".

Really? Have they found sexual assault on Trump?

No, but they are attempting to associate him with it.

This has all become so complicated.

Speaking for myself here...

While I was in college, I went out on a date with a drop-dead-handsome man of 21+ years; he owned his own business. The guy kept trying to get to "run the bases" on a deserted country road (We were supposed to be going out for pizza -- never happened). I was having quite a bit of trouble fending him off (He morphed into an octopus!) and finally said, "Hey, you're playing with jail bait." He didn't believe me; after all, I was in college (Yes, at the age of 16). But he stopped groping me long enough for me to show him my driver's license. He took me home ASAP. I have never felt traumatized. But I guess that what happened that night is now deemed sexual assault. At the time, I didn't deem what happened to be sexual assault.

On the other hand...

My best friend in college was beaten and raped (date rape, 1971). Penetration. She was a virgin. What happened was so brutal that, a year later, the GYN asked her, "When were you raped?" She couldn't take the man to court: he was the son of a diplomat. He repeated his behavior over and over again in the State Department.

I'm not taking sides in the discussion here in this thread.

BUT I AM INDEED CONFUSED!

What is the definition of sexual assault?

I think Trump is indeed the target of all this.

Damn.

It's complicated. I agree this is an attack on white males. Wondering who's behind it? The left, the feminists and all those intent in destroying our society.

On the other hand, I raised three boys, men now, and I always emphasized the importance of respecting women, and reminding them they have a mother and a sister. But I also warned them of the dangers they could get into when dealing with women. Their futures could be in danger for just a foolish, senseless moment.

As for the picture is clear there could be no groping through that stiff jacket, and it was intended as a "humorous" picture. The bad taste is clear and there is nothing funny about it. I can see the woman being offended, mostly taking into account what had happened to her during the tour. The guy is a revolting human being with no sense of what's appropriate or in good taste. And zero respect for women.

First of all midnight rider I am truly sorry for what happened to your wife and daughter. I think you missed the context as others have stated there is a Witch Hunt going on. Now I know you are upset but what gives you the right to call a woman the names you did. No gentleman would do that they may think it but they would not have expressed it

midnight rider said...

You are correct. I apologize for the language but not the sentiment.

You are incorrect that I missed the context. This may well indeed be aimed at Trump (hey, we're eating our own now you eat yours)

Yet so many exposed recently are guilty of exactly what has been leveled at them (Weinstein, Spacey, Louis C.K etc) and should have rightly been exposed.

Which begs the question: should we be willing to just blow off Trump's (who I still support and do not give credence to his accusers) accusers and no one else's? Or are we going to blow off other accusers as well just to protect Trump (IF he really needs it in the first place).

And the opening of this piece comes across as excusing Franken as poorly run comedy. The picture of Trump is clearly photoshopped. Franken's is not. Even he admits it is what it is.

Hollywood is a cesspool and so is D.C. Why do they have a secret "shush" fund to pay accusers of harassment. A fund made up of TAXPAYER dollars. Why are WE paying for their misbehavior. 15 mil+ so far? Paid TO whom BECAUSE of whom?

Hold all of them to the same standard, from Trump thru Moore thru Spacey and Weinstein, or to no standard at all.

Otherwise we are all hypocrites ourselves.

None of this emasculation of the American Male bullshit. That is going on in the media and schools and parenting themselves (my daughters are tougher than many guys I work with) but this is far divorced from it. Misbehavior is misbehavior.

And you have no idea what happened to my wife or daughter and what the last 15 months have been like. Who are you to lecture me?

As a woman, I find it impossible to believe the emotional narrative which Leeann Tweeden has attached to an image (which appears to show shadow and space between fingers and the sturdy flak jacket).

How can a woman who posed nude for Playboy and Maxim and who posts pr-ck teaser videos of herself possibly be traumatized by Al Franken? Seems like her goal is to keep men horny.

Al Franken is being exploited. Not saying he wasn't stupid for staging the image. But he is not the idiot here. We are the idiots if we believe poor lil' former Hooter waitress Leeann has been horribly traumatized by all of this.

Woman's laim she was assaulted by Trump as teen isn't true
On Friday, a lawsuit filed against Donald Trump by 'Katie Johnson' was dramatically dropped. The suit was not dropped because of threats or a pay-off by Trump."
